If someone looks like a woman and tells me they are a woman, they’re a woman to me. Simple as that. I’m not in possession of any biological facts when I meet someone. You’re running karyotype tests right on the sidewalk are you?
3
Nothing wrong with SRS. For trans people with dysphoria it is incredibly helpful.
3
If they look like women, act like women and think of themselves as women what’s the difference?
3
@rosebud4387 It's an issue for trans people every time they use the restroom, unlike non trans people. Ipso facto, it impacts trans people more than non trans people. The difference is you don't care about trans people at all, and I do. Therein lies all the difference. Trans women are women to me. In most of north america and europe it's the law the trans women are legally allowed to use the women's restroom.
3
It’s sad that elsewhere in SEAsia LGBT people remain so hidden.

@MrSnoopydupy Do a google image search for "women's vs men's shoe size distribution" and you'll see there is quite an area of overlap. There is even more of an overlap in Thailand as Thai men vs women are much closer in shoe size than their more sexually dimorphic European or American counterparts. The average US women's shoe size is actually 8.5 which is EU 39. Ladyboys are generally on the smaller end of the male population distribution as well. In addition this preassumes that the trans woman in question wasn't taking androgen hormone suppressors during adolescence. No/less testosterone exposure, no/less outsized enlarging of the hands and feet. That's just how it works. I have no doubt that on average that Thai ladyboys feet are somewhat larger than cisgender women's feet. All the same there are many cis women with large feet (particularity those with PCOS or whom are overweight) and there are many cis guys in existence that are just small and consequently have a small shoe size.

Trans woman are women to me but if you’re not into trans girls, just put that in your dating profile. Problem solved.
3
It's not easy to get interviews with the three famous Thai trans girls in the thumbnail.
3
I’ve seen plenty of less attractive women.

