Russia is taking territory at a massively increased rate in 2024 it is already clear.
1
That's really crazy that your calculations for UKR losses almost 99% match those reported by Ukraine itself. Amazing.
1
... meanwhile Wagner and the Chechens are massing in Belgorod. Putin said yesterday they are going to create a "security zone" to protect Belgorod from incursion and shelling. That means carving out a new chunk of Ukrainian territory.... permanently. Who will stop them?
1
All that matters is that for every Russian that dies, three (or more) Ukrainians die. As long as that metric is sustained Ukraine can go all the way to Azov and Russia still wins going away.
1
This is not "war"; it never was. US and Russia are renegotiating their relationship. That is how to understand it
1
Why was it so much in NATO interest that the war with Russia continue?? How would Ukraines neutrality like Finland once was, hurt NATO??
1
If that is "Plan A", then we wasted the jet fuel to fly Napolensky here to tell Biden to his face, because I can answer that right now: HELL NO. Biden's words at the start of the SMO: "I am not seeking a war with Russia". Even if he changed his mind, he has 3 months left in his term and the US Congress WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT authorize a declaration of war with Russia. Imho, the J.D. Vance option is what is most likely: RU keeps what it has, a DMZ is created between, and remnant Ukraine goes on living like they would have after the 2022 Istanbul agreement.
1
Ukrainian banzai charge 😂
1
You are seeing the tank a week after the fight that caused it to be abandoned. It looks peaceful now, the day it was damaged was anything but peaceful and no one remembers to shut the dam door when the house and whole neighborhood is on fire
1
All these reports in West Media the last few days about "thousands" of NK troops and then Zelensky says "we are now fighting them" and zero independent proof anywhere of this. All you have is a video of two guys walking into a house.... I always felt like when Austin said "the NK's are using Russian uniforms" that was their way of being able to point to any future video and say "...see! These are North Korean soldiers fighting in Ukraine!". Can't trust those Ukrainians or the ones in the US holding the leash...
1
RU has to start taking AFU units off the chessboard completely. Joe Biden is hurrying a lot of weapons to be delivered before January (in case Trump wins) which will just make the war last a little longer. However if AFU has no units to give the weapons to, then its just as if they didn't have them. These "pincers" need to be closed and the unit inside removed from the fight; the more that happens the faster this will end.
1
They are estimates; everyone knows that. What matters is that for every Russian casualty, there are three Ukrainian (or more). As long as that metric holds up, Russia wins going away.
1
Russia is about to fire a million of them at Ukraine, they want to make sure no slack in supply because what they are about to do will use up all their domestic production.
1
LOL. YT still deleting comments that highlight Ukraine's losses too much. 🙂 I mention something about those FPV drone hits near Pokrovsk and YT deleted it. Once Trump get in office , this media censorship garbage for Ukraine will end.
1
Funny I saw this coming a few weeks ago right after Biden OK'ed the anti-personnel mines. You gotta remember the US is not just one view; there is Biden Way and there is Trump Way; Biden hates Trump and will do things not only to help Ukraine, but also to hurt Trump. By pushing Russia to respond more aggressively, Biden hopes to make it harder for Trump to get a deal with Russia. Putin has to walk the tightrope between a response that is too harsh, and too weak.
1
Agreed. It may have began a proxy war, but it is NATO vs. Russia for past 9 months at least
1
Yeah, $350-400 Billion and 17 million shells to beat Russia. Can you imagine how many Ukraine soldiers would be lost if they somehow got all that ammo and equipment? Win or lose by the time it was over Zelensky would be President of a nation entirely made up of 80 and 11 yr olds....
1
This is the occupation force.
1
I'm shocked Ukraine still had a 203mm SPG left to use. No one in the West produces that shell caliber and the ancient stocks were given to them years ago. I bet that gun hadn't been fired in a year or more...
1
How close is RU to the big lithium deposit?
1
It becomes increasingly difficult to find any news about the Ukraine war in the Western media; today there is not a single Ukraine article on front page of WaPo or NYT. Online, CNN/BBC/SKY/FRANCE24 ... nothing. That basically tells us all we need to know..."
