List those all too on their state ID? Why not have your entire DNA sequence stored on your ID? That should clear up any biological ambiguity. When someone starts hormone replacement therapy their entire endocrine system is no longer operating as did previously and X chromesome gene expression starts operating. Endocrinology is biology. Dozens of countries in the world allow trans people to change their gender on their legal ID and allow trans people full equality under the law. That’s not a minor and it’s made a substantive positive impact in the lives of trans people.

  7.  EccentricSage  Endocrinology is biology and everyone has an X chromosome and the SRY gene actually does very little aside from spinning up the endocrine system. It is so unimportant that some mammals do not even have a Y chromosome. What is and what isn't biological sex is not so simple. There are a dozen intersex conditions: 5-alpha reductase deficiency, AIS, CAH, Klinefelter, mosaicism, KRKH, Swyer, Turner, etc. If someone wants to make any medical condition known they always have the standard option of wearing a medical alert bracelet. If not, there is no expectation of liability by EMS in the vanishingly few instances where in the stabilization of a patient such determination would matter and would clearly be held harmless in a court of law in such cases. The point of legal identification is not detailing someone's complex medical history, of course. I see trans women as women. They are not deceiving me in the least. You're welcome to think otherwise.

  14. ARSD, That many people would not go somewhere due to the humane attitude to trans women in that location, says quite a lot about the morality of those people. Makes me sad for the trans people obviously afraid to come out of the closet where you are without the resources to move away. Go to Thailand. Air travel is cheaper than ever. It’s an amazing place.

This is about legal equality and equality under the law for LGBT people which the Philippines does not have and most western countries do have, brought to you by those dumb people who make all the advanced technology you own and who make this entire conversation possible. I have zero interest in you accepting me. Bottom line is that the west does right by their LGBT citizens in a much better way than the Philippines does.

  22. I think people should do exactly what they want to do as long as it isn't illegal. There are millions of trans people in the US spanning the entire spectrum of crazy and disrespectful to not crazy and respectful. As always, it depends on the individual.

It’s important to demonstrate that there are men that honor, respect sometimes love and sometimes even marry trans women. Being a trans woman is not easy and there is a world of hardship and disrespect that they face. If we won’t support them, who will?

It seems like you understand that LGBT discrimination in society is wrong (no same sex marriage is discrimination) but you won’t dare consider the possibility that religious leaders are simply incorrect for perpetuating terrible public policy. LGBT people deserve full equality under the law. It’s not as if there aren’t plenty of things that were accepted in ancient times like slavery that are condemned today.

  32. No complaints here! Given that we don’t want to adopt a child there won’t be any trouble at all. Other LGBT couples that do certainly face many challenges in Thailand. Thailand will get there, but there is no shortage of political problems slowing everything down.

For me, that’s great. Much less competition. I mean...
