  3. The pressure for policies such as the one you describe is INTERNATIONAL in scope; it does not originate from within individual states, or even nations. Could state or national politicians put their foot down and say no? Yes, certainly they could. You have to make damn sure they hear what you want, though. I imagine it wouldn't hurt to let them know how far you'd go against those policies, within legal limits.

  4. From a personal standpoint, I know I could be more involved. But they make life so danged complicated, even the little things, that it tends to drain our energy. You probably know what I'm talking about. Life is just not nearly as simple as it should be.

  5. I've been retired for a number of years, and I know what you're talking about. Being retired is as susceptible to routine as the workaday life is. I would think the best way is to start with making tiny changes, and move up from there. A long time ago I came across a startling tip for beginning this change. The guy said to put your wristwatch on your other wrist and notice the changes that flow from that.

And Cheney shot his "friend" ( a total lie, as we will see shortly) Harry Whittington in the FACE, NECK AND CHEST with bird shot on a Texas quail hunting trip. Whittington spent days in intensive care before being released. He died last year at the tender age of 95. Whittington gave the lie to the "friendship" the media pushed when he later told the press he had met Cheney only 3 times in 30 years, and had never been hunting with him before the incident. It is my belief Cheney shot him intentionally in reaction to some he said that rubbed Cheney the wrong way. I can't prove it, but it certainly fits the Cheney attitude, especially because Cheney has never apologized for the shooting, publicly or privately.

  43. A year ago I had a loaded fight with my daughter; we had just moved to a city I never dreamed I would be in (she actually needs my rent to make ends meet). She accused me of dementia and insisted I be tested for it. Fine, I said.... if you'll be tested for dementia, too. That was the last I ever heard of it. : )
