Lol. You're shopping at the wrong stores. If you're unable to grow your own produce, I highly recommend the YouTube channel Frugal Fit Mom. Christine specializes in extreme budget grocery shopping then shows what all you can make with the cheap eats.

I really dislike when people who've NEVER worked in HR try to give education and employment advice. Every situation is different. In some instances a Master's is a positive and will pay off. In some cases, it would be a huge waste of time and money. It just depends on the situation.
2
@clean_rene You're a bit too over emotional. I honestly don't know how some of you young people function. Everything and everyone is apparently against you then you wonder why you struggle. HR is not the Boogeyman. I actually assisted applicants by offering career counseling and walking them through the application process. No, it's not the part of HR most like but it was fulfilling work and I'm proud of the impact that I made. Prayerfully you too will have a long impactful career helping others achieve their goals.

Lol. The U.S. is not perfect but it's not terrifying, either. If you're low income and have a big medical bill, there are TYPICALLY grants available through the hospital that will cover at least most of the bill if not all. In some instances you don't even have to be low income, just critically ill. People with chronic illness typically have a Medical Social Worker who finds grant money for everything from meds to housing and bills. That's why I side-eye most of the people in this video. Most of them don't sound like they know how to go about getting assistance. Insurance companies are NOT your friend.

There is definitely a trend away from hiring women. I've noticed this. I'm seeing high level female executives being replaced by straight white men. It's interesting. I know why it's happening but I won't get into here. The zesty dude is just unhireable and not because of his sexuality but because of his attitude and personality. He needs to focus on organizations that make a point to hire LGBTQ+ applicants.
2
@AB-my5il No. There are too many incompetent nurses out here k!lling patients as it is. It takes a very special spirit to be a nurse.
2
@TellEmBoi In many (not all) cases, INTERNAL application procedures differ from EXTERNAL application procedures. If the position is a union job, members of the union have contractual bidding rights. Internal bidding is typically a far more straightforward process than applying "off the street." On top of just being an internal employee with bidding rights, some companies and unions have special promotional training programs that will give hiring preference to the program participants. It's a whole thing. Lol. ☺️ On top of internal employee hiring preferences there are also companies that have special hiring programs for EXTERNAL applicants. Everyone from vets, minorities, and the disabled may have hiring preference depending upon the opening.
2
He's a red flag for any hiring entity. I wouldn't hire him for anything; he's drama and will only bring chaos to your office. He should start his own business. He's just not hireable IMO.
2
I don't get it. Berries are relatively cheap to grow. Many folks just plant a few bushes in their yard or garden and eat off them for years and years. It's not rocket science.
2
@memeboat9261 Yes, there are non-union positions but my point is to do the research and make your decision based on what's actually out there. For some, they may be fine with non-union jobs but others may not. Personally, I stress research to ALL job seekers. If you're going to purchase an educational product (degree or certification), it's just good practice to do some hardcore employment and industry research before starting a program. Develop a PLAN based on your research so that you can approach career development STRATEGICALLY.
2
It's weird. I never saw this quiet quitting trend and I've worked in HR for thousands of years. 😂😂

🤣

Find a position that feeds your soul. I wish I could assist you. I want to start my own nonprofit for job seekers but I'm dealing with some annoying health issues right now plus I'll be launching my consulting firm as well. There are so many people needing help in this regard but I can't help the way I'd like. 😞😞

