Oui oui Tedouard tres bien l'Alpine! This almost kinda strikes me as like a French Miata with the way you were describing it... Hope you get to drive the current version one day!

Tedward I’ll be able to if an apocalypse is imminent😂

MDX’s have some moves for a 3 row SUV! My mom has a 2016 I’ve driven a handful of times and it’s pretty well-composed through corners and tbh even that base NA V6 is ample in power. Type S is definitely a welcome addition to the lineup to creep into Q7 3.0/X5 40i territory, though.
5
I think this is my new favorite entry in this segment. As far as I’m concerned, this is the actual new 3 Series. Best driving car in this class BY A MILE, even if it has some other shortcomings. But I could probably live with those personally. I’d get mine in a Lusso Trim in Visconti Green with the beige interior and swap on summer tires.
5
Into the 40’s MPG is damn good. I’ve seen like 37-38 at the most in my 6-speed Mazda3. Averaging like 33 overall.
5
Would also be hilarious to see a big gay road trip with 9 twinks in one of the base models with 3 rows of bench seating

Tedward Air - 1 J/gK, Water - 4.18 J/gK I swear I didn’t just google that

ND2 Miata for me. Just speaks to my heart the most. But that’s not to say the Boxster and S2000 aren’t amazing.

The R35 is amazing, don't get me wrong, but I can see why many people say it's "too digital" and that it feels like a video game. The fact that it's so good at finding grip does sap some of the personality. I hope Nissan comes out with a successor, though. If they're smart in how they implement tech to improve the driving experience while still making it engaging and giving it some personality (and keep it in a reasonable price range, of course), I think it could end up a lot like how many people wish the new NSX had ended up...and if they make it mid-engined, it could make a cool AWD alternative to the C8...

JLR should offer some kinda heritage/retro design edition on the new ones that mimics this look. Maybe through SVO or something

What a brilliant car. Porsche struck just the right balance here between classic 911 traits and a few steps forward into the future (though I agree with your exterior niggles). As someone made into a car guy because of the 911, I’ve appreciated more and more how steadily Porsche evolves it with each generation, especially as so many automakers race towards the future at breakneck speed. If it were me, I’d go for the base version with the 7 speed manual and the smallest wheel setup.

The 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt SS, what a fantastic vehicle! It was a true gem from General Motors during the Great Recession. The Cobalt SS was known for its sporty performance and sleek design. It really showcased Chevrolet's commitment to producing quality vehicles even during challenging times. Plus, the Mark of Excellence badge just added that extra touch of pride and craftsmanship. A great choice for any car enthusiast!

Wowowowowowowowowow. The Evija’s gotta be my favorite looking hypercar. You see enough pictures of hypercars and they’re all wild and crazy looking in their own ways, but they all blend together for some reason. (Ok maybe that’s just me). But there’s something different about the Evija. I love how the taillights are built into the rear air ducts like that. Just lets the bodywork do all the talking. Hope it drives as good as it looks!

YESSSSSSSS I’ve been looking forward to this one! Looks absolutely epic! And if you think Rainier’s pretty from there, wait till you see Rainier National Park itself 😏 Thanks for bringing us along for the Tedventure!

Kitty go rawr 😼🐆🐾

I’ll admit…I was one of those people who saw Tesla as a threat and viewed them with contempt. But over time I’ve realized they do deserve credit for one thing: they’ve introduced a lot of creativity and originality to the auto industry - so much so that their products can practically market themselves. Enormous respect for that, especially considering the marketing tactics that certain legacy automakers are responding with👀
4
Omg the two tone exterior on this goes hard
4
Absolutely PROPER spec 🤤 will absolutely go down as one of the great automotive designs of our time. Ian Callum’s finest!

I hope you cover some of those oddball Cannonball stories you mentioned at some point. Those honestly seem more interesting to me than just sending it in an S8 or an M5. As for the M5, if I’m honest, it just strikes me as a numbers car. 600 hp! Fast < 3 s 0-60! Amazing G’s! But behind the wheel on everyday roads, about as much fun as that maroon Subaru Legacy. There’s just something...missing. A fun quality at everyday speeds on public roads, I guess.
4
Wow. This thing makes the 992 look like an S Class Coupe by comparison😳
4
Omg I always get sad when I reach the end of one of your vlogs since I wish they would just keep going :(( I guess they just feel shorter than they are haha. Always so enjoyable to watch! Keep em coming! Hope you get some POV footage of the McLaren!
4
Oh I use touchless washes all the time. But then again, my car’s paint was crap when I got it anyway sooooooo...🤷♂️

I actually think it was a smart move by Subaru to keep the Legacy’s overall character more conservative. I think with a lot of midsize sedans trying to get more and more sporty and athletic, there could be a subset of disaffected buyers out there who owned, say, an older Camry and are put off by the some of the newer entries in this segment. However, in this class, I’d personally go for either an Accord or a Mazda6. I wish Subaru would just slightly improve some aspects of this car. Make the handling slightly better but still keep the comfy ride, make the infotainment slightly more responsive and easier to use, make the safety tech slightly less overactive and intrusive. But hopefully these are all things they’ll address in a mid-cycle update.

996!😍 Neighbor across the street from us growing up had one in pretty much this spec but a coupe and let me sit in it as a wee lil toddler, and it was that moment when the car bug bit me!

