Trans women are women to me. You’re welcome to think anything you like.
10
@Beautifulworld-pq4cz I'm bisexual. Perhaps you've heard of it? It's only been a thing for a few million years.
10
Only if that’s what you’re into. Most trans girls aren’t interested in being a top anyway.
10
@yerri5567 You clearly don't understand the legal language in Bill C-16, your majesty. I already spelled out what C-16 does. At any rate, there is zero chance of you convincing me of anything and there is zero chance of me convincing you of anything. What's the point of typing at each other at this point?
10
@littlekiwi8964 Here is to hoping that the trans women of India are treated with more dignity and respect. I know there is a very long way to go to get to Thai levels of gender identity equality. Know hope.
10
@pleng6678 Not chill enough to allow trans women to legally marry their husbands or legally change their gender. My wife is a Thai trans woman and while we’re legally married and she’s legally female in California we can’t get legally married nor can she legally change her gender in Thailand.

@S_u_n_Flower_ The World Health Organization, the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association, say being transgender is not a mental disorder. It's an dysphoria between mind and body. You do realize that all these professional health organizations fully support transgender people medically transitioning as standard treatment, right?
9
Sickenly awesome, that is.
9
They are real women to me. Gender isn’t biology by definition.
9
I'm calling him Sir right now because I'm sure in a few years I'll be working for him!
9
If you feel itchy, disgust and dirty watching these completely loving and wholesome guys that have taken care of each other and love each other for 17 years then the problem is clearly with you. You should see a doctor about your homophobia.
9
Exactly. You can't go outside of any casino in Vegas without someone handing you a card with nearly naked woman on it with a number for escort services. The San Fernando valley in California is the porn capital of the world. Somehow then the US isn't then thought of as a giant brothel whereas Thailand is. I don't get it. There is sex work everywhere in the world. Hell, the US made the very internet upon which serves up billions of dollars of sex industry content every year. What gives?
9
The transphobia in many other countries is severe. They can hardly imagine a trans woman just living their life in public. It’s quite sad.
9
Ah, yes. Because Jessica Yaniv exists all trans women around the world should now suffer. When a cisgender criminal does something illegal do you blame all cisgender people for their actions too? You are aware that in most places in North America and Europe it is completely legal for trans women to use the women’s bathroom, yes? That’s public accommodation law. If someone (of any gender) is doing something illegal in a restroom there are already laws that cover that. Millions of trans women use the women’s restroom everyday without incident. There is not an epidemic of sexual assault happening in restrooms by trans women or men pretending to be trans women.
9
@다이아나다이아나 That's what they all have said in every country before LGBT equality laws are passed. It's very much a priority for LGBT people. This too will come to pass.
9
Every modern English dictionary has the word cisgender in it. Webster, OED, et al. I’m going to use words found in the dictionary whether you like it or not. Thanks for playing.
9
All words were made up at some point, pal. Again, if it’s in all the dictionary I’m going to use it. Simple as that. Your reality isn’t mine. We all have free will. Think whatever you like and I’ll do the same.
9
@frutillasparatres Thanks. Everyone can see the world the way they wish. I'm just calling it how I see it from a perspective few people have. Cheers.
9
@domlee5902 Lee Jonah's self hating homophobia is harmful and dangerous. Look up all the ex-gay ministries that have fallen apart. Exodus International. Love in Action. Love Won Out. Read the "Former Ex-Gay Leaders Unite in Opposition to Conversion Therapy" open letter. Changing someone's sexual orientation does not work. Thankfully it's illegal now in a growing list of jurisdictions, sadly Korea isn't yet among them.
9
I’ve been plenty of places, including many of the 28 countries around the world that have legalized same sex marriage. If it’s such a waste of time why are you here talking to me about this waste of time topic?Prove to me how valuable your time is by not responding.
9
@drowsretsam6861 You're not the enforcer of God's will.
9
@KitchenWitchery It really isn't. Anyone who knows anything about LGBT Thailand would know at least two of these trans girls by name from the thumbnail. They're quite well known.
9
@tabithamartin4092 Thanks for posting that. More people need to understand this.
8
In the west, yes. It doesn’t have the same negative subtext in Thailand.
8
@joynataliasidabutar4565 You have every right to believe in supernatural fairy tales.
8
@grassguy1154 No contradiction here, pal. I don’t care who you demean. Demean your heart out. Hate gay people all you like. That’s what a pluralistic democracy looks like. The point is that religion is legal and same sex marriage should be legal. This isn’t hard. You’re not going to convince me that fairy tales are true so I’m not going to believe in some supernatural religion. Everyone is free to find their own path without oppressive government intervention regarding the consenting adult that you love.
8
@RolandRhoads My wife and I are married in the US (but can't in Thailand). We live in San Francisco, now. I quite like New Mexico. If you haven't visited Thailand before, you really check it out someday. It's really a lovely place and it'll be even better once they get some LGBT laws on the books.
