Overworking most likely killed that poor young doctor. :(

Indeed, this virus will Save european governments huge of amount of money for years to come. I think that s why they are giving it a free run.
8
Statistics. U only need to lower R to below 1 to stop the spread. 14 days given what we know now is still optimal. Nothing in life is certain. It s all about playing the odds intelligently.
6
@lestatangel : sure. they r evil and u r in the know.
6
Italy s out of control. Does the Rest of Europe want to be sitting ducks? Seems so. :(
4
@googlereviewer1944 by choice?
4
It has hardly spread anywhere apart from China. 99 percent plus in china. No deaths outside China, and inside it s about 3 percent. What s the fuss?
4
And Internet shows that few people take that advice
3
@Stranglerxx77 : Country PrisonPopulation per 100,000 US 2,293,798. 737 CHINA 1,548,498. 118 RUSSIA 874161. 615 1949: US population=150mil, Life Exp=mid 60s. China population=450 mil, Life Exp=mid 30s Now: China pop=1400 mil, Life Exp=mid 70s, with longer healthy life span than US (WHO report). Infant mortatliy dropped from 240/1000 to 8/1000 in the Same period. Literacy rate also now almost 100% from 20% in 1949.
3
Mmm...D and G...can we trace when and where this happened?
3
Any comment on Sweden's Herd immunity approach? Its death Rate seems to be 11 percent but the curve has flattened without severe lock down. Is it going to work?
3
Not to mention it s a small Island...not Everoyne has that luxury
3
Stay away from cities. For so many good reasons.
3
@janetairlines1351 : how so? https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/geographical-distribution-2019-ncov-cases Show us on the timeline at what points did the WHO fail to do anything?
3
WHO is not God. It gives advice based on the best known AT the time. That some people are top arrogant or too stupid to heed the advice is a totally different matter.
3
It s ironic that it s Communist China that has been not exporting poverty, starvation and refugees all over the West and now it s Communist China that s keeping the outbreak (affecting an 11-Million strong population centre) well contained within its border. Do u seriously think any other 'free' 3rd world sh**holes would do better? Or r u willing to welcome and liberate all these potentially diseased and desperate Chinese with open arms?
2
Would u be any happier with them if they did tell the world to lock down? Do u even know what that means to your life? This crisis has shown that the world is full of, absolutely full of, reponsibility free loud mouth mean spirited retards. And they dont even know who they are cause they r that thick.
2
I fear that the good doctor's faith in the integrity of the companies and people developing these products is misplaced. The lack of corporate accountability in the system, absent for AT least 3 decades and getting worse, means that it s one way bet for them. Heads they win. Tails you lose. The public health risk of an vaccine is huge. Political expediency + skewed monetary incentives + public desperation is s receipe for disaster. I hope i m wrong. But....
2
Pigs might fly too.
2
See no evil hear no evil. No testing means no problem. It s a strategy i guess. H1N1 pandemic was handled this Way by America. Maybe they ll get lucky again.
2
@user-uy6uc5ey5q wow. I guess this is a revenge of the poor and the maltreated.
2
Yet there re 1.4 bln of them...so maybe it helps them
2
2 and both Chinese or from China anyway.
2
@robertdunlap4975 These commies have been far more right about China and the Chinese in the last 90 years than their enemies though, let alone random retards who are all mouth and no trousers...harsh but true.

Most people, never having to stake their money or reputation, have an extremely unhealthy relationship with theory/facts. That is, no respect whatsoever for facts and reality and just go with whatever tickle their baser instincts. Scientists, doctors, investors, etc. of which i am one, get slapped in the face by reality all the time. So habe developed a healthy respect for facts. The rest just believe whatever they like, the hell with facts and evidence. Not having to ever risk anyhting and being protected most of the time in effect from the worst of life, these zombies never need to wake up. U d think at least they can do us a favour by not polluting serious discussions with their puffed up tripe.
1
And meanwhile, still only a handful of cases outside Asia and hardly any deaths. Someone s exaggerating and benefiting from the hype.
