Regarding Married with Children, for a series that prided itself on being "edgy", it was surprisingly more old fashioned than many of its contemporaries in that, before Kelly and Bud became adults themselves, you never heard them refer to adults by their first names. For example, even if they were making fun of Marcie, they always referred to her as Mrs. Rhoades or Mrs. Darcy.

  48. +Flaming Ninja Oddly enough, I was just thinking about that recently. I'm not sure if there is one word or trope to define Q, but I don't think "villain" is it. He doesn't gain anything (other than relief of his boredom) from most of his encounters with the Enterprise. In fact, the opposite is usually true. The crew (usually Picard) almost always comes away from encounters with Q with a better understanding of themselves and/or the universe around them.
