  1.  @red05gto1  Depriving cops of their income because they may have done something wrong is illogical and premature. A cop on paid leave is the right thing to do. He/she may be found innocent, meanwhile they still have bills to pay, and if they fall behind on bills they can lose their house or their car, etc. Sometimes cops are put on leave without pay, are pressured to resign immediately or are fired. And being on leave is not always intended as punishment. Even if a cop was clearly justified in using a firearm, they tend to be put on paid leave as the police ensures that it was all legal.

Statehood in PR is controversial and the US will not ascend Puerto Rico to statehood unless the Puerto Rican public unanimously backs it. US does this out of consideration for what Puerto Ricans want, whether it’s a territory or statehood.

If someone was punching my head into the ground as Martin was, I would defend myself in some way. That’s what Zimmerman did, but tragically it was lethal for Martin. Martin for his part should not have attacked Zimmerman, the trial proved Martin was straddling and beating Zimmerman repeatedly. It appears Martin is the aggressor and could’ve done more to avoid hostilities

And the Hannibal Directive is largely an urban legend or misstated by people trying to suggest Israel has no compassion for civilians. This was nothing more than friendly fire made in the fog of war. Hamas and other militia have abused conventions of war routinely, so IDF forces might not trust a white flag of surrender, they may have thought it was an ambush. As for some of the hostages talking Hebrew, do know it is common for Hamas and other Palestinian militia to speak Hebrew, for military and intelligence purposes.
