@Jupiter-td4kw Of course the administration of all countries can be improved. It would be better if the U S A had decent health care and more control over gun ownership. Russia needs laws against corruption , a free press , a Constitution which provides for elections which are fair , an independent judiciary etc
1
@Jupiter-td4kw The prosperity in Russia did not spread throughout the country and the necessity for reform is clearly evident. I do hope the sanctions imposed by the civilised world might trigger the end of Putin's regime and a new stage in the development of Russia as a truly Democratic country.
1
Wade Russia is clearly a declining power partly because it is obscenely corrupt.
1
communism sucks Putin does not liberate he kills .If you doubt my words just take a look at Syria though there are other examples. Russia please rid your country of the evil Putin.
1
@05tsamra Is that so ? My recollection is that a coalition of countries was established after Iraq invaded its neighbour Kuwait..Please take note it was not the U S alone but a number of countries.
1
@offred6013 Despite many searches there was no trace of WMD"s .
1
@offred6013 What makes you think my government is capable of giving me inaccurate facts ?.
1
entity namely the U S S R.
1
@stephen kaaya Putin is not helping Russia at all but recreating an extinct
1
@TestTest-ve4ih Thank you for a truthful posting .
1
@sureshpolali4616 Sorry you did not make your point clear.
1
@offred6013 U S A is not the looser but Trump.abandoned Afghan women and girls.
1
@WPS691 Why should the U S A want to invade Russia ? The West has long been afraid of Russia and given the dreadful record of Soviet forces with good reason.
1
@dragonborn3283 Putin invasion logical but a failure of logistics has caused him to lose respect and credibility Let us see a change of administration in Russia and less talk of War.
1
@05tsamra I think not Try again
1
@kc-st Just sheer greed was Saddam"s motivation.
1
Take a look at the factual accounts of Iraq's invasion of Kuwait and the subsequent Gulf War 1 before you post again
1
@davekerryvane3015 the second invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with oil . Mr Bush thought the attack on the World Trade Centre was organised from Iraq and was motivated by revenge.
1
WittyWhittle 36 you are right President Bush should not have launched a second invasion of Iraq but it happened and you can't change history . I believe whatever moral and political high ground Russia had has been devastated by its behaviour in Syria and now Ukraine . It is pointless to gnash our teeth and whine about what might have been we just have to defeat Putin and make a decent job of rebuilding Ukraine and Russia .
1
@steadychaosproductions3376 I believe the Russian supporters fail to understand how people feel about the U SS R .The U S model has many flaws but the Soviet model is far worse particularly with a person like Putin in charge .
1
Witty you need to distinguish the first Gulf War from the second.
1
Wu Lung I have great respect for the intelligence of both Russian and Chinese strategists .What troubles me is that the people in Russia , China and the West have no quarrel but they are being brain washed into believing they are in reality enemies. Would it not be of benefit if every Nation and every person devoted resources to dealing with our common enemy namely climate change rather than death and destruction. How does it benefit Russia to murder the citizens of Ukraine and destroy their homes and Art Galleries, Theatres etc ? I do not accept that Putins ridiculous explanations are true because he has no respect for the West and believes we are all weak and corrupt .He is wrong I will fight if I need too .
1
@parnamsaini4751 It could be any day now as the lunatics are in charge of the asylum .
1
@parnamsaini4751 End of the World Next so Good bye to you.
1
@parnamsaini4751 He is being stupid as it is perfectly clear the U S knows what goes on it both Russia and China.
1
@wulung5943 It is in a world wide context .Please don't think in such a parochial way .
1
@wulung5943 I prefer to operate in a low key manner .Violence may not be required but if it is surprise is a great advantage .
1
@justthefacts5008 If you believe that you must also believe in Father Christmas. I think you need to be more intelligent and look at evidence in a mature manner .My father once advised me don't believe anything you read, don't believe anything you are told and only believe half of what you see. Good advice.
1
U S strategists are not blind but discreet . I can carry a big stick or a gun but do not boast about it just use it when necessary .
1
@valcarlin2537 Not as much as I should but what I do know is that Ukraine posed no physical threat to Russia .
1
@DaExpoSing1 Why are you so anti US government ? You do not understand how the Ukrainians people feel about their very dangerous neighbour . Basically Eastern Europe does not want to be controlled by the government in Moscow and turns to NATO in preference .Putin has in fact been a recruiting sergeant for the alliance in recent weeks and he is doing a surprisingly good job with Sweden and Finland ready to sign up.
1
@JoeMammaBff Trump is a very silly man but he is happy relieving his supporters of large sums of money to be used for ?
1
@0bserver416 I think Putin is mad enough to contemplate a nuclear war .
1
Margaret wouldn't it be a good idea if Putin asked why are all these countries applying to jo8n NATO.He might be surprised to discover that the only reason for joining NATO is fear of Russia and his bellicose policies.
1
Deb Lewis the U S A is governed by human beings and it would be remarkable if mistakes had not been made in foreign and domestic policy.
1
Margaret Russia is suffering many dents and it will fall apart once its people understand the cause of the many problems.
1
Mayank who are you to dictate to the Ukrainians .The people have made it clear they do not want to be part of the U S S R again and they are entitled to freedom and self determination. The least the USA can do is support their efforts with weapons and intelligence .
1
Chief Executive you talk nonsense .China ought to concentrate on trade because politics is trivial compared to profits . Putin did not learn this lesson and he is destroying his country for the sake of personal ambition.
1
@littleant1535 I agree 100% that the death and destruction in the Ukraine is very sad. Putin expected the Russian army to win a swift victory but the war is likely to last for years unless something dramatic happens .
1
@zenwisdom4259 Ukraine applied for membership of NATO many years ago Nil progress has been made and I expect Nil progress will be made in future.
1
@zenwisdom4259 Ukraine applied to join N ATO many years ago and negotiations have not been progressed as we understand.
1
The Cuban Missile crisis was caused by Russia's plot to install missiles in Cuba ; it was done covertly .By the time the Russian leader decided to agree not to install the missiles he had to turn round the ship (s) carrying the missiles .Ukraine did not even get beyond first base as there was no agreement to admit the country to NATO and there were no missiles. It is attractive for the opponents of the U S A to pretend the 2 situations are comparable but they are clearly not. Putin has been working hard to create trouble in Ukraine pretending he was defending the Russian speakers in so called breakaway provinces but since when has a neighbour had the right to launch an invasion to sort out another countries internal problems . I can only conclude that Putin is determined to asserts dominance over Ukraine and other ex members of the U S S R .
1
@anthonypape6862 I think Nuclear conflict is inevitable but also unacceptable . NATO has made mistakes but it is preferable to Putin. We are doomed .
1
@anthonypape6862 I think Putin and his allies are a danger to the world and NATO is the only defence small nations have against a cruel and dangerous enemy.
1
@anthonypape6862 Disagree strongly that NATO should be disbanded.
1
@anthonypape6862 I do not know if NATO has had any discussions with either Georgia or Ukraine about weapon systems .I think NATO was always aware that Russia would be very annoyed if Ukraine in particular was a member. You may know that Ukraine applied to join years ago and to my knowledge little has been achieved.
1
I think Putins ambitions went far further than you think.
1
@taitslong3417 Parallels do not often fit perfectly but you are right to point out that the US is not known for land grabs .
1
@zenwisdom4259 I understand and suggest you switch off .
1
Zen that is a simplistic view when there is no trust .