@UserMari45_67 Do you know what hierarchy actually is? It's just the organizational structure of a company. That's it. You have bosses and their subordinates. It's not rocket science. This wasn't a hierarchy issue. It was an office Karen issue. As a black woman who worked in HR for years, I can tell you that office Karens are the absolute worst. I won't bore y'all with my stories but man oh man are the office Karens something else. They take offense to everything but what's crazy is how rude and offensive they are. Seriously. Y'all see all of these Karen videos online and see how they'll act even when there's a camera in their face. Now just imagine them with no camera and the power to hire, fire and manage their own staff. Yeah. Nightmare.
2
Typically if they repost after interviews it's because there's a specific applicant they're trying to hire but for whatever reason, the applicant didn't get chosen. In some cases this is actually illegal hiring. I've said this a million times: illegal hiring is a HUGE problem in HR but nobody seems to give a cr@p. I don't know what the answer is. That said, some titles are posted multiple times because there are more than one vacancy.
2
@DB-vt1kk This! Yuppers! I wish more people thought critically. These social media job seekers are really just about views. They have no idea how to conduct an effective job search and just want to whine and complain for their silly followers.
2
There's nothing - absolutely NOTHING wrong with wanting a nice, clean, comfortable office job. Nothing. Please don't allow others to shame you if you can't (or just don't want to) work a physically demanding job. Let them call you SOFT. Life doesn't have to be hard. If you're blessed with the soft life, be grateful. 👍😀
2
There are many ways to go to college without debt. It doesn't work for everyone, but there are many people going to college debt free. It's totally doable. The problem is that most people aren't willing to put in the sweat of finding how to go about it. Either you have a strong work ethic or you don't. It's not rocket science.
2
A college degree doesn't tell the hiring entity what the applicant's actual skills are.
2
Some hiring entities are more concerned with actual skills than a degree. As I've said over and over, a degree doesn't denote a real skillset. Personally, I like assessment exams. A good prescreening test can tell an organization everything from whether the applicant knows basic math to how analytically the candidate thinks. I've found that a good Mathematical Reasoning exam is a reasonable indicator as to how trainable an applicant is.
2
@heartlessmadness8812 As someone who worked in HR for years I can tell you that some of the most highest performing candidates didn't have college degrees. They were just really really intelligent. We had an applicant who came to my office fresh off a farm with "only" a GED. He proceeded to completely ace every vocational assessment exam he sat for. He sat for over a couple of dozen and aced every single one. He was just so humble and intelligent and had a very bare bones resume but he ended up getting some very good contractual gigs with the State.
2
Marrying a provider (hypergamy) is seen as controversial in this society. Too many young women are under baby mama programming. They seriously hate the idea of being with an actual provider. They stay chasing these dusty baby daddies. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
2
@dmo848 These young folks allow their emotions to drive their behavior. They never utilize common sense nor critical thought. It's all about how they feel and how they feel things should be.
2
These tik tokers make me grateful for God's blessings in my life. He blessed me with many spiritual gifts that I'm very grateful for. Unfortunately, many of these young people are being raised to embrace negative ideologies and aren't being taught what's important.
2
@slavvalb3933 Lol. My hubby and I had a huge garden and we were renting. You've never heard of renters gardening? Literally thousands of renters garden. Gardening can actually be done in containers. A garden doesn't have to look a certain way. It can typically be whatever you need it to be.
2
A college degree tells hiring entities absolutely nothing about your actual skills. How many times does this have to be explained? Many of these folks have no skills whatsoever regardless of the overpriced degree they purchased. Also, the tik tok folks have no idea how to conduct an effective job search. That "banana milkshake" chick sounds possessed.
2
@rezterralico4369 Great advice! Too many applicants with degrees want NOTHING to do with working their way up but traditionally, that's how you got into those upper level executive positions. That said, a huge issue is that too many entry level positions want several years of experience and that's just silly. In my very long HR career I can't tell you how many times I've seen job postings pretty much lying about the requirements. It's rampant, really. Most of these postings are just ridiculous; like this nonsense of organizations requiring a college degree for these Administrative Assistant positions. Absolutely ridiculous. You don't need a college degree to carry out the duties of an AA. The degree requirement is just a way to put a paywall around a good job. So annoying.
2
@Chrissy_Corey My username has nothing to do with me and refers to King Yeshua. How you carry yourself determines how people perceive you and yes, that includes employers. Who in their right mind wants to hire someone hostile and profane? The fact that I have to explain this to you tells me that your parents failed you. Tik tok is showing us that a lot of parents are just absolute failures. I've been getting job seekers well paying positions longer than most of these tik tok ding dings have been alive. An effective job search is itself a job. But you have to have a very solid candidate to begin with and most of these social media applicants are mean spirited. Most quality hiring entities aren't going to want anything to do with those folks. That said, it's super important to acknowledge that not everyone is actually meant to work for someone else. My rudimentary viewing of many of these videos shows me that most of the tik tok complainers would likely be better off launching their own business in their field.
2
The very smart job seekers are super focused and strategic. They treat their job search as a job itself because it is. Attacking me for stating the obvious is the kind of overemotional nonsense hiring entities want to swerve on. I'm not sure why this is so hard for so many people to understand. Firms swerve on applicants who come with social media drama. Most companies just don't want the headaches and yes, firms are doing thorough digs into a candidate's social media accounts. Any social media loudmouth is typically a hard pass.
2
Are y'all following Degree Free here on YouTube? They have some interesting topics on living the degree free life. 👍
2
Agreed. You have a whole generation of young people who were raised by useless crackheads. These "parents" taught their children absolutely nothing IMPORTANT. They don't know how to budget, how to shop nor how to grow their own food. Now they're sitting on social media crying. It's ridiculous!