8
My wife is a Thai trans woman. The maintenance required is fairly minimal. She gets a shot of estrogen every 2-3 weeks. Normal sex takes care of any dilation needs. Honestly doing makeup everyday is 10x more effort. If you have any other questions just ask.
8
I’d you look up ex-gay ministries you’ll discover that the ex-gay men running them invariably break down and become ex-ex-gay. Look up Exodus International. Trying to change your sexual orientation by force of will has an incredibly poor track record.
8
A dozen other countries have a lower fertility rate. Having less people in the world is not a bad thing given a world of finate resources and rising pollution. The rate of HIV in Thailand is 1.1% and there are 39 other countries ahead of it in the world. It’s double the rate of the USA at 0.6%. When on standard ARV treatment for HIV, life expectancy is in the normal range. It’s not a death sentence in the least. What is it exactly that you’re trying to get at in such an indirect manner?
8
@ksuki7282 Until you want to get married to a trans girl. Then, not so much.
8
Citation needed. Just because a couple voles don’t have a Y chromosome doesn’t mean it’s disappearing in thousands of mammal species.
8
Yeah. Asian boss needs to learn the word cisgender.
8
Plenty of Ladyboys are from two parent households.
8
On May 17, 2004, Massachusetts became the first U.S. state and the sixth jurisdiction in the world to legalize same-sex marriage. It was a decades long civil rights fight to make that happen costing millions of man hours and many millions of dollars. At that time anyone in the US could have driven to MA to get married.
8
Face mask girl gave me hope, tho.
8
Looks like your comment didn’t post. Maybe it was held for moderation for containing a link? Dunno. I can only read the first line.
8
If ladyboys thought it was wrong they wouldn’t be ladyboys. This completely misunderstands what gender dysphoria is and how it’s treated by all professional medical organizations.
8
My wife and I can’t have kids which is perfect because we don’t want kids. It takes a uterus and fertilized eggs to have children, both of which she doesn’t have. That said, there is a fair amount of progress on the science front with uterus transplants and in-vitro gametogenesis. Give it 20 years. Adoption is fairly common for folks that want children in same sex or trans relationships. There are plenty of existing children awaiting good homes, after all.
8
What exactly is pedophilic about finding an adult human sexy? Explain.
8
A small percentage, just like anywhere.
8
If you travel to places where trans people aren’t brutally suppressed by the society in that place you’ll surely see some. A big part of the answer of “Why are there so many trans women in Thailand” is that Thailand has a live and let live social tolerance for trans people and so consequently trans women do transition instead of living miserable lives in the closet due to well justified fears, as trans women do in many places.
8
@subzeroprincess Trans women are women and need to be legally permitted to use the women's restroom as is the law in most of North America and Europe. Trans women are not the ones perpetrating spycam porn. Any man can put up a "restroom closed" sign on the door, put up an orange cone and install a spycam somewhere in there. Transwomen are not doing this.
8
There is nothing sacred about language. It’s just vibrations from your vocal cords. Pretending that it just wasn’t made up as it went along over the ages and evolved as times changed defies linguistic understanding. It’s not like anyone is doing a karyotype analysis on someone before they dare drop a pronoun. It’s all just visual inspection. As many undetectable trans women exist it’s all just what someone wants to be called in polite company. Simple as.
8
It’s 2021. If you’re not aware of the possibility that any person you meet could be trans, you’re mistaken. If you don’t want to date trans girls, that’s fine, just put it in your profile. Problem solved.
8
@jlra5734 A man without god is a like a fish without a bicycle.
8
@mystyk5896 Exactly this! Unfortunately it’s very difficult to reverse such a trend once it’s started. It’s going to be a long process to change enough hearts and minds to reverse these attitudes and build the political will to change these laws. Thailand is getting close but there are so many problems with their democracy working at all at the moment, it’s not high on the priority list. Know hope!
7
@mystyk5896 Education is really key to understanding both the pros and cons of the way things used to be prior to colonialism. I’m with you. The transformative power of a better educated population can’t be underestimated. To see so many cultures adopting this frozen in time version of Victorian ethics is so frustrating when the west has realized long ago the toxicity inside it. It’s true that Thailand avoided some of the worst of it, but was certainly not immune in its precarious position as buffer state between Britain and France. Buddhism and the animistic practices of Thailand also contributed a great deal to a culture of LGBT tolerance, too. The Philippines, Catholicism aside, also managed better than most at protecting LGBT people and creating a social space for them to exist. All the languages and islands probably helped in slow rolling the force of colonialism as well. Unfortunately the historical record of marginalized communities is never very good. “Gender Pluralism in South East Asia since early modern times” does a pretty good job if you’re looking for an academic book length treatment.
7
@mystyk5896 My wife is a Thai trans woman so this topic hits pretty close to home. On one hand, conditions have improved greatly for LGBT people in the aggregate but at the same time it’s hard to deny how far many places still have to go.
7
Literal transphobia.
