Inflation is the perfect way to default on your debts. Falling value of money drops the value of your debts in direct proportion. Debt-laden companies like Ford and GM love the idea, though who will buy their cruddy products is anyone's guess.

  13. Electric cars go about 4x as far on a gallons worth of energy than gasoline cars. Electric cars charge at night when the grid has spare capacity. Electric cars last much longer than engine cars so fewer need to be built. Electric cars need less maintenance and are more reliable. It’s the last two that Ford GM etc hate so much. They can’t keep on selling the same old crap that’s built to wear out in a few years.
