So effectively she voted for expansion of free healthcare. Now the Republicans are talking massive cuts to free healthcare.
1
Not necessarily because it's a world price unless he tariffs all oil imports which could raise local prices.
1
At the rate things are going there'll soon be a market for people smugglers getting people out of the US.
1
They can't refuse an order based on their own personal ethics, that's ridiculous. If a state declares martial law then any actions by the military up to a point will be lawful. Under martial law a person can be detained without cause. Will a red state go down this path, we will have to wait and see.
1
He's gonna be too busy with his world trade w*r to start any military conflict. Each country he puts blanket tariffs on will put selective tariffs back. Obviously targeted tariffs will cause low harm.to the country putting them on the US and maximum damage. Trump's tariffs on other countries will cause maximum damage to the other countries but also the US.
1
You mustn't pay taxes or collect welfare then because sick people are costly to society.
1
There's going to be a lot of calls against obvious Asian immigrants who will mostly be in the US legally.
1
Well no, the federal government is considering enforcement of immigration, this is not a state issue.
1
@Nessy-of-the-Lynn I am not American however Australia is a federal system also and more clearly defined under our constitution. Abbott and DeSantis certainly are/were doing the wrong thing, they can if they want assist the federal government but they shouldn't be actually enforcing or trying to enforce any federal law. As an observer from afar the Republicans are more hypocritical than Democrats, Democrats are too but just not as much.
1
@Nessy-of-the-Lynn I did respond and hopefully you got that but it's not appearing.
1
They're not in denial, fact is Trump got about 70% support in the election including those who voted for him and those who didn't vote indicating they support him at least as much as the alternative.
1
I disagree with David. For me it's hard to have empathy with someone who wished this upon others. The US immigration system is a mess, Trump is correct about that. However Trump's actions by ignoring the laws in place just make the situation worse. Even Trump's position that removing birth right citizenship is a good one , however instead of arranging a referendum on the issue he just ignores the law. It's quite possible if argued properly ending birth right citizenship might pass a referendum because it caused a lot of deaths pain and suffering because pregnant women will sometimes try to cross the border to get eventual citizenship or alternatively women will try to get pregnant while in the US. It's a pull factor that causes problems.
1
@chrisriviello6011 I am Australian, we have a secure border and enforce immigration regulations. The US hasn't done so for about 40 years. As I stated Trump is correct it's a mess but only intends to increase the mess by ignoring the laws already on the books instead of changing the laws and working with other countries. How does creating a mess without solving the systemic problems going to achieve anything? Trump hasn't even suggested toughening up visa rules noting many illegal immigrants enter legally.
1
Trump is not a free market guy, he's an open socialist who believes in protectionism. He has never been secretive about it. Reagan was a free market guy.
1
Hello scammer
1
@aaaaaadasjfodsfdjfbdshifb that surprises me
1
Pretty sure your badly mistaken or they would have done something by now, at least not confirming some of the executive government picks. Didn't happen did it.
1
The income inequality in the US didn't happen in a vacuum and has been supported by both your major political parties. It's primarily caused by far right socialism. The most obvious examples are subsidies for banks, big pharma and medical services in general and agriculture. The proportion of the economy that is outright socialist isn't small.
1
The amazing thing is that they haven't found any fraud. We know the US has significant fraud like the covid handouts where companies were created to bleed the government.
1
He's uniting the world against the US. It's pretty bad when Australian politicians are in agreement with Kim Jong Un on the issue of Gaza. And now China, Canada, Mexico, EU, Australia and Taiwan all on one side of a trade war against the US.
1
You missed one thing, globalisation regarding technology. Without the help of many countries contributing scientific parts of a modern computer or smart phone it would be very different and less functional. This applies to any highly advanced technological item.
1
It's going to get a lot worse for those big distilleries if Trump carries out his promised trade war against the world. Alcohol brands are 100% discretionary. My guess any Russian Vodka producers aren't doing so well right now.
1
I just realised this clip is 6 years old. Well we got Trump Mark II now and it's only got worse. Now the threat is a full blown trade war , not on only a few products.
1
They're all targeted for trade w*rs , they can't escape. However Australia and New Zealand haven't been targeted yet lol.
1
They're not actually, healthy hens that are free range or genuinely pasture fed are completely different to caged hens eggs.
1
@patdent different brands and or suppliers and or sizes. Even in Australia or Thailand where I am now there's about 10 or 15 different egg types in supermarkets., I agree 30 is a bit excessive especially if there's an egg shortage.
1
He's consistent with Democrats behaviour regarding subsidies for big pharma. The massive subsidies are done by paying exorbitive non market prices for drugs. All they do is complain publicly and privately pay the money with no resistance even when they have control of all 3 branches of government and can do something.

@benschalkwyk4315 I am in a way pointing out not the craziness of Trump because he isn't crazy, erratic and divisive and lacks empathy for others and I can't personally tell whether he cares more about the US or himself. I don't think he believes any of the conspiracy theories and if you notice he always says questions need to be asked. The reason for this is the reliable conspiracy theorist voting block who he thinks gives him the advantage , conspiracy theorists probably have a high turn out in elections. So just a cold hearted calculation. The crazy part is many of his followers who defend everything. In comments from supporters and detractors they seem to be all one sided. I am not American but I would say certain policies like controlling the southern US border is good, guarding the Korea's border at excessive US cost is bad as one example I think Trump is good. It does not follow that I think separating families at the border is right, but sending them back is. The language Trump uses including on the border issue is often inflammatory and this is bad. I am not American and I would probably vote in a different way for the president versus the Senate and Congress if I was , but neither presidential candidate would have my full support.
