And those are just the ones I came up with without googling! No sci-fi elements in the first four seasons, my derrière! 🙄

  14. Not that there's anything wrong with a woman being the older person in a couple, but it still surprises me that Barbara Gordon would be paired up with Dick Grayson. If I'm remembering correctly, when she was originally introduced in the comics, she was already a grown woman while Dick was still being portrayed as a teenager.

Da Pumaface   There are precedents for the Doctor to be played by an actor who has been on the show as another character.  The current Doctor, Peter Capaldi, has had two roles in the Whoniverse: Caecilius in "The Fires of Pompeii" (Series 4) and John Frobisher in Series 3 of Torchwood.  And during the Classic Era, the Sixth Doctor, Colin Baker, played a Gallifreyan guard during the season right before the one in which he became the Doctor.

  29. I agree. I don't know how well known Billy Crystal was before Soap, but considering that his character on that show was one of the most controversial characters in TV history up to that point, not many people didn't know who he was after that series premiered.

You said that how we deal with transgender people now was like finding out that a family member was schizophrenic or bipolar and not trying to get them help. My take on it is that the way we "help" them now is more akin to encouraging the schizophrenic that his/her hallucinations and delusions are real and should be pursued.
