The badges of such ships would had been beautiful I find notable that english language had to make distinction between "sea-mine" and "land-mine", even when the original mine/mining was always done on land.

  21.  @doughart2720  37:37 They are releasing the chocks blocks on the wheels. The engine is at (some?) power, and the wheel is pressing againts the forward block. By bouncing it up and down the chock could be pulled out using a rope. Do note that the airplane starts rolling for takeoff inmediately at 37:49 you can see the sailor on the left wing incorrectly positioned himself in front of the wing, and he was dragged a few feet before moving to the side Cheers

The depth fuse would be unarmed (safety pin), so it would not respond to water pressure. There is an unknown wreck in Palau with pictures of depth charges. search "Helmet or Depth Charge Wreck"

  33.  @Thirdbase9  I often think about this point you are making. I consider the Alaska class the end of the line of "fast battleship" design. Carrier aircraft shifted the priority to better anti aircraft defense. Not more tonnage, not more armour, not bigger guns. Just plain more radar, and more daka. Respectfully.
