its perfect for the discerning crowbar wielding theoretical physicist
6
ya but also the brits were persistently 40 years behind the time with .303
6
one can imagine the wonder on the GI's face when they found a german pistol that fired a real cartridge.
6
@jamesbridges7750 my favorite is firing the rail cops then complaining to the regular cops about theft as if they expect regular cops to go onto rail property and patrol around all these rather dangerous moving vehicles
6
goes to fire, mag drops instead lfmao
6
its 1940, switzerland is not exactly in a position to be exporting much of anything
6
360 degrees, to shoot the enemy, and cowards alike
6
"You're going to use what?"
6
there's just something absolutely silly about a semiautomatic rifle with 100 rounds on tap. it just goes and goes and goes and goes
6
"Yes Mr. Ross, jolly good show but you see you are canadian and not sufficiently british british so therefore we cannot accept this rifle and ammunition. Good day." -Some British Lord in charge of Ordinance
6
usually also the most spectacular bankruptcies
6
and ironically killed in its day because of a stupid requirement for an exposed barrel
6
cas its got a red dot sight, that makes it more accurate
6
@itatane the wear ian talked about is something you can't reproduce from machining and manufacturing. springs are exceedingly expensive to make in anything but coils or flats, but this just shows that any of these guns won't get worse with age
6
I think he did a larger video on stens a while back but there was the "last ditch" sten, the "not quite last ditch" sten and the "well we're not being bombed every night so we can put some more thought into it" sten
6
@tjroelsma in fallout new vegas the 12.7mm pistol is basically a large version of this, it even has the same barrel nut
6
ya its called spec-ops
6
without knowing it I would think someone painted that gun due to the very dull nickel plating
6
the jump between consumer and commercial 3d printers is huge, even as both are getting better and better in capacity
6
@meckhardt2112 na, 8mm mauser would be too standard, 10mm wauser is more like it.
6
hard mode: its the .30-06 version
6
as far as safeties go it looks actually like one of the better early smg safeties
6
he's done some videos but vintage ammo is even harder to find than weapons
6
its the smg before anyone knew they wanted an smg
6
Paul K french arsenal made so non-commercial to begin with
5
the swiss tried to make a gun cheaper? gasp
5
B they're still used for swat or urban assault situations where overpenetration and size are cons, and theyve been used by special protection services like the secret service because you can easily conceal them and they can lay down a lot of suppressive fire which is good in their case
5
I wasn't so interested in the other books but this one looks amazing
5
in more ways than one, today everybody wants the AR to do everything and everything to look like an AR, colt was just 40 years ahead of the curve
5
talking to a camera while talking with a guy next to you is awkward especially since they can't turn to see each other
5
Robert Kelley the striker might not work. its designed for the much more sensative percussion caps and it looks quite broad too. I'd say if you weren't opposed to modifying the striker or replacing it with one it might work, but the extractor might also have a problem too
5
@osmacar maybe just maybe the group you coincidentally don't agree with isn't to blame for the shit happening in the country or world. maybe those leftists are making a stink because they actually have a legitimate reason, maybe they shouldn't be dismissed, scapegoated, and given nothing but disdain especially when the other side constantly drones on about stopping tyranny, the kind the leftist liberals are seething mad about.
5
@L3GN5RW9 sure, ideas like the superiority of the white race and the need to fight the scourge of international liberalism You can have an open exchange of ideas and have content moderation
5
real wonder what the US civil war would have been like with these. sticking to mostly rifled muzzle loaders was a deliberate choice
5
ya 1938 wasn't gonna be a great year to startup production in Czechoslovakia
5
@archetypalculinarian they only built like a few thousand of them and they're crazy complicated
5
@Ass_of_Amalek 10 years ago you had coalition forces so the region was a bit less volatile
5
"There's only one man who carries a walther ppk, his name is james bond" "What about all the german police that use them?" "wait is that true?" "Well you didn't really think walther just made the one pistol did you? I mean you're the head of SPECTRE after all." "Right right..."
5
no because none of the parts quite fit
5
"Thats for another video when i can get my hands on an AMD" even Ian can't get the new ryzen processors and cards
5
TheGoldenCaulk its worth enough that the insurance comoany tracked it down
5
they had to get the guy out of the village somehow, it was an obvious transition
5
For when "We wanna join NATO" But "The AK is all we know."
5
@simplymadness8849 ya I can see how it might be considered acceptable since the barrel, locking block and bolt assemlbly comes out as one piece and the recoil spring is self contained
5
@Riceball01 tbf the way troops were trained and drilled back then did cause large amounts of wasted ammo when under pressure. at the battle of The Rosebud (the prequel to Little Bighorn) the american troops acting on instinct dumped ammo on the ground in front of them in anticipation of rapid fire only to have to leave that ammo behind due to rapidly being routed. they 'used' something like 25,000 rounds of ammunition for a few dozen dead on both sides. the native americans found piles of ammunition at the defensive positions after the army's retreat. Though that's all the fault of the generals designing the drill and training so its still on them not the troops doing what they were trained to do
5
the decadent west, and not-quite-as-glorious soviets were always taking credit for the gifts the Kim Dynasty (may they rule eternal) gave to the world.
5
its the SUV of rifles, all the look none of the power.
5
10mm in general sounds like the up and coming cartridge that they would standardize on
5
they had a lot of advanced warning considering the italians almost lost albania to a bunch of hungry, unarmed greeks who pushed them all the way back nearly to the adriatic. Mr. Hitler invaded greece out of spite because he was so mad at the italians
5
but at the same time you're loosing a lot of the benefits of a mounted gun in that you can fire a heavier round and not care because there's no recoil and that heavier round can do more than just anti personnel