1
What happened to all our North Korean friends?
1
Russia can nuke Ukraine and win tomorrow, but to kill a million civilians would be the end of Putin. China and Iran and even NK (maybe) and certainly the BRICS would all turn their backs on Russia if they did that. AFU knows this which is why they mass their army groups in populated cities....Russia cant wipe out their army without killing 50,000 civilians too. FAB-1500 may offer a way to break the stalemate. Such a weapon may only cause 1000 civilian casualties if dropped on an AFU HQ or vehicle concentration in a populated area.
1
@KSmithwick1989 RU never was able to have such large bomb work with the satellite guidance kit. It does now.
1
Bro, did you listen? He said the females were in body armor and fully kitted out as assault troopers. This was no dam news reporter.
1
20 storm shadow=$40M , lets say 40 Russian AA missiles about $3/4M. Thats why NATO losing in a nutshell
1
Ten MILLION shells. Damn....
1
I really think Russian strategy is just wait for Biden to lose. Its that simple.
1
You are right, but Dima means active participation ; US troops, US/UK no-fly zone, it won't be "NATO" as Germany, Italy, and the rest will never join, but US/UK/Poland will. However it'll never happen as Biden cannot start a war without Congressional Authorization and two months before an election you think he's going to go to Congress and argue why American lives should be spent? Keep dreaming...
1
Wow. I went to Hawaii on the 8th and just got back; never watched a lick of news, The Kursk bulge is half the size it was when I left...
1
No one even knows how many D-20 and D-30 howitzers Russia has. "Many thousands" is all most Western estimates say. Suffice to say with a supply train of ten million rounds backing up their own production, any city, no matter how large, that is in their way will be reduced to ruins. Guaranteed. Which is exactly how I expected Russia to fight all along as thats how they won in 1943. They didn't expect to have to do it this way so thats why it has taken so long....they had to get prepared logistically. A year of producing guns and ammo, a new rail line to Melitopol, now massive stock of shells from NK. They are ready.
1
My guess is mine (embarrassing for a mine clearing vehicle), or Krasnopol
1
The worse things get for Ukraine; the more strict the YT censor becomes. As of yesterday, almost any comment I construct gets deleted. I think I'm only allowed to say "hi"
1
Whether that specific story is true or not, the reality is there is enough evidence to already believe "talks" at some level are ongoing. DW reported Germany is pressing Zelensky to negotiate; we know the US was doing so a few weeks ago. When 2 of your 3 main sponsors are telling you "time to talk"; its only a matter of time. I'm feeling the recent accelerated pace of Russian movement since Thanksgiving is them going for as much territory as possible as they know an armistice may be near and they can use that territory to bargain with.

About a year ago, UK channel ITN had a reporter somewhere near Bakhmut interviewing some RU soldiers. Halfway through the interview, three Spetznaz came into the bunker and one of them saw the Brit and looked at him like he wanted to eat him. The interviewer had to stop, move the Brit to another room and tell the Spetznaz what was going on to calm them. Eventually the Spetznaz calmed down and actually talked to the Brit (one of them still joking that he wanted to eat the Brit's liver); I'll say this: I would never want to run into men like those Spetznaz as their enemy. I'll take Storm-Z, regular RU army mechanized soldiers, etc.; but those special forces guys scare me. They are even scarier than our "Seal Team Six" type guys because I believe they were not joking when they said one of them wanted to eat the Brit reporter's liver..."

That Iskander strike vid appears to be the one from a few days ago; of course I don't "know", but I recognized the building burning in the drone footage as very similar to the one in the photo we saw a couple days after the news from Selydove. Large, rectangular building about 3/4 stories with an open square area in front. The speed of those Iskanders is incredible; night footage of artillery shells moving at say 1500 m/s looks positively SLOW in comparison to those of Iskander. 1500 m/s is about 3000 mph; so just seeing the Iskander clearly moving at twice that speed gives you 6000 mph or about Mach 7 at sea level. Damn....
1
I don't believe the Brits ever sent even a single Challenger tank. That was in January and here it is almost August and no one has ever seen one in Ukraine even fire one shot at the Russians. Today Ukraine cashes in all her poker chips and even now, no Challengers to be seen. History will record it as the "Coward Tank" of the Ukraine war.