1
It's no coincidence that parts of Greece and Victoria Australia and California have these devastating fires, it's the intense often referred to as Mediterranean climate as in dry summers with ultralow humidity and high temperatures. What is unusual this time is the fact it's actually winter in California.
1
Free speech in the US is far more limited than other countries like Australia as an example. In the US you will be discriminated against if you don't support Israel. So in the US you are literally not permitted to have a political opinion on another country. So you tell me what the first amendment actually means and you will realise in effect it's as useless as tits on a bull.
1
"The left" is highly subjective. Trump's populist policies were very leftist, price fixing comes to mind with Trump promising lower prices for all on groceries and fuel. There's only 2 ways to achieve that and it's far left policies either way, price controls on goods or subsidies. Fact is Trump lied but my point is being hard left on certain issues didn't hurt Trump. Truth is Trump seems to be a far right socialist, believes in an oligopoly funded by the working class hence his genuine in my opinion policies of business subsidies and higher taxes on the middle and low income people via tariffs and lower taxes on the wealthy.
1
Consider Australia if that doesn't work out. And if you do Consider Australia just remember not everywhere is tolerant but most big city are if not in generally dangerous areas by our standards.
1
Definitely shouldn't give a pardon to someone who doesn't want it. Could ask each individual that might be affected whether they want a pardon or not.
1
Have to agree with you on that one. At Trump's age he can bruise very easily and chances are this is a rare example of the Whitehouse telling the truth. If I was American I would be more worried about Trump's mind.
1
You're probably right. He's fighting the ghosts of Obama, Clinton and Biden. Gotta remember they run the deep state and when his flawed policy of a world trade w*r fails miserably it will be the deep state run by those 3 ghosts to blame.
1
There's a legal question on whether the president can declare martial law which has never been challenged in court. If it's found the president can then everything becomes legal so long as a war crime isn't committed.
1
Which one, there's 2?
1
People surprised employment rate not being affected yet shouldn't be, at the moment things are being rushed into the US as quickly as possible to minimise tariffs as much as possible, this would actually create some employment, but the moment tariffs are in full effect people will start losing jobs , especially anything import or export related.
1
I think when the world trade war starts people are going to remember Elon and sales of Tesla will go down outside the US. Sales might improve in the US due to elimination of competition, however some people won't buy Tesla on principle even if it's slightly better than other US electric vehicle offerings.
1
Assuming you get a visa , I hope you enjoy Australia once you get there.
1
I had to laugh at him being unaware of what ASEAN is. I don't really have any criticism of him not being able to name all the countries though. I am Australian and can no problems but if i was asked to name a group further away like all European Union members i couldn't.
1
Marco knows what he is doing is political suicide but he's choosing to do it anyway to get the title of secretary.
1
Obama controls the Deep State AKA public service.
1
@colinleeson4099 Keeping quiet and being diplomatic is the appropriate course of action. If someone annoys Trump he will attack the country, although it might not hurt Australia that much due to our trade deficit with the US a trade war is the last thing we need. Trump's number one policy against all other countries.
1
There's nothing in your constitution stopping his plans, the issue is can your president declare martial law which hasn't legally been answered. If he can then he just has to declare martial law in states that don't want to cooperate.
1
I would say select stocks carefully, there will be winners but definitely avoid any companies that have significant imports or exports because tariffs and retaliatory tariffs are going to hurt.
1
One number that should be completely ignored is the stock market number. The valuation of stocks doesn't always represent the actual intrinsic value of those stocks. Case in point which has a ridiculous valuation is Tesla, as that is the case there's nothing stopping it becoming a more ridiculous valuation in a years time. Tesla price could also crash down to it's intrinsic valuation in that time also. Therefore the price of the stock has nothing to do with a US president, much in the same way the US can't control the international price of oil, it can as a large producer only have small effects on the market but much less than OPEC which is a union of many large producers and one non exporter of Indonesia being a hangover from different times.
1
The US is going full paranoia at the moment. They want to ban Chinese developed programs in in vehicles. Funny thing is it's not unlikely some of Tesla's programs come from China since they do make some of the Tesla's there. I am happy Australia isn't following or at least not for now. BYD the pre-eminent Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer makes cheaper vehicles that have better batteries and they're available in Australia. If we decided we only want upmarket cars it will hurt people who are low and middle income.
1
My comment as an Aussie might seem strange . I am totally for a controlled border however the US is a crime ridden country with 6 times the average homicide rate of other wealthy countries, local law enforcement shouldn't be involved in non local matters in the case of USA.
1
The problem is Trump is about to effectively ban competition with tariffs against all other countries. Tesla is probably the best electric vehicle made in the US. I am in Australia and if I was going to buy an electric or hybrid car it would be made in Asia somewhere. I wouldn't buy a Tesla even if it was made outside of the US on principle.