Glad everyone is okay - that's always what's most important. Cars can be replaced, people can't. And kudos for shining a light on making safety a priority in the car buying process. It's easy to lose sight of that reading stuff like Car and Driver and Road and Track all the time. I'm sure Matt Maran wouldn't have wanted to be in a Challenger either when that tree fell on the roof of his Mustang. I'm lucky to have not been in an accident that bad, but I totally see how your view on safety could change once you've experienced it. And on a lot of freeway entrances and interchanges at least here in the Bay Area, there are these extremely short shitty merging lanes that make it MUCH harder than it should be to merge into traffic. Like you have maybe a few hundred feet. It's ridiculous and I'm surprised I've never seen an accident on any of them. Need to get my civil engineering friends to change that!
4
But those gated shifters tho🤤🤤

And this is why I’m not a marketing major! I could never prey on people’s consumer tendencies like this just to make a profit. It just feels so wrong to me. I get some of the allure of having a car that’s unique, but for me, that’s more about having actual different car than everyone than a different version of the same car as everyone else. Glad you shined some light on this!

@TedwardDrives “Dispatch, we got a runner. I’m gonna need some back up while I rip my burnout”
3
Definitely glad to see BMW at least somewhat found their way back after the F30. I remember at the MAMA rally when Chris told you “don’t even drive” the 330i M-Sport, so I’m a little surprised to see you enjoy it as much as you did, honestly. Personally, I’d be tempted by some of the more off-the-beaten-path choices in this segment like the Giulia or the G70, but of the 3 German players, this would probably be my choice.
3
Wow I would have been scared shitless! Huge props to those firefighters - they've got balls of steel. Glad everyone is okay thank goodness! And about the new G20 3 series, I've heard many people say that the M Sport package totally fucks the ride quality and makes it waaaaaaay too stiff.

Tedward serving Ferris Bueller realness!
3
What a sound! I could listen to that allllllll day! Who cares that it’s not as fast as F30 or the G20 with those lame turbo 4s?! When I read or watch reviews, I find myself caring about 0-60 times less and less. I usually just use that to get a general idea of how fast the car is. Is it under 4s? Between like 4 and 6 s? Over 7 s? When you’re talking a big game just bc you’re .1 s faster 0-60, like come on man, that’s just a dick measuring contest lol.
3
With how many entries in this segment are becoming overstyled, I actually think the conservative aesthetic is an asset. Clean, simple and classy like Honda’s of old! Hopefully Honda improved the manual from the prior gen, though. Prior gen garden variety manual Civics were no bueno! That was a big factor in why I just went for a Mazda3 hatch manual in this segment.
3
Imo, Honda should be focusing less on something like this and more on upgrading the Si with a detuned version of the 2.0T. If the 2.0T is already pumping out ~300 hp in the Type R and ~250 hp in the Accord, then ~230 hp seems like a pretty conservative output level. That’s why I have a hard time buying their “reliability” argument with the 1.5T. Yeah, you get the LSD and the active dampers, but that’s just not enough to justify the upgrade over a Sport hatchback to me. Drop the 2.0T in and keep it a relative value to the GTI, then we’ll talk.
3
Challenger would make for a sick new daily! And so true what you said about so few cars having that soul/fun factor anymore. I’d go Camaro if I was gonna go muscle tho bc I appreciate the handling ability and mag ride. Oh and have you done a vid on an ND Miata yet?
3
Luxury nowadays is tech, sadly (imo) :( It’s less and less about leather, wood, and metal, which puts Mercedes in quite a sticky position. But since automakers do nothing but chase trends and copy each other nowadays, can’t say I’m surprised that the new S Class looks the way it does. I think the current S Class strikes a really really nice balance between traditional luxury lavishness/opulence and cutting edge tech. Next gen S Class looks to be too much of the latter in my opinion.
3
Cool to see someone check out a more base version of one of these. I feel like all I’ve seen on YouTube are the $100k+ Series III Grand Wagoneers with the passenger screen and everything. I’d much rather go for one like this personally.
3
Missing those roads rn! Also that’s an ideal 3 car garage right there
3
In the words of Alex on Autos, paddle shifters on a CVT are about as useful as paddle shifters on a French poodle.
3
@AlexJeffDust-RenAzuma66 True, I’d agree most of the non-EQ models are okay. Same with 2 Series (2-door), 3 series and tbh even the new 5 Series
3
I had a similar work situation. This other lifeguard/swim teacher had a Lambo phone case and just started talking cars with him on our off rotation. We were both driving our families’ old first gen MDX’s then.
3
GTS?! Nick Murray has left the chat

Sick day in bed just got better with Tedward 🤒🥰
3
Something so oddly satisfying about watching the gauges go from 1:00 to 11:00.
3
@TedwardDrives Did you roll coal blasting past them? 😉
3
We love a weekend getaway! Reminds me a bit of some of the Columbia River gorge towns in OR/WA my friends and I have explored
3
I have to say - I think I'm coming around to the new Supra. Do I wish we had a marketplace where cars like the Supra could do well enough that automakers could see enough value in developing them independently? Absolutely. But that doesn't make this Supra a bad car. I'd certainly rather have this than no Supra at all. I hope it does well enough that we might even get a next gen version (optimistic as that is). Love hearing your thoughts, as always.
3
Gladiator is a fuckin beast! FCA actually has some balls, unlike so many other companies lol. Love that they’re keeping their products fun and adventurous, even with the compromises that come with that.
3
And now the next 6 vids in my sub box are all reviews of the new Supra lol
3
I feel you on the draw of CA. There are programs I could pursue through work where I could live there on rotation for like a year and honestly that’s so tempting just for the reason of SoCal car culture alone 😩
