Terry Pratchett and his posse of REAL scientist are still best, as noted in the MULTI-volume Science of Discworld/Folklore of Discworld series that show ACTUAL SCIENCE related and compared to the 'magic', and as explained by REAL PhD physicists.
Interesting things: How about the COVID-type epidemics raging throughout the Universe where there is connectivity all over the place?
Quite frankly, I'm bored by Middle Ages costume dramas without disease just as much as I don't care about Jane Austen, LOTR, Star Wars, etc without smells, disease, just plain cancer and the like. I'm tired of colouring book history, like Cowboys and Indians in Outer Space (Star Wars), in Middle Earth (LOTR), and in even in the US Old West (She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, etc).
(Oh, and IX-Nay on the 8% of Rain-Bay stuff)

As a person who thought they were going to see a epic version of the Story of Beren and Luthien, or the Story of the Simlarils and the Two Trees in Prime's Prequel to The Lord of the Rings twaddle, there are a LOT of other people who have grown tired with lacklustre, hackneyed, "Not Good Enough to Get a Novel Published" Screenwriters in Hoollllllywood, as Bullwinkle would say it.
Even P.G. Wodehouse, the guy who penned such souffles as the Jeeves and Wooster series, was head hunted for Hollywood, and returned to Reality years later with as close to a visceral hatred of that sucking black hole as he could manage.
Let's face it, The Borg is a Get Out of Jail Free card for Really Bad Writing! The Shiny Red Robots of Vortis were FAR more entertaining (q.v., BBC's Hyperdrive).
Did they at least play Floyd's "In the Flesh" for those Nazi scenes?!

Titanic wasn't a Science film, it was a VULTURE CAPITALISM movie.
The various accident investigations through the years demonstrate the $$$$ driven failure of mere TECHNOLOGY. The 'dingbat' explaining the sinking is NAVAL ENGINEERING, not Science, too. Just using the definitions from the "No Physics Progress in 70 Years" you made.
And, the meta-fact that the movie was driven by VULTURE CAPITALISM EXPLOITATION of the initial VULTURE CAPITALISM fiasco ...
(Let's talk bad riveting, $$$ ignoring of coal bunker fire before departure, increased speed to deal with the danger of the coal bunker fire in context, sailors having pay stopped the minute the ship sank, ... all $$$-driven, the $$$ spent on the Song to get "medals, Boris, we win medals!" ...)
No Science, just bad Engineering and Technology driven by $$$ ..., no calculus required, no atomic physics, just mere $$$ E&T ..., that's what let a flawed ship be built and sailed.

Once again, Vulture Capitalism with a different name.
Can't imagine it has improved. The only thing that has changed is probably an increased level of stress in the hiring group, and the proportion of their grants outright CONFISCATED by the institution they work in, for the edification of 'upper management'.
Relatives of mine have taken both tracks, postdoc and direct to industry as PhDs.
The one who had to fund himself, mostly, is the one who went to industry from a school the Ivy League used to ask to join them, and the one with large parental subsidies went postdoc at Ivy League. The differences in their earnings are concrete, and their job satisfaction and stress are stark.
Also, interesting that your experience shows why States of Stupid STAY States of Stupid, cuz politics of the Great Unwashed and the Vulture Capitalist Wannabe Politicians. Funny how there used to be secretaries and file clerks that kept the 'talent' at my workplace doing 'talent stuff'. But now, cuz computers, all that support is GONE and admin tasks take up much of my time, from work control to procedure writing. That's ALSO Vulture Capitalism under disguise.

Gad, you are vicious, and so on point.
Wish I had the math in grade school so I could have tracked on through. Partially my fault because, like alphabetizing, I was absent the day the teacher went over Commutative, Associative, and Distributive, with no attempt made to bring me up to speed.
Later, when I was doing neutron transport theory and radiation shielding coursework, that sorta thing would have really come in handy. Thank Cthulhu for Numerical Methods.
Peter Cook the Great:
"I could've been a judge, but I never had the Latin... I never had the Latin to get through the rigorous judging exams. They're very rigorous, the judging exams, very rigorous indeed. They're noted for their rigor. People come out of them saying, "My God, what a rigorous exam!" And so I become a miner instead. I managed to get through the mining exams. They're not very rigorous. There's no rigor involved really. There's a complete lack of rigor involved in the mining exams. They only ask you one question. They say, "Who are you?" And I got 75 percent on that."

