  1. Silver Qilin — LOL! I understand the reason for testing the suspension. There are many things Jeep does well. What I find myself trying to focus on is any indication on WHY. I would bet that the reason for the testing is to ensure its ability to last past the warranty period AND THEN FAIL AFTERWARDS. Down line post-warranty revenue matters! (To them)

  8. This may be the end year (2020) for the Montero/Pajero/Shogun by Mitsubishi. Their annual production for that model had dwindled to under 1000 units worldwide. Nisan is shutting the thing down.

  9.  @BB-nn9en  — Maybe possibly (unbelievably) Jeep is producing better transmissions. Go for it! Just keep us informed of the reliability. If it survives past 50k miles I might reconsider purchasing one. 😁

  10.  @BB-nn9en  — Might Be, but still doesn’t change what I know from years of off-roading. Jeeps are well designed for off road use, but are not reliable. I have never been on a trip where multiple Jeeps breakdown. They slow everyone down, cause multiple trips to town to get tools and parts, and while you may have faith in their transmissions, what about the springs, shock mounts, struts, engine mounts suspension components, etc. I get it, I LOVE to drive them! But I can’t bring myself to own one.

  13. rik999 — LOL! I didn’t mean spontaneously you silly goose! Many years ago I owned a Suzuki, it ran great, but if it fell or got knocked over you had to replace the turn signal lights on that side. I got cut off once and had to lay it down and so did my girlfriend on her Honda. We were both fine, but my bike needed to go to the shop, AGAIN, as both turn signal lights, the rear view mirror and the muffler bracket all had to be replaced. If the wind blows hard, if you bump something, if you get too close to a bush, you have to spend $100 to fix something. But her Honda experienced only a few scratches, the turn signals, the mirror, were all on rubber or rubber over spring mechanisms and simply folded back, the outer edges got scratched but everything was fine. Her muffler was attached with a rubber over metal bracket, a yank fixed it. Suzuki's muffler is balanced on the side with a plastic bracket. If you LOOK at this video, you see the same type of components on each bike, plastic that has thin points where they are meant to be snapped off and NOT BEND. Honda’s and other components are meant to bend back, and usually snap back into place after any minor bump or drop. Yeah, yeah, I know... just a few bucks. But over time while I owned that bike I spent $300-$500 or more each year on minor UNNECESSARY repairs, that no other motorcycle manufacturer makes their owners do. Sorry, good bike, bad design IMHO.

Or any other acronym like USA, its not just me, I use iOS devices most often, and capitalization is automatic for known acronyms. That and one of my degrees is in journalism so I know you do capitalize acronyms as a matter of grammatical correctness. So, perhaps my statement about your being a dolt and a troll is correct for you both? LMAO!

  19. Robert Bates — I only crashed it once in 7 years. Everything else was minor, had to lay it on its side. All other breakage came from my bumping it accidentally with my leg, bumping it against something like a branch or car as I took it out of the garage., accidentally thinking it was balanced on the kickstand and it fell, or similar minor goofs. And it was broken by strangers three times when someone else’s bike bumped it at a restaurant or whatever. They are designed to snap off, look at the plastic stalks, they all have a thin point in their design. And I’m glad you haven’t had any replacements, they are somewhat inexpensive but at $50 each, maintaining them is an expense I’m glad you have not had as they add up!

Just look at the new Defender (well one year old now) reviews and ownership videos here on YouTube. Absolutely AWESOME off-road, TFT’s vehicle had to spend its first three months in the dealership fixing different things. We will just have to agree to disagree on this.
