  2.  @MrDarthImperius  there are two factors at play here that come from who's the user here. Special Operations units: 1)need optics. No question. So they simply have no other options produced in Ukraine as AK-74 haven't gone through modernization program there. There were and (especially now) still are far more urgent things for Ukraine's miserable military budget. Sorry to say it, but the personal weapons of ordinary soldiers are at the bottom of the list. I guess the idea was to use small scale production for special units as stopgap until money becomes available otherwise I would have just imported the guns instead; 2)around the world special units require smaller dimensions from their weapons without sacrificing effectiveness. Weirdly enough it means increased weight in shorter gun. So they are ready to sacrifice even weight for mobility in close quarters or when exiting a vehicle.

  4.  @RavingRazik  yeah, I agree, it's a tragedy that public ignored how ukranian towns and military positions were constantly shelled from occupied territory for 8 whole years and how russian mercs used civilians to hide behind while doing so. I still recall the interview of a local priest, who had seen how the so called separatist rolled up a heavy mortar into the backyard of his church to use it as de facto hostage to prevent counter battery fire. Each morning they rolled it in on already prepared position, started the shelling and then after some time they would pack up and roll it away because they were afraid to lose the mortar. Thankfully there is a lot of drone and thermal footage that helped to document said instances. Thanks for reminding people about that, good job you. But I actually was talking about the poor guy from occupied territory. I know the context in other language can be sometimes hard to understand, hope that helps. Have a nice day;)

  8.  @depthcharge126  RPK uses intermediate ammo. Same as RPD. If you want to compare BAR designed in 1917 with it's rifle ammo, be my guest. Here, Fedorov Avtomat, 1913. A point made moot by good old Madsen from 19th century. Oh wait, you probably don't even recall which ammo all of those use;) And which BAR do you mean? Good original one from WWI? Or the crappy M1918A2? Which had taken feed back from troops and instead of making two guns as was obviously required, they made one shitty? Troops wanted either a lighter gun with lower RPM and pistol grip for more control OR same RPM, but with heavier barrel, bipod and and bigger magazine. In other words automatic rifle OR LMG depending on how they've used their BARs. Result? Single gun with lower RPM, bigger weight, bipod, same small magazine and no change to stock. Make two separate guns, rechamber them for Swift cartridge and I might even agree with you. Until then, have a nice day.

End user can get into trouble IF they install it and are seen with it, but it's not a problem of manufacturer, not to mention of someone, who printed out some ink on a metal plate. Again, by that logic all drills are illegal since they can be used to convert guns. And you can make a gun out of plumbing supplies.

  18. I don't get why though? You still need a license and thus both police and ATF have an info that you have this gun. I'm pretty anti-gun(at least on automatics), but I'd rather see person get a license and buy whatever they can afford, then destroy firearm to make it pseudo safe which is just an insult to any sensible human forced to do that and to people, who wrote those legislations in the first place. It just felt like a usual imitation of activity on governmental level. Completely useless in practice, but allows to talk shit about taking crime seriously.

Prop gun - a plastic prop that looks like a gun Blank gun - real gun that has barrel and gas system modification to cycle with a blank and also has increased muzzle flash and sound profile then just firing a blank. They can't take live ammo due to the caliber being actually much smaller then original gun. Gun gun - just gun. Can't cycle with blanks. So sometimes uses adapter on the barrel. Live round would have trouble going through some adapter designs. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Team switching to P90 over M4(except Carter, who used M4 as sane person) during "upgunning" phase felt like the weirdest move and comparing apples to planetoids during "weapon of war" speech just felt comical. Yes, PDW/SMG is definitely a great analogue to antimateriel/recoilless rifle, that's why we also compare M9 pistol to M68 tank gun😂 A pity that there wasn't a Goa'uld made PDW/sidearm that those Jaffa rebels were already trained to use... /cough/ Zat, it's bloody Zat /cough/ You want weapon of war?   41. If KelTec had used wood furniture, they would have been right at home in 1890-1940 gun design era before everything started looking the same and cloning each other. It's like how MBTs(or let's be fair, Centurion and T-54 did) killed off tanks that you want to look at because nowadays they're all the same. The most excitement you may feel is when you find out that Romania did elongated T-72 with extra road wheel called TR-125 because that's what falls into exciting design for tank enthusiasts nowadays. Tl;dr good on KelTec, hope they keep going 👍

  43. As far as movies and videogames go, this is actually one of the best representations of minigun. Usually instead we see overheating pieces of shit that fire at around 600RPM max and can't penetrate shit. Here 1)the scene is in slow motion, 2).308 rips the wall behind and right into the hallway because single brick isn't stopping it, 3)it is kind of justified because it's used against agents, who can dodge almost anything. Here they don't even have a chance, they don't even have time to fire back at exposed Neo. Sadly machineguns(and especially GPMGs) are always portrayed too weak in media. Concerning the custom build automatic shotguns - I believe you can't upload your own design into Matrix. The server ie Agents would know that new external asset was added into the system. What I always found weird is why they cut so much on movement and guns. Basically the same as other media with superpowered gun users. If they can jump over a street onto another building, they can run up the wall too. Same goes for guns the weight of which they don't feel. Grab two SAWs, backpack of 50 round belts and any body armor that won't constrict movement(weight doesn't matter, range of movement still does). Or better yet go straight for 40mm AGLs...

  44. Brandon, a weird question on topic of "fake" 12.7mm rounds like Beowulf. What do you think of subsonic ammo like 12.7x55mm for ASh-12 and of explosive ammo like 13x64mm for point defense guns like MG-131? In both cases it saved up A LOT on gun weight in cases where they weren't expected to shoot accurately(or rather at all) past 200m. Or rather what is your opinion on a combination of the two?;) "Hey, comrade, have you heard where we were shot from?" "No idea." "Have you seen anything?" "I've seen upper torso of Nikolai disappear in an explosion."

My headcannon is that it was .50 BMG heavy machine gun/antimateriel semiauto rifle for PA troops since we have seen sane machineguns in the setting before(Bozar, M60, LMG version of M16 and a few others). That's the only way I can explain that bullshit to myself.
