I now make tortillas and $150 will buy an entire year of good, but somewhat bland, food. yt has good videos on how to do this. Having a garden is nice, but it's nothing like being able to buy 4,000 calories for a dollar. Not sure how long this will be an option.

  26.  @JB-yd9nd  I have been screaming this for years. Before the bad Europeans came, the continent was covered with buffalo. From what I could find, there were 70million of them vs the 90 million cows of today (and India has far more than much of the rest of the world combined). Buffalo are about 50% bigger than cows, so if you add up the biomass methane production capacity, we have less now than 500 years ago.

Something like 97% of all farms are small family farms that sell into large co-ops, though this is changing as farmers retire and their land is bought up by said co-ops. I'm guessing that when it gets bad enough, the co-ops will stop buying from those family farms or pay so little to effectively shut them down.

  50. They need a war to bring in their industrial revolution. I think the pandemic turned out to be a dud. Imagine a nuclear war on top of a disease that was killing 15% of people in their 20's. That would be 50million young people in the US alone. It would be a complete reset on a civilization scale which is their goal.
