When your fancy gun is more important than your hand, wouldn't want to see what would happen if this thing chain fired
5
or a French model 1920 Brick, to compliment his french rock video
5
that or in the US, a small shitty car that could blow up on you
5
the point is to avoid having to design manufacutre and maintain a separate set of rifles
5
Ian must have found a guy who really liked enfields
5
@meowfaceification that could absolutely be the case, someone proficient built it first, THEN joe dirt decided they wanted to take a crack at 'improving' it down the line, still there's also enough work there that indicates it was built the first time
5
its cool when you find these weird one offs, even cooler when you do get the exact story
5
its a novel solution because these rounds are so much larger than a normal bullet so you kind of have to have use the larger force of the recoil system
5
its not like they had polycarb safety glasses back then
5
14:50 oh that's actually pretty cool to be able to cycle this reliably with .38 special
5
its the cartridges themselves that had issues, some guns had multiple firing pins for rimfite cartridges but you could also unload, rotate and reload the cartridge
5
a great gun for fallout's left handed universe.
5
how the hell did hollywood get a hold of a bunch of these if they only made 200ish, I've seen this in movies and TV somewhere maybe they were ksg's
5
the halo Battle Rifle is fairly clearly modeled on it though
5
@Curt Howland My thoughts on it have always been even though the romans proto-industrialized, there wasn't something that made industrialization particularly attractive until you get cannons and guns, then whoever has the most of those started winning wars taking money and resources driving more fighting
5
it is funny how complicated even the simplified Thompson is for being just an open bolt simple blowback gun
5
this isn't very pragmatic, a pragmatic design would just be a rifle grenade kit for the normal guns compromising on the range and rate of fire, not taking a normal gun and making it incapable of being used as an infantry weapon.
5
"And they economised and simplified the production of the Luger" are we talking about the same swiss here?
5
I think the point of these guns is to fire a lot of small caliber bullets in approximately a circle, whereas anything bigger would run the risk of rupturing or being too heavy to handle
5
4 bergmans, 3 chassepots, a hungarian lewis gun, a czeck... oh you're just gonna take the sig saur.
4
@LOUDcarBOMB you don't pay those guys that little
4
"Its unusual, the cylinder flips out to the right, most revolvers flip out to the left." The French copy nobody, and nobody copies the french
4
"Mom I want a magazine cutoff" "We have one at home" Magazine Cutoff at home:
4
@thegreenman2030 I wasn't saying ultreon was alt right just that there's a tendency for people to abuse other platforms and turn them into toxic swanps
4
Harvey baker the american spelling comes from Charles Hall who invented a process for refining pure metal in Oberlin Ohio, then when a similar method was invented by a few other people independently he quickly jumped on the market to manufacture it before the metal price crashed. while his patents were correctly spelled, he marketed aluminum without the extra I for reasons we will never quite understand. Alcoa becoming a juggernaut in the US, our version stuck.
4
its like a czeck glock in 45.
4
its where roller delayed is headed, neat, does what its supposed to do, but there's other simpler to manufacture ways to do it. only like H&K still keep up roller delay systems and they're moving away from that to traditional locking lugs
4
ah nothing more useless than volley sights on a naval rifle
4
hes checking the mount though not the optic
4
"And they don't shut them down, they take delivery of the guns themselves" 😂😂 once again capitalism defeats the forces of communism through the power of money!
4
the cornershot of ww2. not that cornershot is all that useful itself
4
could just be they had 10" Tokarev barrel blanks and that's what they used
4
and did what the m14 also did, cost a fortune to make
4
this is like 65 years before someone got the idea to standardize screws
4
slowpokebr549 how does the breech stay closed and or how does one prevent an out of battery fire? this looks like it could get loose and not lock up quite right
4
@Ojthemighty more like saying a knife and a sword are interchangeable since there's been small swords and very large knives. The distinction between the two is quite new as pointed out by ian, especially when there were rifles designed with detachable magazines, but issued ammo in clips
4
@noecarrier5035 and germany be like "Lol, lets bring a bigger gun!" and thus they did
4
district 9 discovered a way to make any gun look cool by painting it with stripes, and white paint
4
@thomas316 There's this guy that wanted to buy Greenland for No Good Reason, and hold its glaciers hostage to US environmental laws (or lack there of) so 'liberating' iceland isn't that out of question given that same person is in need of a war to bolster their support
4
absolutely amazing that thing looks factory fresh 100+ years old
4
HE'S GONNA FINISH SOMEDAY!
4
@Andreas Müller its not really about crimes anyways, they don't have malls, bars, and just about everywhere else shot up all the time by disgruntled people
4
not many guns that you can say have a minimum range, then you find this guy
4
the side latches would make me more confident in picking the thing up without those bottom latches popping off and dumping the whole thing. the secret service case makes a lot more sense than the other two for actual use, while the other 2 feel like they go on a shelf, then the back of a car then back on a shelf
4
MCM has such a cool Fallout Brotherhood of Steel logo
4
13:27 I hate it and love it
4
@r.b.rozier9692 bigger navy than britain...
4
Calico: He shot more than 200 rounds without a mechanical failure, WE MUST EXAMINE THESE GUNS
4
the SMLE, the gun that defended the Empire and all her shores
4