What’s gross about LGBT people? There are LGBT in every country in the world. The difference is how they are treated in those countries.
3
If so they’ve been doing it for hundreds and and hundreds of years before the advent of science in societies all Around the world.
3
You need to travel more. There are trans women in every country.
3
Many people have daddy and mommy issues and they aren’t trans. Many trans people don’t have daddy or mommy issues. Has little explanatory power.
3
That makes me very sad for the gay and trans people in your country, living desperate closeted lives hiding in the shadows.
3
@NCXitlali Your ID should say jackass. She’s legally female and there is nothing you can do about that.
3
Equality requires special legislation for LGBT people because they are already in an unequal position. If two gay people love each other and want to legally marry they can’t do that without specific legislation for them to make that happen.
3
@greengnome2008 Makes sense! Many thanks! Have you visited Thailand before? The biggest thing for me that wasn’t in this video is that trans women can’t legally marry their husbands and can’t legally change their gender. Such rights are commonplace now in many progressive countries but Thailand has a long way to go on LGBT law.
3
There are pros and cons to being the squeaky wheel. The west has a vast number of LGBT legal rights and protections including marriage equality and the right of trans people to change their legal gender on their ID. The non confrontational nature of Thailand means there are none of these things there. My wife and I (a Thai trans woman) have been waiting over a decade to be able to legally marry in Thailand.
3
Unlikely she’s had vocal cord surgery. I’m sure she would have mentioned it. Recovery is tough. Just voice training / falsetto control and female affectation are very effective. To a small degree bieng on birth control during puberty and the androgen blockers and later hormones and finally SRS may have lowered her testosterone enough that vocal cord lengthening didn’t fully occur, preserving more of a female vocal range. Look up Belle Nuntita for an example of a Thai trans woman who can do amazing things with her vocal range.
3
Transphobia is pretty disgusting, I agree.
3
Then you thought wrong. Most trans women in Thailand are not employed in sex work at all. You can see them working retail and salon jobs all across Thailand. They’re trans because they want to be seen and treated as females, not as a costume to make money.
3
@somebodyontheinternet7743 I don’t need your validation, defending LGBT people is it’s own reward.
3
Gender isn’t biology.
3
Way more than gender roles in some species. Look up the Clown Fish.
3
@ediblelipscrubs9466 Clown fish literally change biological sex. You’re also making unfounded accusations. Rest assured, I always respect the gender identity of everyone. Others define their gender for me, I do not define gender for others.
3
@johnnielson4341 You are just not reading carefully. I can't provide a timeline of the history of LGBT law in a youtube comment. Previously you didn't even understand that legal gender change was even possible. You even said that I made it up. That's what I was responding to with the current forms. Lol. AB1121 just made the process of gender change easier, and there have been many iterations after that. Legal sex change has been possible in California for a very long time. Look up Barbara Ann Richards. She changed her California legal ID at court in 1941. New Jersey was the first state that determined that post-operative trans people may marry in their post-operative sex in 1976. (MT v. JT, Superior Court of New Jersey). Honestly, this just isn't your area.
3
@johnnielson4341 Ah, yes. I should have said a K-1 gets your future spouse (fiancee ) into the US. I fully admit this single error in this regard.
3
@johnnielson4341 You're just not reading carefully enough and trying desperately to disprove my life and marriage like Inspector Clouseau which I have now successfully debunked, at length. I'm not responsible for youTube's comment filtering system. It's made for quick comments, not long form discussion. My 90%+ cohort of LGBT friends and stunningly distorted view is a view of life that you are complete tourist in regards to, which is the exact topic up for discussion here. Keep on straightsplaining, dear. You're doing great, hun.
3
@johnnielson4341 You're a tourist to LGBT life, my friend. That's my point. Gender change in California was legal long before 2012. You just pulled the date on related legislation (AB1121) that makes things easier and pretended that's when it all started. It didn't. No miscues at all. We can relitigate anything you want. I fully admit I have a distorted view of life, proud of it, but that distortion of being in LGBT spaces all the time and talking to Thai LGBT people all the time makes me understand that distortion better than you actually ever will. If you want to understand it better, divorce your wife and be LGBT. I doubt you're that interested, so QED. The ladyboys of Thailand are a population several hundred thousand deep. To pretend that you speak for all them is absurd. I don't and you don't. Some very much do want to legally be women. We can see that in those that move abroad (like my wife and others) that then go and change their legal gender. Others are happy in a 3rd gender space in between, as has existed across South Asia since antiquity. Others see themselves as effeminate gay men. Some even like cis women or other trans women primarily. For some trans people they go from one to the other over their lifetimes. It's a big spectrum.
3
Why should I respect beliefs that go against human rights? LGBT people deserve full equality under the law, including employment discrimination protection and marriage equality.
3
Thai people honestly eat very little soy. You’ve been to Thailand and watched Thai people eat?
3
The truth is that gender isn’t biology.
3
@Bradley_Lute The trouble with being LGBT in Thailand is that you can’t legally marry your spouse and you can’t legally change your gender. I’ve been waiting over a decade to marry my Thai wife (she’s trans). Justice delayed is Justice denied.
3
On the contrary, the legal acceptance of trans women in the west is vastly higher than Thailand where it is zero. Trans women can’t even legally marry their husbands. Biology doesn’t define the realness of a woman. It’s gender. India and Pakistan actually legally define trans women as a 3rd gender. Again, it’s not biology that we’re talking about. My wife is a Thai trans women. Ask me anything.
3
Trans women are women to me.
3
So you want trans men like Buck Angel in the women's restroom? You clearly haven't really thought this through.
3
There have been ladyboys in South Asia since before Jesus was born. Don’t worry about it. There are almost no Christians in Thailand. When the Sun goes nova in a few billion years it’ll wipe all the life off this planet.
3
Ladyboys are natural. They’ve been a documented historical part of societies and cultures all around the world for hundreds of years. A small percentage of people are LGBT. Nothing unnatural about what occurs in nature.
3
Bingo. Why so few people realize this is beyond me.
3
@suckapunch565 Maybe, if you're willing to wait 10 years for lab-grown tissue to be commonly adopted and able and willing to pay Beverley Hills boutique clinic prices, maybe. A handful of cis women getting experimental vag implant surgery is hardly mass adoption and that takes a lot of time and the wheels of the medical establishment turn slowly. I know one thing, Thailand is certainly not going to be on the vanguard of that. Surgical techniques are one thing, high tech biotech stuff like that is quite another. If you've been to Thailand you'll know what I mean.
3
The boys were Ladyboy adults who supplied themselves. There have been trans women all over South Asia since antiquity. Nothing new.
3
So mockery and violence isn't always the answer? I dunno. That's pretty hard to imagine. /s
3
As if someone willing to commit sexual assault is going to be deterred by a sign on the door.
3
There are plenty of cisgender women that are bigger and stronger than trans women. Most people can’t successfully defend themselves against an attacker with a weapon and the element of surprise. That’s life. It is the law in most of North America and Europe that trans women are legally allowed to use the women’s bathroom. Millions of trans women use the women’s restroom everyday without incident. There is not an epidemic of trans women attacking women in restrooms nor cisgender men pretending to be men attacking women in restrooms. Do you not know this?
3
@franzesnicolesayson4921 It's high time the Philippines did right by it's LGBT citizens, as has been done in the west. There are disrespectful and rude people of every gender. Disrespectful people also need to use the bathroom. There already laws that cover any illegal activity that may happen in a restroom, no matter who commits the crime.
3
The vast majority of a Thai trans women are not sex workers.
3
She’s already free.
3
Cross dressing and gender identity aren’t the same thing. Jackie Gleason and Kim Petras couldn’t be more different despite both having worn female clothes.
3
Your vocal chords lengthen and consequently lower their pitch with exposure to testosterone. That's just how it works in adolescence for cis boys and later in life for trans men.
