@nopartyleftthatsworthit4330 I don't think the 98% were too concerned about the opinions of the 2%.

Bush Sr killed 1,000,000 and his son 2,000,000. They get a pass.

@spacechip3386 - The War crimes tribunal cleared him of ANY crime. Someone is creating fake news.
2
@jamesjameson2294 He field of expertise was blood testing.
2
@spacechip3386 Said who ?
2
He was arrested in 1946 and held by police. The local war tribunal placed ads in the paper, asking anyone with information on HIS crimes to come forward. Nobody came forward. He was freed. He lived 3 years in Germany and moved to South America. He was not a war criminal. The stories that he WAS a war criminal started in 1985. There is no evidence to support him carrying out one crime. And it is only evidence upon which a person is judged. Not rumor.

All are true.

Wrong, he went to Argentina in 1956.
1
Before 1985 nobody had anything bad to say about him. Interesting.

The role of Dr. Mengele and his staff of 30 medical doctors at Auschwitz was to screen all incoming persons to the camp for medical issues. All those who were brought to the camp were required get a hair cut, take a shower and given new clothing. Delousing chambers for clothes and bedding were on site to rid them lice and other bugs that might be bought into the camp. This was the protocol in every labor camp. Dr Mengele was the medical doctor who ran the medical unit and his staff of 30 doctors and nurse assistants would be the persons to screen people. The idea every person had a face to face encounter and chat with Dr Mengele is information that appeared in public discussion after 1985. Does every patient in a hospital today have a personal encounter with the CEO of the hospital. There is no prior years corroboration of these encounters I can find.

Zero forensic or photographic records or corroboration of his work. Hearsay created 50 years later is not evidence.
1
@son2025 The claims materialized after 1985. Why?

Imagine a biker club - Mengele Angels. MC

The stories are quite diverse, except he ran 30 blood labs and was rarely in the labs. The labs tested blood for disease and infectious bacteria. Not one story of torture, or cruelty to humans was EVER reported until 1983. The Red Cross had FULL access to the camps and spoke privately with those in the camps. We are to believe all the victims remained quiet until 1983.

we learned about him in our class, American Monsters.

By that logic everyone with a tool is guilty of some sin. That is not a logical statement.
1
@loganburntitus6948 You said anyone who owned gun in Poland was equally guilty. I say anyone who owned a tool was equally guilty. Same logic.

Nobody speak out until 1983, mama mia .

He was an MD and Ph.D. He oversaw 30 labs in one region and the labs tested blood for diseases and infections. He was ARRESTED in 1946 and held for pending War Crime charges. Not one person came forward to accuse the Doctor. The War Crimes Tribunal placed newspaper ads in 26 papers asking those who had information to come forward. None did. He was freed in 1948. When he was reported to have died in 1978 and this was made news in Israel in 1983, there emerged one story after another of people who SAID they were his subject and were experimented on. These reports multipled and soon numbered into thousands with people appearing on TV talk shows and telling how Dr Mengele injected purple dye into their eyes, or sewed them together with a sibling. Dr Mengele spent 90% of his time at the front lines and rarely spent more than a few minutes in the 30 labs he supervised. Some people claimed they met him 5-6- times in the place they were held.

@js99852 That is the back story.
1
@js99852 - Those are the fringe stories tat everyone knows are from cranks. The mainstream REAL story is what needs to be shared. He only became a monster because he was dead. Nobody bothered him from 1948-1978.
