  1. Autobahn is literally just the name for the entire highway system in germany. Nothing to do with unlimited speed or not. Some sections are unlimited, some are not.

  2. Depends on what one means by slow around a corner. They can hold their own against a "heavy" (standard car based) race car with little to no downforce. Not too much but that though, even if the data here is biased.

  8.  @ingvartorma9789  How do you know whats correct and incorrect? Reading it in a book doesnt make it correct,, nor hearing it on the news. There are so many ways information can be willingly or unwillingly transformed in every step of the communication it doesnt even bear mentioning. In any case, even if your last sentence was tongue in cheek, using such totally subjective terms as "lazy" and "accomplished the least" whilst seemingly serious ruins the credibility of everything else. Or do you believe such things can be measured in any meaningful and objective way? You post heavily overestimate what knowledge people have, how deep it goes, and how meaningful it is. As, sadly, evidenced by your last sentence. I am sure you mean well, but you have placed way too much credit in every step of the way regarding what you describe.

  14.  @Astravall  Depends on how you define " a bit of starter action", really. 2-3 seconds is normal in low temperatures, which I would call pretty quick. So if your old cars took longer than that, it has indeed changed. Traction is only very faintly correlated to the quicker TCS reaction time possible with EVs. Its an advantage, but not all that big or even at all if you are proefficient at driving. In some circumstances the EV drivetrain characteristics actually conspires to make traction more of an issue than an ICE car.

  18.  @barryford1482  Hi Barry. Depends on how technical one wants to get... Its the length at the equator that can be said to correspond to 1/60th degree of latitude, not longitude.   19. Its accurate if you live reasonably close to a large population center and work office hours. He obviously havent experienced more rural areas and shifts that start/end earlier/later. But for the majority of population of western europe, what he said holds pretty true.

  20. This is not true, sadly, It varies greatly between models and type of gearbox. Inheterntly, dual clutches arent superior in the power handling department compared to torque converter ones. In fact, VW had to stop selling the 7 speed DSG passat to taxi companies a few years ago, since that transmission couldnt handle even the standard 2 liter engine for the type of driving taxis got.

  22. You have to keep in mind all kinds of people from all over the world watches these videos, I doubt very many of them know the intricacies of the different VAG models of DSG gearboxes... This is the perspective I kept in mind, that some of those people would read you first post and misunderstand.

  25. Done it several times myself, never in a truck though, just car and motorcycle. But the railway cars for those were enclosed. Took about 30 minutes I think?, dont remember exactly.

  30. US often has/had bad Diesel fuel, they are also uncommon so people dont know much about them.

  32. Not for starting them you dont. UNless you are talking about glow plugs, but I have never heard anyone refer to a glow plug as an "engine heater".

  39.  @justincase9471  That make sense, as when I when I was supposed to drive on the GP track a few years ago they made us wait about 30 minutes or so... perhaps it was a bit longer for a bunch of bikes to finish going round, with no explanation evident. This is probably what happened. Oh, thats a very nice ride you got! Myself I have a 2012 BMW E92 335d. This car is an everyday car with all amenities you could get for that year, standard interior and stuff like tow hitch, etc. It is very heavy, but thats not much do about since its still supposed to be quiet for very long trips and towing boats etc. I have made a few mods for abit better driving though that dont take away the usability, such as a remap, M3 control arms and more camber angles, sport brake pads and fluid, Bilstein coilovers and AR1 tires on separate rims which I bring with me in the back seat which I put on when going round. Car can be seen on a short on my channel. Unfortunately I live 1500 km away, so I cant do it more often than once a year. Cheers.

  41. 14:00 Its not the "Torque", thats just a common myth/misnomer; what it really is, is more low end power . If you got a turbocharger, that is. But those comparisons are mostly to petrol cars without a turbocharger. If the petrol car also got one, its not always that different in practice. Now regarding "roll off the clutch", yes AND no. No, in as much as you havent got the turbo spooling yet at idle, so the diesel wont make much power. But yes in the sense that you can get almost any car (certainly anyone you are likely to have driven) rolling on flat ground without giving it throttle from idle.... if you slip the clutch long enough.

  42. Graduate at 15? Not when compared to the US... its pretty much the same age or a year later for comparable school systems in Sweden. "College" starts at 19 or 20 years of age generally in Sweden.

  43.  @terned8893  Well thats likely so. Since the video was from a US perspective and the commenter wrote about Sweden, I would assume they also made that comparison between US-SWE and not with any other country, for example the UK. But perhaps they did.

  47. Depends on what one wants to do on their trip. For some, that kind of charging would be too slow. Electricity is indeed everywhere, but getting access to it, and charging in what many would consider a timely manner isnt always easy. RV parks wont satisfy the needs of many in that regard.
