Looncan And yet there are millions of Muslims, refugees, or Pakistanis who do not do that. What of them?
3
People hate immigrants. Sad they have no compassion, what if their country suffers in the future?
3
JC 1026 How did Trump do that when they were falling for years prior to Trump?
3
Petar Vodogaz only Asians
2
***** Or you can pretend that you have a logical argument, when actually you don't.
2
Just come to Massachusetts. The rest of the states all blow
2
Mayur Panghaal you have proof that the Iraq War was based on lies?
2
The Drama Llama there is no proof that this is true
2
Jon Heckendorf i think even when in prison they should be able to vote. Why not? If you get out in a few years, you are going to be a part of society and your voice therefore should be heard. Secondly, inmates losing their right to vote could lead to corrupt judges.
2
Dark Swim why should being a felon mean you don't get to vote? And why should this punishment last for life? How is that fair and just?
2
Dark Swim How does that punishment fit the many crimes? How does it make sense that someone who made a mistake or acted wrong deserves to not be able to vote, for the rest of their lives no less? How is the punishment even relevant?
2
Dark Swim whatever you like to call it, it doesn't make sense. It's arbitrary and Draconian.
2
Dark Swim So then we should amend the laws and justice system to stop it from doing that
2
Dark Swim Your opinion is not based on facts and effect. Can you justify your opinion. What problem would exist if felons could vote?
2
Herb Doobington quit being such an emo and do something about it, like voting
2
Richard Taylor Why do you insist on seeing Russia as an equal? Russia is a dictatorship. And its dictator, Putin, seeks to rule through fear and pillaging. There is no moral excuse for annexing Crimea and arming the Eastern Ukrainian rebels. Why you insist so is beyond me and I am curious why.
2
FreekinEkin2 They are choosing not to get involved, they are acting willfully ignorant, therefore they are not being smart (id est, stupid). Corruption Perceptions Index is an NGO, housed in databases used by Harvard and others. It's a reputable and definitive source. The US has problems, but my point is they are relatively rare and minor, and the US is not corrupt by any conventional definition.
2
Isaac Forsyth I would think Saddam Hussein caused this with him being the dictator and all but whatever. Blaming the West always works.
2
Isaac Forsyth You know that Assad started the Syrian Civil War right?
2
Isaac Forsyth who told you these things?
2
CounterPunch can you give proof of how male circumcision is harmful? It's not harmful. If it were harmful then it would be illegal in the US and doctors would refuse to do it.
2
ItsBallyBoys I agree. Otherwise it might lead to corrupt courts locking up entire demographics. And a felon in prison, especially one who will return to society one day, still is a citizen and still should get their voice heard.
2
Well...this wouldn't be a problem if we had nicer cow sheds!
2
Because objectivity has a liberal bias
2
***** that's stereotypical.
2
Some people act stupid, it's just that some people are stupid and also young.
2
rojas ashlito Because circumcision is harmless.
2
mary jane lastimosa FGM is straight up harmful. That's why it's illegal in the US, and that's why doctors don't do it. Male circumcision is harmless and has hygienic benefits, that's why it's not illegal. You can't compare the two.
2
ACIMessentials you are so full of shit
2
Gary Johnson seems like a swell guy. Maybe there's a place for him. But he's a bad politician.
2
Looncan What you're saying is bigoted, unproven, and does not change the fact that these are peaceful and innocent people who still deserve basic rights and can contribute to the countries that they immigrate to or are settled in.
2
Looncan The stuff you're picking at has nothing to do with Islam, and more to do with being 3rd World. If you magically replaced Islam with Christianity, do you really believe that all those problems would vanish?
2
Looncan What do you think caused the Syrian Civil War?
2
Bettina D. Stupid bigot
2
@jasontaylor8283 Fetterman devoted his life to public service. He lived with his family’s help, but how’s that bad? That makes him a bad person how?
2
Groyper Grifter says who? The government says they do
2
Have some sympathy for refugees. They didn’t ask to be made homeless by war and poverty. It can be difficult also to learn what a new culture means, when you spent decades living in a nation with different clothing, language, customs, etc
2
TheLadyDiazepam some feminists and MRAs are naturally stupid and will argue to the contrary
1
Damn nationalists. They are fools.
1
camabron1 so what? That's just political talk. It's meaningless. Obama has changed his mind anyways what's your point?
1
per sebra Her record is one that toes Democratic policies what is your point?
1
per sebra That shouldn't surprise or repulse you at all, it's completely normal. Hillary Clinton is educated and experience in politics and law, so naturally she has her own opinions, and maybe they are more valid than those of the laymen. At the same time, she is bound to honor the wishes of her constituents, while also considering that they are too ignorant to make decisions for themselves, (which is why the US is a representative democracy). So as a result, her own ideals are tempered by pragmatism and by her constituents. Nothing unique about that at all. Flip flopping is also not that big of a deal. She wants to please her base, so she changes her stances for them. Why is that so bad?
1
chownful why? What's the logic of that? How do violent crimes result in losing your right to vote?
1
Jon Heckendorf I think it's an inappropriate punishment. Why should you lose your right to vote based on whether or not you're in prison?
1
Jon Heckendorf yeah I think that private prisons are wrong and ineffective too.
1
Dark Swim Your speculation without proof is not justification for actual policy.
1
Dark Swim I don't like the idea of it at all.
1
Shut up you melodramatic dumbass. Trump's popularity is not some sweeping movement. To put it into context, around 80% of Americans don't vote in of the primaries.
1
D Bruce even more stupid for people to vote against her because their feelings were hurt.
1
boo hoo their feelings were hurt. Vote for policy not for feelings. So much for anti-PC huh?
