  26.  @RicArmstrong the U.S. needs to protect interests and allies in other countries, including Syria. We need and have a moral duty to protect good people and bring bad guys to heel. The US will not cede Syria to extremists like Iranian-backed militia or authoritarians like Assad.

If the U.S. is defending oil, it is doing so to protect the resources of our allies, not to get rich extracting oil and bringing it home, the logistics of which would be absurd and don’t hold up under any scrutiny

Israel gave them the whole Gaza Strip, and ended the occupation. How did the Palestinians react? With war and hatred. They elected Hamas and committed terrorism. Netanyahu remembers this, and he remembers the Palestinians committing the Second and First Intifadas in the years prior. Netanyahu believes that a two state solution is just impossible, and he’s not wrong.
