  7. They hire who they hire. I know a recent high school grad who just got hired as a vet tech. She had no previous experience so they're training her. There were a large number of people who applied but her family is well known in the community so she got the gig . It was a "goodwill" hire since her family is so powerful.

  8. I agree, however I would advise against applying for anything outside of your degree field. An unfocused resume is a big no-no for many employers. It's better to apply for entry level positions in your degree field.

  12. Trade school may be a good option for many job seekers, however it's important to be informed as to what the job requirements are. Most trade positions are gate kept by unions. If that doesn't bother you then go for it. If you don't want to be in a union then the trades are NOT for you. You'll be hard pressed to find trade positions that are non-union.

The unhinged power hungry office Karens will always take offense. I've seen it tons of times. Put everything in writing and learn how to swerve on their drama mongering.

Of course I've never experienced uncomfortable workplaces. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 When dealing with a toxic work environment it's vital to formulate a plan and as difficult as it may be, DON'T REACT EMOTIONALLY BUT STRATEGICALLY. Document everything in writing while formulating an exit plan. That's what intelligent, capable, professional people do. Being led by emotions will only lead to catastrophe. Some of you have the emotional maturity of toddlers.

I have worked in HR for years and am typically the only black woman in the office. Most (not all) HR offices are super conservative and never hire black applicants so I know my career has been nothing but GOD.

Most of these social media loudmouths are going to have to realize that these companies don't want the drama and attention that these social media influencers crave.

  20. If you're totally broke and unemployed I would suggest going to your local Human Services office and applying for food stamps and a medical card. They may also have an employment program for recipients. If you're on Social Security Disability, you may qualify for State cash assistance. Check with your township for rental assistance. They too may have an employment program. As for groceries, I highly highly highly recommend planting a garden. I especially recommend a garden if you love things like strawberries and blueberries. These are very expensive in the store but pretty cheap to grow your own. Plant a garden then can and/or freeze your harvest. After a while you'll be seeing huge savings and be building a sizeable pantry.

  21. Older applicants with a very strong resume are actually highly sought. Bonus points if they have professional certifications and a very deep knowledge of standard industry policies and procedures. I recently retired from a long career in HR. I personally don't really care too much about age when hiring. I like a focused resume that denotes a high skillset. I like professional certifications but I really just appreciate an applicant who knows their career path. These hodgepodge resumes where it appears the applicant just takes any ol' job is a big turn off. Focus is important.

  23. As someone who worked in HR for years, I will say that I really have a disdain for resumes that are all over the place and totally unfocused. If you're just taking any job and have no focus whatsoever then it's an automatic no from me. I really like a resume that shows me a really focused, disciplined applicant. An unfocused applicant is typically chaotic and the last thing I want is to bring chaos into my office.

These tik tok complainers were ultimately failed by their parents. Most parents these days aren't teaching their kids even the most basic skills. Budgeting is important and every parent should be teaching their kids how to manage money and how to use money to accomplish goals.

  32. I don't know why so many people are dead set on working at a corporation. The public sector offers great pay, benefits, collectively bargained promotional opportunities, and in some instances, free college tuition. Civil service is where it's at.

Many awesome young people are getting hired. These profane, stank attitudes complaining on tik tok are likely going to be awful employees and tedious co-workers. It's a no for me. And no, there's no conspiracy to not hire. Again, there are people getting hired. My old office hired a ton of HR positions starting at $60,000 year. These unhireable people are probably the folks the powers that be are going to move to that basic income program.

  38. No. Shopping at farmer's markets is still relying on others for your food. It's also not an option for many on a fixed income. The key to dealing with food inflation is growing your own. Gardening paired with food preservation is how to best deal with the high food prices. Also, smart, strategic shopping is super important as well. A plentiful garden can easily grow a year's worth of food. Effective food preservation can stock a pantry to the brim and fill freezers. I highly highly recommend Acre Homestead here on YouTube for food preservation guidance. Mary's Nest is another fantastic channel when looking to start building a pantry and practicing nourishing traditions. For super cheap meals and discount grocery hauls, I HIGHLY recommend Frugal Fit Mom. Christine is an expert on shoestring budget meal planning. Several of her extreme budget grocery hauls have gone viral. For gardening newbies with questions, I recommend Sno from The Old Mayfield Place. She's great about answering questions. This channel is a must follow for those who have no idea what they're doing.

  41. Trade schools are great BUT the jobs are pretty much gate kept by the unions. I'm pro-union but if you're not, understand that you will LIKELY have to be a union member to gain access to positions in the trades.

Of course, most of the complaining loudmouths on social media are absolutely clueless as to how hiring actually works.
