AS A BRIT LIVING IN BULGARIA I have learned that Bulgaria runs better with NO government than the UK does with the Tories
755
I LIVE IN BULGARIA in 2016 we had quite a strong nationalist sector here - they have TOTALLY SHUT UP - Brexit was BRILLIANT for the EU It has demonstrated the absolute economic suicide it is to leave the EU - THANK YOU TO MY FELLOW BRITS FOR YOU MASSIVE SACRIFICE IN THE NAME OF EU SOLIDARITY
223
I LIVE IN BULGARIA they like elections - its a national pastime, you get a holiday for each one. EDIT this is incorrect - they stop alcohol sales BUT being serious - this country runs better with NO government than the Uk under the Tories - 5% GDP growth this year, 4 new hospitals in my city alone, 2 new free universities, amazing public transport, public toilets are better than most UK 4* hotels. And its 33ºC today
215
@RafaelW8 Its completely true - the hospitals are still functioning, no waiting lists, if I want to see a doctor I can see one this afternoon. The buses have just been replaced by brand new battery electric ones. City wide free wifi was installed. The High Speed Rail line to the capital is on schedule and due to open next month - £15 to go 300 miles at 200mph. Dentists here are advertising for clients - £250 for an implant £100 for a white zircon filling - I know cos I just booked some work for Tuesday next week. GDP growth is 2.4% this year Totally different government structure here - its massively devolved, my city is run by the mayor of MY city. My region is run by the governor of the region. Only truly national things and foreign policy are run by the national govt
98
@gnrseanra9070 Thats now maths work - if you destroy your economy the hardest, you will get the highest % growth for a short time. 2016 UK economy 90% size of the German economy 2023 UK economy 70% size of the German economy You have gotten 20% poorer in 7 years
90
ABSOLUTELY NO WAY WILL END IN A WAR Sounds like a cracking and very sensible idea with absolutely no downsides at all... After all, these people love each other
66
I LIVE 100 MILES FROM UKRAINE I have a strange way of telling how its going - the brick & concrete dust When things are going well for the Russian with lots of destruction - our cars are covered every morning with brick dust and the air tastes of brick dust - the last 2 week - NOTHING NOTE - it is seriously shocking that 200 miles from the fighting you can TASTE the destruction...!!! That's how bad its been.
58
I LIVE IN BULGARIA dont let the political situation fool you - things work VERY well here - I found a pot hole last week - reported it on the city app. 2 days later I got a message and a picture to show they had fixed it. Power is VERY devolved here - the national government only deal with truly national issues like defence and trade deals. My city is Burgas - look it up and tell me if it looks like a UK city
45
@jdcsiahaan - Well they should be expelled for starters...
37
I lived in France at the time of the switch over - prices shot up significantly, mostly on food. If you are on a low fixed income it will be a massive % increase for you as and when Bulgaria adopts the Euro. FYI - I now live in Bulgaria and the price of food is going up dramatically over the last three months anyway.
35
Don't worry mate - the entire west is with you with the exception of the far-right nut job Trump supporters in America - we are all pushing our governments to be crushingly strong with Russia. STAY SAFE my friend STAY STRONG...!!!
31
EVERY COUNTRY HAS TO ELECT A DONALD TRUMP before they learn what a stupid idea it is - its not a thing you can learn by watching other countries - you have to do it yourself. And the hair CLEARLY plays a bit part in all of this.
31
@cobbler9113 2016 UK economy 90% size of the German economy 2023 UK economy 70% size of the German economy NO THEY ARE NOT
25
@EmergingEcho Ive travelled the whole country and I didn't see that
23
Lucky you - In 250 miles from the shelling of Odesa - yesterday morning the missiles fired from ships off Sevastopol were making sonic booms as they shot up the coast.
21
@h..8083 - Thats possibly the dumbest comment ever on YouTube. The "Illuminati achieved communism in Europe" WOW - that is off your tits on acid whilst taking a ketamine overdose in a spacesuit on the ISS orbiting Jupiter level insanity... The illuminati - the exact people who would be SHOT by the Bolsheviks and other socialist groups - organised it... Is there ANYTHING the Illuminati did not do??? and is there ANYTHING that is not communism??? Trust me - your comment is getting screen shot and distributed for and wide for hysterical laughter purposes.
20
THE ONLY WAY THIS COULD BE A WORSE IDEA is if you put Liz Truss in change of it...!!!
17
AH you see - thats what you get for 3,000 years of civilisation - good sayings...!!!