The US is going back to the nativist, xenophobic, Vulture Culture of ignorance, racism, and greed of Pre-WW2 America ... oh yeah, AND RELIGION-DRIVEN BIGOTRY.
The key to the Bigors R Us 2025 Plan is basically remove Medicare, remove Social Security, remove The Great Society, remove all Regulatory agencies, and MOST IMPORTANT remove FDR from the dime.
This is the sub-troglodyte mentality of National Review for the last 50 years, and all those racists and Screw You I Got Mine Nosers-of-The-1%er-Crack have obsessed over it since FDR came to power.
That includes, as you have noticed, the Science Community founded and sustained by the NRDC & OSRD, which we know is just full of "Uppity People Smarter Than Both Us Voters & The Rich".
The Rich Tole Us So!!

Interesting idea about some military training screening tests.
You don't need to be smart, you need to have too much testosterone and be willing to do sometimes illegal, even reckless, things.
The 'correct' answers are what you would recognize as "Artificial Intelligence Doesn't Exist" loaded-gun, clearly-biased issues with the training data.
Needless-to-say, used to be women were automatically at a disadvantage.
Glenn's venal abuse of his elected position was one of the first indications I had that even the space race was rigged, not that he had any better insight.
Then when Reagan and crew helped pressure the launch of Challenger, and a panel let it happen, and then everybody did the ole Good Ole Boy Shuck-and-Jive afterwards changed my vision forever.
I even began believing in the ERA, and also understood that the very existence of the Voting Rights Act demonstrated the continued Jim Crow discrimination in the US, too.
As to ole Werner v B, "'Once the rockets are up, who cares where they come down, Zat's not my depaartment ...',sez Werner von Braun"

Philosophy is a free reservoir of Think Different. I REALLY miss Daniel Dennett, for example!!
BUT, like AI, it requires a degree of comprehension and review by the people hoping to find value in it.
There is no calibrated Philos-O-Meter, analog or digital, to help you out in the most important part ..., other than the philosophers who are eating their young to keep their tenured position. (But, we converged on that, is seems)
The big question is would a 'loving' god use 'mere mortals' like humans in this experiement? Even today, more and more of those 'mere mortals' grant self-awareness to 'mere animals', and then eschew animal experimentation.
Finally, chaos ..., does this god's 'instrument' have NO RANDOM COMPONENTS in the computing device, much less components that will not wear out and break/need replacement with an unquestionably 'different' component ..., if not, why does this god even NEED to run such a simulation, ANYWAY?
In summary:
Talk is Cheap, Grants Cost Ideas and Proposals!

Sounds like I go back to re-watching Queppu, Lallakkists, Red Shiny Robots of Vortis, and Star Fleet command tormenting Capt Mike "Hendo" Henderson on the Camden Lock.
"Kill the Humans, End their Cullture ...."
That and a lot of Asian costume dramas and rom-com series, which are far more innovative and well written (i.e., not scripted by the stagnant, polluted Hollywood scriptwriter pool).
Thanks for suffering so we might live!
Kinda a commentary on US productions that your video sounds FAR more interesting than the actual series you reviewed.
"Brought the word 'Bad' to new levels of Badness. Bad Acting. Bad Effects. Bad Everything. This Bad Film just oozed Rotteness from every Bad scene ... Simply Bad beyond all infinite dimensions of possible Badness ..., Well, maybe not that Bad, but, lord, it wasn't Good!"

I'm an old jack-of-all-trades facility construction, startup, operation, maintenance, modification, and retirement engineer.
I've also had to work with hazardous materials and the required risk management involved at the overall level down to the industrial safety with how to ground equipment to make sure it is energy-safe.
The stake through the heart is the project management, risk management, financial management, and regulatory oversight/management.
How many airplanes take a crash or two to 'get it right'?
Now, imagine that involves a structure that will cause mayhem in Earth orbit and on the ground, involving all the energy, kinetic/potential/electrical/vibrational/invisible pink unicorn, locked up in this system and just looking for a way to leak out!

A LOT of people, especially people with Windows bricks come the end of 2025, would be happy if Microsoft were LESS SUCCESSFUL, LESS DESTRUCTIVE/GREEDY, AND MORE COMPETENT!
For one thing, DRDOS and follow-on product might exist in competition instead of MS having ground them into dust by DELIBERATELY SABOTAGING WINDOWS NOT TO RUN ON THAT SUPERIOR PRODUCT. Oh, and let's not the MS company motto, "DOS isn't done 'til Lotus won't run!"
Gates was a US bidnessman, meaning he is, by default, a crook.
Gates is a billionaire, meaning he used cash to suck the life breath out of his wage slaves for his own use.
