45K SUBS! Vanessa, we've been watching you grow your channel since the early days. You've come a long way. We watch each week and are rooting you along.

Confucius say: A Friday without The Mindful Narrowboat is like a day without sunshine. Let the Sunshine in! (The Fifth Dimension) Happy Day Vanessa 🌅

Vanessa, Today is June 19th and I just wanted to tell you, in case that you feel under appreciated, that we really missed seeing you this week. But please, no pressure. We appreciate just how much work that you put into this project. We just want to say that of all of the narrowboat vlogs that we watch...well you are are favorites. Thank you.

I just adore the Queen in this episode.

Hi Vannie! I believe that I mentioned that our dog Henry enjoys watching watching your vlogs. He barks with excitement at every sighting of sweet Zephyr. So today, at the conclusion of vlog 150, Henry was watching as you drew Zeph and he recognized her at the 16:20 mark "...I work with her laid on my feet". That was the progression of the drawing where he saw a dog. It's validation that your artistic viewpoint transforms into reality for our dog Henry. Good show, well done. Each week you give us a breath of splendor. Thank you.

Vann, My favorite part of this vlog is when you speak to Zephyr. You say her name and her eyes are wide, then you say another word that she seems to recognize-"vet" followed by a noticeable reaction in her eyes. It's like she was suddenly saddened. This is quickly followed by "go for a walk" where she cocks her head and her eyes open wide again. It's priceless! Such a good dog!

Vanessa, You are a marvelous nature photographer. One of my dogs watches your vlogs for Zypher and other animals. The long fox sequence had him barking his head off for the entire sequence. My wife usually guesses your featured subject for each vlog's poem but this week had us befuddled due to so very many likely subjects. We both recognize and appreciate your great talent. Have a lovely fall week!

Vanessa, You are at the top of your form. Fantastic editing, lovely photography. It's my lovely weekly escape. Wildflowers on your fender is a sight I'm looking forward to. Making a Pig's Ear is not an idiom that I am accustom with, at first glance I wondered if you were cooking pork. 😜💐♥️👍🏼

Vann, We just love it when you stop and talk to people and when you take us all along with you when you walk through

Happy Five Thousand Subscribers!🎉😁🍾

The dance and following instructions...two new personality reveals.

Vann, That was a very very scary tunnel. I've watched many canal vlogs and I don't think that I've ever seen that one. It had that ominous look with that tiny dark opening with that large flat wall to the starboard side. I've seen less scary sewer pipes. After all of your vlogs, you absolutely continue to amaze me. Although you have a mighty 10K sub base, I believe that you are still an under-discovered worldly treasure.
5
You've come a long way Vanessa! I'm proud of you.

A nice hardy breakfast Miguel!

Dear Vanessa, Please don't even consider ending your narrowboat vlogs. They are wonderful. I simply love them. Especially in this horrid pandemic when we all need peaceful calm. I don't tweet because until just recently Dirty Donald Trump dirtied the twittsphere with rudeness, so in protest I chose not to participate. Here is my contribution to A Brew with a View and a Haiku - Mindful Vanessa Artistic nature lover Gongoozler enchant Additionally, a game that I play with your vlogs is to look for your husband in the background, at the helm and in the shadows. It reminds me of how I search for Alfred Hitchcock's cameo appearances in his films. Such a mystery for sure.
4
Thank you Vanessa. Alice Grace is looking like a fragrant and lush garden paradise. So beautiful 💐 Lovely poem, you are so very talented.
4
Vann, That was a lovely vlog. Superb editing! We watch several narrowboat vlogs and as nice as they all are, yours stands above them all. Your vlogs are art.
4
Well observed. If all of you boat-tubers coordinated and had Vanessa & Zephyr as special guests on your own vlogs, well that would give her some needed exposure. Let's work to get her to 2000 subscribers by years end.
4
@NarrowboatCruisingLifestyle Aha, an appropriate idiom NC&L. But, Vanessa is a vegan so let's just give her a lift to the store to buy some raw cashews so she can make vegan cream.☺
4
V, I think the title Nil Poi Turn was so alien to average viewers hence lower viewership. You are a star. Keep on chugging.
4
I love the idea of a daisy. I knew that you would come up with the best idea. And Mr. Alfred Mindful Hitchcock makes his longest appearance yet. And his voice! The mystery man is gradually showing himself. Slowly peeling away like the layers of an onion. Have a great week.
4
Thanks but I was just a random name in a virtual hat. But it was so nice of you to say so. I just love this vlog. I'm looking forward to the upcoming journey. Aren't you?
3
Vanessa, You are always so sunny. I really admire that. It's inspiring. Other boaters would have been whinging the entire vlog about that bumping. From my limited perspective I perceived that other boater was being deliberately aggressive so if I had a vlog I to would be whinging as well. 😜 My better half commented to me today that if we should ever meet a narrowboat vlogger she would like to meet you and have a coffee together. We watch a lot of narrowboaters, but she chose you. Also, how is the bio diesel experiment progressing?
3
Congratulations Vann! This vlog (#81) is now your all time viewership leader. You just surpassed vlog #42. It's apropo that you entitled it " Leaving It All Behind! " Perhaps this is the beginning of the end and soon you will be leaving this relatively obscure status of loyal YouTube viewers for BBC Stardom. 😍☮️🌹
3
OMG. I was wrong again. 6.2 K views on vlog #35. Perhaps the last vlog that you did will surpass that this week. I have to be more careful with my facts, as you may remember this seems to be habitual with me. Sorry. At least I'm cheering you on!😒
3
Thanks Chris, I wonder just how good the water is at each water point. One would think that a filter of some sort is an absolute necessity.
3
Vanessa, You are so clever. Thank you for taking the time to give us all a good time.
3
Vanessa, that was a particularly outstanding poem. You write books all of the time for your students, perhaps you should publish a book about your Mindful Narrowboat experiences and include your journal entries. I know that you have the talent for that. Have a wonderful week. Let's circle May 7 for the 2K celebration!
3
Other boat-tuber vlogs pale in intellectual curiosity. This is inspirational sublime excellence.
3
Congrats Vanessa, It's so hard to pick my favorite for your fun drawing. Plant Prunus spinosa (aka Sloe) and Zypher the canine and Marsworth the swan are my favorite animals. Have a wonderful week!
3
Vanessa, My wife and I marvel at your poetry. It's the highlight of our week! I read a book in the mid 1990's titled Deadline Poet by Calvin Trillin. He was an American political humorist that wrote a weekly satirical piece for The Nation. It was very funny. In a large way, it reminds me of you. Here you live your life as a continuous cruiser, you teach, and yet you find the time to assemble and film and edit to create this wonderful vlog each week. All of that plus you write this marvelously appropriate poem. And Mr. Trillin only had to write a political satire poem, and he likely had a staff. I'd say that it is you, Vanessa, who are the true Deadline Poet.
3
Vanessa, You are the hardest working narrowboat vlogger on YouTube. It shows!
3
Jeff, please promote it. I was equally perplexed when there were about 500 subscribers and I promoted every day for 3 weeks or so and the number of subscribers doubled. The places online where I promoted got tired of me beating the daily drum, so I stopped.
3
The Ducks are quacking. Congratulations Vanessa on Two-Thousand Subscribers. Keep on going! .♥️🐕🦆🦢👧💃🤸♀️🎶🎶🎬🎥🎈🧨🎇🎆🎉👢 I'm so happy for you.
3
Thank you Simon. So nice of you to say.