17
Im British - But I have lived in your wonderful country for 12 years :-D I can tell you - Britain is just as corrupt as Bulgaria, only they are better at the corruption and the government has legalised most of it. Things that are illegal in Bulgaria - like political lobbying. Are considered a respectable profession in Britian. Sure you dont have to pay the police 50 leva every time they stop you 0- they have cameras for that and you pay the government directly. Honestly its NO WORSE in Bulgaria than Britian. Its just different corruption.
17
YEP - thats exactly what the western media have been doing - preparing YOU for war and backing Putin into a corner. whilst Russian media were NOT getting the population ready for war - the western media was FULL STEAM AHEAD - WERE HAVING ANOTHER WAY - YIPPEEE.....!!! After all - its 6 months since the last one ended
16
@DaDunge - Relying on Russia for gas was a dumb move after they turned the supply of to Ukrain all those years ago and people froze to death. I mean we all know why it was done - greed. Too many people making too much money of the deals...
15
@SittingOnEdgeman - If you ration gas so that wealthy people cant just use endless amounts because they can afford it - like we did in WW2 - it has a massive effect. There are 250,000 heated swimming pools in the UK
13
@firelaf1284 - it does not matter, retailers use the confusion to increase prices. Prices WILL go up on retail goods, mostly food.
13
Everyone did - except the corrupt politicians and ex politicians in Germany LITERALLY working for Gazprom. I spoke to lots of ordinary germans that thought it was idiotic.
13
When Trump is right about your energy decisions - that should be a massive RED FLAG...
12
I lived in France at the time of the switch over - prices shot up significantly, mostly on food. If you are on a low fixed income it will be a massive % increase for you as and when Bulgaria adopts the Euro. FYI - I now live in Bulgaria and the price of food is going up dramatically over the last three months anyway.
12
ACTUALLY - all joking aside they are. I moved to Bulgaria [same windws] 15 years ago and accidentally walked out of a 1st floor window whilst drunk, landed on the concrete 4 meters below, thankfully the "rag doll effect" saved me and I was fine. They also dont use safety glass in doors, I once kicked one shut and put my foot through the glass...
12
ITALY LOOKED AT BRITAIN and said "Hold my Chianti Classico, Vino Noble di Montepulciano"
11
@Silver_Prussian - Здравейте - I am English. I have travelled in 53 countries, lived in France for a while on a yacht and then when I decided to settle down and stop "adventuring" I chose to live in Bulgaria. I have been here for 12 years. It is very far from perfect, but over all it offers [in my opinion] the best balance of quality of life factors and I love it.
9
@Khantia Yeah Id go along wiht that LOL
9
@SK-vw3in Well. 1) people have very short memories 2) America has an uneducated underclass bred by the GOP in the 80's to vote against their own interests 3) Biden is way too old 4) Biden is doing literally everything possible to make Gen Z stay at home and Gen Z are the deciding factor in any election now [see Poland] 5) 87% of people in the USA feel personally worse off than in 2019 so all of this would indicate a Trump win, BUT... America is not a democracy - its is a system of processes that ensure that the top 10% get everything they want and the top 1% don't get their heads chopped off. To get anything passed in the USA you have to win EVERY single level of government, then when it gets passed you have to win EVERY single level of the judicial system - to stop a thing you only have to ever win ONE of these 50 steps. Like canceling tuition fees - ended in the courts. Tax cuts for the rich - sailed through. There is no way on Gods earth the top 10% of society who have built this perfect system over 250 years are going to allow the BOTTOM 50% of society to elect a man who will smash it all to pieces so he can be a dictator for life. The top 10% - and that includes the SCOTUS - will stop him legally and if not they will eliminate him. Multi billion $$$ generational wealth rests on this - they wont allow Trump to destroy the system. this is not Joe Biden V Trump - this is billionaires V Trump.
9
@thelightsilent - I live in Bulgaria - there is zero chance of Bulgaria leaving the EU. 10 years ago the roads were undrivable - now they are like glass. New bridges everywhere. Revitalised city centres, teachers pay gone up bu 300% nurses pay gone up by 300%.
9
@Medicine91 Not true - 90% of all conflicts in the world are a result of U S activity. if you are not associated with the U S and the U S is diminished there will be LESS need to spend on military. If it were not for the U S, we would not be at W with Russia now. this is entirely engineered by the U S - why? What holds the EU back from being the largest economy in the world? Lack of mineral and energy resources - what does Russia have near UNLIMITED supply of???
