Why are there so many comments about Trump. The states control these matters and the problems are systemic in many US states and it doesn't seem to matter if they are controlled by Democrats or Republicans.
1
Why is everyone jumping to conclusions. All we know is the driver has an Arabic name . Maybe it was intentional maybe it wasn't. Maybe if it was intentional it's some personal issue. It reminds me of the spitting incident against an Asian in Western Sydney also shown on NowThis which clearly showed a black person and a person of light skin of unknown race and many comments then said how racist white Australian are. Since this is a video channel just watch and only make comments on what you can see or is proven.
1
Not good then you are the same.
1
He was speaking from a global perspective to an extent and yes it happens relatively speaking all the time, it's not a prediction of what happened and the exact virus or bacterial type of outbreak.
1
Interesting comment. I would say where ever there are more than 100 humans there is racism.
1
I would say it is but nothing gains attention like protesting a government and bringing along high powered guns in that other protest. Those protestors are internationally infamous.
1
No they wouldn't. Martial law military control. The military may not have a use for the police.
1
@pingo.with.a.camera9897 it showed enough to demonstrate that the police and Arbery both did nothing wrong. What is of greater concern is either the laws regarding the use of body cam footage are insufficient or that this is stolen property. Normally and I would suggest it will be the case that such videos have very strict criteria about how they can be used for privacy issues etc. The motive of whoever released it might be to cause delays in the justice system or outright subvert the course of justice with the use of a stolen video which is the serious issue here. The guardian was unwise to release it in my opinion although they do have certain protections regarding not saying who gave it to them. The guardian is a left wing media organization so what was there motive in releasing it? We don't know the answers to many things and have to wait and see.
1
Very much so. He is speaking as you might if you were crying uncontrollably and not breathing properly.
1
Peter I don't think he is a danger to the world. He could become dangerous to the world at some point but at the moment he is facing inwards and too involved in US to bother the rest of the world. Geopolitically it's a bit of a problem though because there is nothing to counteract things China is doing.
1
That's not fair and pretty recent. Look at when there were Republican presidents in the past it wasn't like this.
1
So the current police investigating the former police are corrupt are they? There is more footage available as the person making the announcement of the arrest said.
1
I know it's amazing. Can't find N95 masks for months but the amount of pepper spray and rubber bullets and tear gas and flash grenades they don't seem in short supply. If only the virus could be stopped with a rubber bullet.
1
Let's say you own a shop which has 2 different races of people as your customer. One steals at 5 times the rate of the other. Are you going to not racially profile and lose money or are you going to racially profile when carrying out surveillance on possible thieves? Answer that question then you have your answer. It's costly to many to not be racist.
1
Flame you are right but certain reopening will increase infections it's basically a certainty and Cherubim you are wrong. It normally takes a few weeks to die from it assuming medical attention is available, so the ones dying now have nothing to do with reopen. The infection rate is likely to climb but will depend on business type. The 25% capacity of restaurants will help but it's still risky especially indoors . Crowded bars or large functions held indoors are the biggest risk and hopefully that's not happening yet. One person coming from overseas back to Australia infected 35 people at a wedding party over a 4 hour period I think it was .
1
It did. If you watch the governor's address he took responsibility and he was called by CNN. So it happened at the highest level. It wasn't made clear who made the decision to arrest them in the first place though. Maybe it was lack of clear instructions.
1
@hillbelly2132 blacks in the US not need to fear the white man in a relative sense, black on black killing could be described as out of control. Check the statistics if you want.
1
ROGUEGUNNER69 are you sure? The homicide rate of offenders for blacks is about 6 times that of whites. The rate of lethal encounters with police for blacks is apparently 7 times that of whites. The second number I am not sure where it's from but a reliable TV show said it. The first number is FBI statistics on their webpage. Without stopping the root cause the outcome can't change.
1
@futurist1399 that's for his own safety and to prevent anything happening. The charge is less than littering.
1
No, most likely is come on buddy I can't let you do this for you own safety. Calm down , let's go.
1
So should he have punched her in the guts to avoid that? She appeared to be attacking him in the first place.
1
It's only 70 years that it's not really accepted to invade your neighbour. Before that taking of territory by force was acceptable.
1
Military is martial law not the police. The military might not want the police involved.
1
Just a comment on your last line. "Western Civilization Supremacy has to end" . Is that comment a joke or something. What you are advocating is the downfall of Western English speaking democracies. Rule of law, freedom of speech, democracy for all. Maybe one day the most successful countries in the world will not be but let's hope that's a long time in the future. Which model of government would you prefer and which system of government would you prefer? Just curious to know.
1
@grmpEqweer I have read through your comments and in general I agree but that's got nothing to do with the system of government. China is currently doing the same thing, Australia has done similar things in the past as has Indonesia. It's really big countries treating smaller countries and or segments of their population badly. In Western democracies now I would say that the treatment internally is all good. This is not to say perfect because you can't control individual behaviour. I do believe however due to pressure within Western democracies we do treat other countries better than in the past, so improving but far from perfect. The US is still too interventionist in my opinion . It may be well meaning such as with Venezuela but the intervention tends to fail and secure the dictatorship because once the local population is aware of foreign interference they will support a dictator more.