1
Really? Dutch courage indeed.
1
@Vivianvixxen Gas masks? OK. That s a bit too much. I d say...what a prick. Lol
1
Coughing? U'd better take care
1
U r falling for the usual anti-chicom Chinaman s lies. 70 years of making a living lying to the West and misinforming the world about Chicom's China. Dont believe me? Just watch how this episode devleops and how many of their lies come true. Chicom is no saint but anti-chicom Chinaman have even less morals and scruples. My policy on this is to stick with the devil you know, especially the devil that is in the limelight, will be held responsible and literally has no where to run.
1
Taking the data outside China , together with the likelihood of under Reporting of infections inside China, the death Rate of the disease s probably minimal??? One more Week of the Same pattern surely would Make it the conclusion Hard to deny?
1
Keep praying.
1
Lol. Go back to school.
1
If only the european governments habe taken it as seriously as the good doctor here... :(
1
H1N1 in 2009/10 that was a pandemic. Google it. And compare and contrast
1
The death Rate so far is very unbalanced. There r now twice as much cases outside the origin city Wuhan. And it s been 2 Weeks plus now. Yet overwhelmingly, most of the dead are in that city. There IS vurtually none outside that Region and definitely none outside China. So what s behind that?
1
Seems very localised both in terms of geography, demography, and patient profiles (for severity). Read about the H1N1 outbreak of 2009/10 and weep.
1
It s kind of awe inspiring to see how research tries to keep up with the virus in real time. Can only thank the professionals dealing with the crisis on the front line and in the labs. Meanwhile, the ignorant masses and the media continue to make me question why bother...does human deserve to be saved? Maybe it s time to give other creatures on earth a chance!
1
Thanks for the info. Best of luck! Our thoughts are with you. God bless!
1
Stil not really spreading, is it? How many outside China? How many died? How many non-Chinese? And within China, how many outside the disease area? How many dead?
1
Your optimism is commendable. But the crisis has expos d so much uglisness in humanity, i doubt it s worth saving. Have u considered the possibility that we are the bad guys? And nature is desperately trying to fight the cancer that is us?
1
For those who decry WHO...it doesnt have armies to force governments and people to Stop behaving irresponsibly. And if they do, am sure the Same people would be pontificating about freedom and interference from unelected jonny foreigners etc. etc. Talk is cheap. What can you offer or do for the world?
1
That s good news at least.
1
Ronda Leistiko u got pollution from China?
1
My partner is a doctor in the UK, her mom is an HIV pharmacist and my sister is a researcher on viral meningitis in New Zealand. Like the good doctor here, they are horrified by the misinformation being spread, especially the ones that use pseudo-scientific terminologies and cite publications that are clearly greek to the spreaders. Yet the human appetite to will juicy misinformation to be true is primal and irresistable. Coupled with our inate defficiency in understanding the rule of logic and what constitutes proof, one can only marvel at the fact that the scientific revolution has managed to happen at all.
1
I think the little Experiment so far says the world is too connected now for isolation and containment. All it takes is one or two weakest links in the chain. Am unfortunately travelling atm, constantly amazed how addicted people are to moving around, often out of boredom, nothing else. Sigh. And the lack of precaution by people (in Europe anyway)...
1
The irony of the religious sect...not sure if to cry or to laugh.
1
Google says the vaccine was apporved for Chinese military at the of June. What s the trial period to test a vaccine? Also given low prevalence, event numebrs must be low and slow to build up. Surely it s faster to test it in America or Brazil or India.
1
Debunked. Most virus have those in their sequence. It s like saying i have this DNA/RNA segment and the red cabbage hase it too. Therefore i am made from the cabbage, and vice versa.
1
@ashyosings5089 As far i know the indian scientist who originally raised the issue has withdrawn his claims and accepted peer consensus/counter-evidence. I'm not qualified. Though I m a physicist by training...so i do know something about research and the nature of proof. My sense is that this is pseudo-science bullshit. But you can keep track of development on the topic and see what happens.