2
Why are these folks messing with LinkedIn? Am I missing something? I've been in HR for a million years and know no clients using LinkedIn in talent requisition at all.
2
These social media influencers crying online are pretty much unhireable. Organizations view influencers and wannabe influencers as drama and want nothing to do with them. These influencers need to focus on growing their channels and brands because I just don't see them getting anything decent in something non-tech.
2
@jacobmansfield-go9fz Yes, apprenticeships are still very much a thing for most blue collar positions and many require no experience. Now, every market is different. In some areas it may be harder to secure an apprenticeship than in other areas but in general, blue collar apprenticeships haven't stopped being a thing nor will they anytime soon. As a matter of fact, there is an active push for MORE apprenticeships INSTEAD of college degrees. This is happening a lot in the tech industry with some companies hiring high school students for apprenticeships.
2
@MB-xv7er Lol. That's not a thing.
2
Day trading can be a very profitable endeavor for many. You just have to thoroughly educate yourself before starting (as with anything). I love what I do (HR) but I'd like to look into day trading someday.
2
@jacobmansfield-go9fz They don't have to but what do I know? I've only been getting folks into jobs longer than most of these kids have been alive.
2
@jacobmansfield-go9fz Yes, maybe they have to but not everyone does. Companies are still hiring and excellent candidates are being hired. Many companies are choosing to swerve on social media influencers and hostile tik tokers. This is why I try to explain to these overemotional applicants that it's an awful look to be on social media cursing and complaining about their job search. These firms are looking at all of the applicants' sm accounts and are passing on anyone who's going to be drama, stress and headaches. They don't want any profane social media loudmouths and I don't blame them. But what do I know? I'm just an "old fashioned religious weirdo."😂
2
@mpeppermint23 So if I'm part of the problem, I'm assuming you're part of the solution. If so, offer up your wisdom and knowledge that will actually help. Always be wary of those who dole out more insults and criticism than wisdom.
2
@ericcarson342 Because it's not a thing. 😅 Most applicants have no idea how hiring actually works and using third party job apps in 2024 is just dumb. Many (not all) vacancies are going to be internal promotions. The real problem is requiring so much experience for entry level positions. That's a real problem. That said, the social media cry babies are unhireable. They need to focus on being influencers and growing their brands because organizations aren't going to hire them. Social media influencers are drama and firms don't want to deal with it.
2
@Alex-mc5yn I'd bet cash money she's just not thinking outside of the box in her job search. I've seen it a million times. I'd probably be able to find her something (I know of an industry ALWAYS in need of writers and have assisted many) but she comes across very combative and entitled so.....yeah. I doubt she'd be a good fit in most offices. I wish her success and blessings, though. She'll likely find something.
2
@yunisblu3412 Nah. Adulting isn't rocket science for me. I not only know how to conduct an effective job search but know how to budget and shop for awesome bargains. Again, not rocket science but apparently very hard for the tik tokers to get a grasp of.
2
@yunisblu3412 Lol. You're pretty emotional over a bunch of social media cry babies. 😂😂
2
@abbyfrancesparker8738 What makes them entitled is their attitude. It's the way they carry themselves and ultimately, it determines their EMPLOYABILITY. I keep trying to explain this to modern applicants but they seem to be struggling spiritually and that has a massive effect on their job search. They're angry and hostile and the ones with degrees are pretty insufferable. Your disposition determines how you move and that determines what you're ultimately blessed with. One example is when I was working I was ALWAYS having to explain to applicants with degrees that they're not owed a six figure managerial position right out of college. Now, some people do score such jobs but it's just not typical - especially in the public sector which is where I worked. I would typically advise them to apply for entry level positions to get certified (after 6 months) then BID on those managerial positions they were interested in. I explained that it's more important to get in then secure certification. Once certified as an employee, they would have bidding rights. It's the more strategic way to move but don't you know that these skillet heads would get mad and proclaim that they didn't want to come in on an entry level position!! Entitlement clouds good judgement but I'm not going to argue about it. Some people have to learn everything the hard way. Meanwhile, I stay blessed.
2
@abbyfrancesparker8738 You think very emotionally. Those who understand how this works know that thinking emotionally will only bring frustration and stagnation. To secure the career you're aiming for, one must think STRATEGICALLY. Being led by your emotions is fruitless. Not all job seekers are created equal; some are really great at it and some are horrible and unemployable. Most of these social media cry babies are led by their emotions and desire high amounts of attention. What does that tell potential employers? Entitlement clouds good judgement.
2
@justjackie4394 Take up the cross. Lay your hurt, anger and trauma on the shoulders of the King. Please. 🙏
2
@Ryan-wx1bi Lol. Attack of the Luciferian bots!! 😱 Oh no!! Lol! I fear not. Nice try, though. 😄😄
2
@Ryan-wx1bi I'm not a gatekeeper. I was offered many opportunities to be a gatekeeper and declined. I'd rather help applicants which is what my posts indicate. Gatekeepers are more about hiring their own people (illegal hiring). And no, I'm not arrogant just knowledgeable about my field. I actually disdain gatekeepers. HR offices are notoriously conservative so I know my career has been ordained. I'm always the only black woman in the office as most HR managers don't typically hire black applicants. I'm quite confident in my skills but no, I'll never be a gatekeeper. You seem very very angry and hateful. I'll pray for you and others who are struggling. I too struggle but my faith has brought me through some catastrophic issues.
2
@harsh3948 They're angry because angry is their default setting. The smart, EMPLOYABLE young people are not angrily venting on social media; they're out here snapping up jobs left and right.
2
@luna_soleil I actually halfway agree with this. There's certainly an argument for precedent here. Living in the digital age are we going to see more employees suing for wrongful termination due to their Internet shenanigans? From a legal standpoint, I think this may become a thing as more and more people turn to the Internet for a side hustle. Companies need to start outlining in their bylaws what online behavior is tolerated and what isn't. Without that language they could be vulnerable to lawsuits.