8
@gnrseanra9070 be quite you are looking foolish
8
@jdcsiahaan - well here is a theoretical argument - IF Germany had been a permanent member of the UNSC in 1939 - would it have been expelled by 1942??? We both know the answer is YES, so there has to be a mechanism, or one can be created by the other permanent members. This is NOT a dispute between two nations that has erupted into war - this is a totally unprovoked attack on a sovereign nation. Im quite sympathetic to Russia in its demands about not having nato on its border and the "promises" nato made not to expand etc etc, but there is NO disguising this. That said the USA did the same to Iraq so you kinda lose all credibility at that point.
8
"Why Russia’s Economic Inequality is Getting Worse" is it tied 1 to 1 to the British economy...????
8
@20quid I LIVE IN THE FORMER USSR NOW - THIS IS THE OPINION OF THE PEOPLE I KNOW Putin has been FORCED into this action by the WEST - he has to. No way can he keep face at home and not do SOMETHING. If HE does NOTHING he loses power and he will be killed or imprisoned by his rivals. HE is trying to stay in power the same way Bodger johnson is trying to stay in power in the UK. Putin has his own "ERG" that he has to placate and keep on his side and JUST like Johnson, its the hard man image that keeps him in power. EXAMPLE - how long would johnsons last if he gave into the EU, and agreed to all the border checks in NI and agreed to let EU goods into the UK with no checks and agreed to EU standards...???? NOT 1 DAY...!!! So Bojo bangs on about article 16 and all that to keep the ERG happy and keep him in his job and Putin HAS to equally keep the nutters in his govt happy and stand up to the west. 100% the WEST has created this conflict and 100% Putin WILL take Donbas and Lychev under the guise of "peacekeeping" - he has NO ALTERNATIVE cos the west gave him no alternative. UNLIKE the EU that was incredibly diplomatic and did NOT force Bojo to use Article 16 to stay in power.

@Silver_Prussian Quote "I wish our country had its dependence to decide for itself not get ordered by the eu" Well - it goes both ways. The roads are now drivable and not full of holes, the street lights work, the city centres are busy, the hospitals are being rebuilt, all thanks to the EU. BUT cos of the EU foreign companies can buy out your Bulgarian food companies, fill everything with sugar and make you all fat - there were NO fat Bulgarians when I arrived 12 years ago, your city centres are looking like any EU city with KFC, Mango, Monsoon, Next etc It is a VERY different country to the one I arrived in 12 years ago - both in bad ways and in good ways.
7
LOLOLOL
7
@geminusleonem9365 As Boris Jonson kept saying "Highest growth in the galactic sector!!!"
7
@danielkirpichnikov2007 why China? China has not been involved in a war in 50 years. The USA has bombed 33 countries since WW2 - why are you including these in the same sentence???
7
Did they riot - NO. their own fault then isnt it?
6
That's cos you are incredibly selfish.
6
I think your analysis is lightly skewed. I dont think Europe has relied on the US for protection. I think Europe has wrongly [and corruptly][ believed they didn't need protection... In the USA the corruption revolves around supplying insane amounts of military equipment. In Europe it surrounds energy. Too many people were making too much money and that blinkered people's view of reality. To admit you need help from America is to admit there is a threat - admit there is a threat and you have to stop using that ultra profitable cheap Russian gas...!!! Good old fashioned greed is at the heart of this.
6
@FidelTrask - Hi - I'm in Burgas - its not high speed. Its designed to be usable whilst you are out and about, but not so fast people will switch off their home system and use it. You can send a picture - get directions but you cant watch a movie on it.
6
Hey Im British living in Bulgaria for 14 years - Im more embarrassed about the 13 years of Tory rule in the UK than I am about the 2 years of issues you guys have had.
6
Im British - ive lived in Bulgaria for 15 years - this country runs better with NO government than the Uk under the Tories - 5% GDP growth this year, 4 new hospitals in my city alone, 2 new free universities, amazing public transport, public toilets are better than most UK 4* hotels. And its 33ºC today NOTHING has been done in the UK for 15 years
6
@BEkov-kd8cf I moved here 15 years ago - it was horses and carts on dirt roads. I cant believe how it has transformed. BUT the cost of food and such is very high compared to even 5 years ago. kashkaval is 17 to 30 leva / kg. Basic bread 2 leva. Yoghurt 1.70 leva
6
@youtubeuser8951 Why did you upvote that comment? Do you REALLY think that comment was worthy of self upvoting...??? I am using miles cos this is an English language channel. 95% of all English-speaking people live in countries using miles. I know this cos I am an author. An American has no concept of what 16 L/100km even is, you write in the language of the audience. DOH.
6
@kol4o1000 When are you coming home...? Every week I meet another Bulgarian who speaks perfect English cos they just arrived back - no kidding. One moved into our apartment block on Monday
