  17.  @aaronadeboye4626  Medical degrees are no longer academically rigorous and the barrier for entry has been progressively lowered over several decades to enable anyone of average intelligence to become a doctor in dumbed down Britain. A first year trainee is paid £14.10 an hour and the rest which equates to approximately £40k a year. The hourly rate rises sharply every year thereafter. NHS doctors are among the highest paid in Europe but deliver one of the worst services in Europe. British taxpayers are not getting value for money and are being well and truly shafted by the medical “profession”.

  25.  @psps2034  their counterparts 15 years ago were grossly overpaid after the bungling Blair government gave them a 40% pay rise in 2004 and 10% pay rises between 2005 and 2008. Any imaginary “real terms pay cuts” (the idea that pay rises should match inflation is patently absurd) would not be enough to offset the hopelessly unrealistic pay rises awarded by New Labour over the preceding 4 years.