She's a STAR Kelli! A natural.

...and what a beautiful simple life it is!👍🏼♥️🕊️

Dear Vanessa, I CONFESS, I’ve cheated. Allow me to explain. I thoroughly enjoyed your vlog this afternoon and was inspired to compose a haiku about the mallard. First, I jotted down several key words and phrases. I got stuck on just how many syllables were in the word dabbling. Was it two or three I wondered? I went to Google and found an intriguing haiku writing website. It was just too tempting. I just plugged in a few of my key words. And voila, a haiku better than my so far developed draft. You know Vanessa, come to think of it, this is not the first time that I was accused of cheating on writing a haiku. It was in middle school grade 8. I had the terror of the entire school teaching my English class. He was always shouting and picking on and embarrassing the students. This was 1968. He often carried a heavy yardstick and although I never saw him striking any students he sure knew how to scare us. If a student was foolish to be caught not paying attention the teacher would slam that yardstick on the student’s desktop. When our homework was to write a haiku he instantly outed me for cheating and got me to confess that my father “helped me”. My father pretty much wrote it for me. I’ll never forget the terror and the shame. The website is: https://www.poem-generator.org.uk/?i=riaf0rw and the one trial finished product is: Mallard - A Haiku by Anon Watery winter A dabbling mallard rasp whilst watching the drake PS: Dabbling – three syllables above and howmanysyllables.com says two.

Another gem Vanessa. I would never think of timing myself while performing an unfamiliar task. I don't think I could handle the disappointment 😁
3
Vanessa, You outdo yourself each week! Simply beautiful!
3
Just beautiful!

WOW...3...2...1...BLASTOFF!!! Nessie, I just checked your views and my eyes popped out of their socket. What happened? Perhaps people are living vicariously through you when you titled #92 Why I Quit My Job for the Narrowboat Life. People really want to quit their jobs for sure.
2
Yes, Will. I was surprised to see that myself. If the tank is contaminated what can a narrowboater do? I wonder if a Britta or Zero Water counter top filter would fit tie bill here?
2
Wow, that was harrowing! Ah-ha- we saw Hitch's blue plimsoll.
2
@themindfulnarrowboat Thanks Vann for a challenging game of Where's Wally (he's called Waldo in America). I must admit that I missed it and it was fun finding a partial view of Hitch standing on the well deck with a punt stick. I'm guessing that the young man in the photo on the wall is not Hitch, however since he has his back to the camera I suspect he is an offspring to the elusive mystery man. Thank you for another entertaining vlog.

@themindfulnarrowboat Yes, Vanessa. Floating Our Boat is a lovely vlog. Additionally, I’ve noticed that some of the well established boat tubers are slowing down. Those hungry viewers will be seeking out other vlogs to satisfy their narrowboat cravings. David John and Kevin Shelly still command many subscribers, and Minimalist recently announced their moving on. It would be wise to partner with them so they could pass the torch to you and give their loyal viewers a place to go rather than just dropping off.

...towns and villages.

@themindfulnarrowboat Vince, this is one of the top boat tuber channels and it 100% vegan ad free.