1
Then it can never end if you can't forgive his supporters who were the majority of the population, to not vote is also support.
1
Totally disagree with you. There is no evidence that requiring people to wear masks in a low infection area does anything. In Australia most states are cautiously going back to school starting with senior years and preschool and year 1. There hasn't been any discussion here and there is no need for this while infection rates are low. In the video it suggests infection rate of 1 person per 50,000 give or take. South Korea I know is taking a different path regarding masks in schools but that's up to them.
1
@SK-yu3dd I understand what you are saying very well. The successful country know they are always one month from disaster. Contact tracing , testing and isolation of possible cases has worked in many countries. In my opinion whatever country you may be from its in the hands of government plus people following directions when required and a bit of heavy handedness to make it happen. Without even knowing details about this area other than the broader political situation , I would rate their chances above many Western countries. I think people are likely to be serious about following directions including mask if it is decided that is required.
1
Yes it's the wrong climate to grow bananas, maybe a corn republic.
1
I like how he says "it's been going on since before I was elected" Is he implying that it's still going on and all the US problems are either Obama or China? I do think this is sort of news to Obama .
1
One way to look at is, at the moment the US is too busy internally to attempt to put their person or party in power in other countries.
1
Could people please stop comparing US to Australia as if they are equivalent. Whatever statistic you look at on this subject Australia is better other than one issue and that is the number of indigenous Australian incarcerated is at a similar rate to the US for black people. Check any other rate you please and Australia is better. Also to do with this conversation the indigenous Australian are not on a average as violent as American Black culture. The racial problems in 2 cities and possibly 3 in Australia are significant but elsewhere in other cities and in regional areas even if things are not perfect this is not a major problem.
1
Maybe because it was known who the offender was. In this incident we only know the name Sabry Nassar with Arabic surname. Maybe he is Christian who knows. Maybe he joined a white supremacist group. We could make up anything with ignorance just as people are doing.
1
Unfortunately it is likely you need to prove the policeman knew what he was doing. In other words that he understood this would kill the person. I think that would be a tough ask. Manslaughter or whatever it's name is in the jurisdiction is more likely.
1
That is the standard position worldwide I think. But that position changes I guess in response to a large number of infected people. Nothing beats the initial detection and contact tracing being done successfully by a very large factor.
1
How about voting, this might be worth a try.
1
Wait for the trial or guilty plea and we will find out.
1
You'll get shot by armed 7-11 guard I guess. Businesses will be arming themselves.
1
It's interesting that when a black policeman kills an unarmed white lady it takes 8 months for an arrest but when a white policeman kills an unarmed black person in exactly the same jurisdiction and the arrest takes 4 days everyone is complaining how slow it was. Seems a bit inconsistent to me.
1
Can't say for certain yet but driver's name is Sabry Nassar . So Arabic which neither makes it or excludes it from being a terror type act. To me actually the intent is not all that important. Person drove dangerously causing injury and should be punished accordingly.
1
I am a foreigner and I agree with you. The polls by reputable outfits like Gallup I think can be considered as unbiased. All polls have error so it could be even worse no way to know.
1
You should consider a wall, maybe US citizens won't be able to escape to Mexico soon , so guess where they would go if things get a bit tougher .
1
Well please don't assume it's a "hate crime" . The offenders name is Sabry Nassar and surname is Arabic. We will find out eventually if it was or not.
1
Christopher Sim where do you live?
1
David the US is much more socialist than you may realise. Government spending on healthcare during normal times in the US is actually greater than quite a few countries with universal health care. Socialism just means in simple terms government control by direct and indirect means of the means of production. So in the US as a whole giving healthcare as an example I observed a few years ago noting government healthcare spending as a proportion of gdp was greater in the US than Australia. Right now with these abnormal times your government healthcare spending will blow out big time because of all the covid 19 testing alone. Problem with the US is how functional things are. $10,000,000 in February contacting and tracing you could have achieved the same results as Western Pacific countries but now the infections are so high your country is like a dog trying to catch it's tail and on the health issues costs just keep ballooning. So not about socialism but effective government that tries to care for the vulnerable.
1
You are correct in a sense. Australia and even China looks to you about this disease and possible complications because of your high infection rates. Currently Australia has 2 organizations working on potential vaccines and to test them if they reach that stage we look to you and Europe.
1
I am not sure it will happen. I do like that you have recognized that others. I am white Australian. One thing I have not seen is any black person in the US call out black racists. For true healing this needs to occur. I respond to you because I am guessing you understand this based on your comment. I have seen this occur in Australia but rare. All people regardless of race need to be held equally accountable if they are public figures. I hope your country gets better but it'll be slow and it's impossible to fix everything and no country is perfect.
1
Yep bars and nightclubs open in some states and they can pass any state border at will. I am Australian and it looks like a joke.
1
The video I saw only had the victim go to the front entrance and that is not trespassing. It is quite lawful to go to the entrance of any house and knock on the door.
1
It's true regardless of the issue and or ideology.