1
I first learned of Sarmat w/Avangard two years ago from Scott Ritter and here we are RU is clearly preparing to use it if they have to. However I'm not sure if other older ICBMs can carry Avangard warhead or just RS-28 Sarmat; if not RU in trouble because US/UK will not back down unless made to do so. Its true they have many ammo depots and it won't matter for them beating up Ukraine; but NATO "softening up" RU using Ukrainian hands is exactly what they want. Without the non-nuclear "big stick" RU doesn't have a credible conventional deterrent to NATO. EDIT: Just looked it up and (at least according to Wikipedia, Avangard can be carried by "UR-100UTTKh,[9][10] R-36M2 and RS-28" Whew was worried there for a sec; no one is under any illusion that in a direct conventional confrontation US can beat RU; $900B a year vs. $110B a year has only one possible outcome. Avangard, being a "strategic" (but non-nuclear) capability, is one of the few things that can keep NATO at bay without having to burn the northern hemisphere.
1
YT is deleting any suggestions the Russians use a WMD on Avdiivka.
1
Yeah sure send 60K man army into a direct frontal assault on fortified enemy positions manned by an equal number of troops, who have ten gun barrels for every one you have and five times the shells, plus they have attack helicopters while you have none, and they have 800 jets while you have 87. That is not an exaggeration. No hyperbole. Ukraine actually tried that. The military history books will have a whole chapter on this battle 100 years from now.
1
Trump has Zel and EU by the balls, this deal will get done. I don't know when exactly but this war is over.
1
"The Biden administration has quietly given Ukraine permission to strike inside Russia — solely near the area of Kharkiv — using U.S.-provided weapons, three U.S. officials and two other people familiar with the move said Thursday, a major reversal that will help Ukraine to better defend its second-largest city." May 30, 2024 "Ukraine has not violated our policy..." US State Dept, August 8, 2024. 🤣 I'm with Medveyev.....it's Avangard Time...."
1
Can't be everywhere, and Russia has so many D20 howitzers they don't even man them all...they just leave them deployed all over and they are crewed when needed
1
The Alligator flying in the background as Gerasimov walks.... Reminds me of 2023 when Shoigu visited the Front and the vid showed two Ka-52s escorting his chopper. 🙂
1
I think the Ukraine war is now a race for territory like in April, 1945. The Russians have to get as much before NATO comes in to save their investment (and prevent some of their own members taking chunks). When that happens everyone will face down, then talk, and settle up in negotiations.
1
Blinken and Austin are 100% NATO stooges, but they do not engage in speculation; the NK soldiers are there. However even they admit they don't know for what purposes; Austin said they are training on drones, artillery and trench-clearing. That SEEMS to indicate they will join the fight but so far they haven't. RU dont want to take a single soldier from the momentum in Donbass, nor from the huge army in Zaporizhzhia, it "looks" like they just dont have enough men to push AFU out of Kursk anytime soon. Maybe that's what NK is for? I never imagine the "human shield" idea but the fact the NK brought none of their own trucks, tanks, APCs, MLRS, etc. always make me doubt they there to fight
1
Please do not mix the Ukraine war summaries with the Gaza war. Anything to do with Gaza or Israel is triggering some kind of hyper-level suppression of comments on YT. I can't even make a post about the TOS-1A "Flamethrower" on this article without YT deleting it.
1
I saw that RU increased the range of their glide bombs by-------making the wings longer. LOL. Even if the increase only 20 or 30 percent in range that is huge in terms of tactical advantage. I think most bombs were in the 60km range before so if they are up to 80 or 90 kms now, that is the maximum range of the latest model IRIS-T. HUGE tactical impact..."
1
Those weapons weren't for Ukraine; RU hardly need them for Ukraine. Those missiles were meant to bulk up for NATO; that's why NATO made it a priority (Blinken publicly called it out 3 days before the attack on the arsenal).
1
Wow every day I hear a different story about this Russian fighter shoot down; thats how shocking it is that Ukraine could shoot down a Russian plane.
