Well, there is a bit of a difference, if a rich country/Germany has a "little dent of -0,3 %" = still 99,7% of its national economy are fine, or if a country, which isn't even back with its economy to "pre pandemic level", had a raise of some %, and has a yearly loss of £100 billion due to Brexit....😊
Btw, please look up for Wolfspeed, a US company which will build a gigafactory for semi conductors at the Federal State of Saarland.
Infenion near Dresden
Bosch near Dresden
TSMC (Taiwanese company which will build a gigafactory for micro chips) at Silicon Saxony near Dresden
Intel near Magdeburg
Northvolt near Hamburg
Ford near Cologne
VW is building 3 gigafactories for EVs batteries, one at Lower Saxony/Germany, one in Sweden in cooperation with Northvolt, and one in Spain or Portugal.
Etc, etc...
Greetings from the EU27 😊

@francisjbrennan3358 And?
This year has been a raise by about 300% more refugees coming into the EU, when about 120 boats are arriving on one day, like recently at Lampedusa, it always takes a while, until it's "sorted".
You rather make sure, that your country and its infrastructure doesn't "crumble" completely, like those raac buildings, potholes in the roads, disappearing NHS into a private health system US style, food banks for hospital staff at hospitals, etc...
Greetings from the EU27 😊
