THIS IS THE "COLLAPSE OF THE USSR" MOMENT FOR THE UK no amount of Labour is going to fix this - THIS IS COLLAPSE - Technically it is sigmoid collapse and the UK is now in the near vertical "freefall" part of that. You are experiencing cascading systems failure - everything is broken and everything you need to fix it is also broken. This period of collapse usually lasts about 10 years followed by 5 years of stagnation and then recovery starts. You can invest hundreds of billions £ into the infrastructure, education, science but its going to take 15 years just to START having an effect. The UK will also have to rejoin the EU before recovery can happen. I write books on this stuff and this is a severe "fourth turning" collapse. They happen every 80 to 100 years and this is an exceptionally bad one. The UK is going to have to invest £500 billion if not £1 trillion and totally reinvent its political and governing structures. The Britain that emerges from this depression will NOT be even recognisable. Whilst this is going on there will be the AI Revolution and the Green Energy revolution - 35% of jobs will vanish, white-collar jobs to "important ones|, the UK will have to introduce some form of UBI in this period. There will never BE a "normal" again in the UK, you have engineered the worst collapse at the most complicated and high states paradigm shift in 250 years. The best plan is for the UK to lead the world in this - but I doubt it will.

And we will ALL have to move to steady-state economies, you cant grow for ever, and the planet is over economic capacity already. People talk about China's growth being over its collapsing bla bla bla - but in 2021 Xi announced that China was moving away from supplying the world and to supplying its own people AND it would be transitioning to a "sustainable economy" i.e steady state.

We have brand new glass-smooth roads, electric busses, new fountains, new electric businesses and shops opening all the time, city wide free wifi. Mostly it has a very positive feel of a country that is on the UP. If you have not been in 10 years - you will be astounded at the changes I would think.

  21. I'm an author on psychology and the collapse of civilisations The collapse of the Uk is 13 years of Tory underinvestment in infrastructure, systems, institutions, and Brexit. Exogenous shocks like Covid in Ukraine just exaggerate the situation and hit way harder due to the other issues. The UK will suffer 20 years of decline and stagnation before any serious recovery.

But for ONE accident my family would have been GIFTED BY FORTUNE £1,997,500 pure profit. YOU as a boomer generation had it the easiest of ANY generation in history - that is an objective fact.
