The very foundation of the death penalty is rooted in emotions. There is no logical, rational or beneficial reason for capital punishment. It's more expensive, its not a deterrent and it doesn't lower crime rates

  13. Gracius T Agnostic is a knowledge claim, not a belief. An agnostic says "I don't know." Everyone, atheist and theist, should be agnostic. Most atheists are agnostic. They don't deny a God may exist, because they don't know, but they do not believe in one.

  37. So here's the thing. You're story is sad, and I'm glad you were able to make it out okay. But when you phrase it like "pro abortionists feel it should be aborted" you invalidate every one of us who was not as lucky as you were. You may not regret your mother's decision, and you may be strong enough to get through. But not all of us are that lucky. My mother wasn't allowed to have an abortion and because of that, most of my childhood was destroyed by abuse and sexual assault. I cannot live a normal adult life because of the torture my mother put me through. Even though I'm alive, and have actually made what most would consider a decent life, it was not worthr the suffering. To claim that just because we support the RIGHT for the mother to choose to abort must mean we don't view life as valuable or worth something is actually quite ignorant. And its condescending to those of us who are worse off physically and mentally than you. You cannot miss something you never had. Had you been aborted, you would have lacked the capability to care.

Also, until we fix the adoption system, abortion benefits society and is a better alternative to neglecting and abusing a sentient child. Capital punishment has no uses. It's a strictly visceral emotional response. No one is okay with abortion. We wish it didn't happen. But we understand why a woman would choose to have one.
