  3. Great job on this Alex! Love the exterior design of the IS. Sadly its current powertrains, interior spac, and seats are uncompetitive. I think more aggressive pricing would go a long way. Very curious though how they price the V8 in the IS500. $45k-$50k for the IS500 would sway me over to Lexus. Otherwise I'd go updated G70 3.3TT.

  4. The touch pad is dangerously bad. Very poor interface. Add to that a mostly fwd biased drive and rare, rare instances where it might decide to send power to the rear. I'll take the real McCoy RWD based platform over this Honda.

  5. When listing the Lexus ES and Avalon with a plus for having "avaliable awd" you should really note its only with the anemic 2.5L 4 cylinder. No awd can be had with the 3.5L V6 just like the Cadenza.

  6. I think the LC500 is beautiful. The tech is horrible. Its curb weight is too heavy for the money you are spending. Its na V8 is a gem and one of the best sounding engines available. Objectivly the 911 is better in every measure. C8 Corvette out does the LC in every measure as well for $40k less. The LC is for the Toyota owner than never leaves a Lexus show room.

  7. At $27.5k for the manual I am going VW GTI with 228hp and a LSD over this Mazda all day. That price is crazy high for the same engine as prior gen. $28k for a manual is too much. What a bummer

  8. Someone likes crying. Same problem Tesla is facing yet they can't build them fast enough demand is so high. Same goes for the Toyota Prius. Stop being a GM fanboy. If it's a good enough product, people will pay money for it. Simple as that.

  9. Very impressed with this GW. That said, I hope the dealership experience and build quality improve to match that six digit pricetag. If you want to compete wth luxury brands, its not just the product that matters.

  10. I'm happy you said it, I haven't seen pulled leather since 90s Lexus products. Its strange that Nissan didn't give this the nine speed the the Titan recorded to help fuel economy. Not a bad vehicle that just needs a couple tweaks to really help it. Nine speed would help fuel economy which is the one real negative. I do love Nissans 5.6L V8. Gem of an engine

  12. sic22l the Corolla, Elantra, 3, Forte, Focus, Civic, Sentra all have HID as an option so not sure where the hell you shop?

  17. A CVT on a three row SUV is an instant no. Besides the fact it ruins the driving feel, you can't tow anything. CVT slips and gets too hot regaurdless of what the salesperson said.

  20. It really does seem Vroom is hit or miss. I sold a car to them a year ago and it went smoothly. I'm sure a lot has changed in a year bit I would be very upset if I had your experience. Sounds incredibly frustrating at best.

  21. For the price, you cannot do better. It's a great deal. My knit picks against it is the continued horrible Honda wheel design and that it is closer to the regular Civic in terms of performance than the Type R

  24. Really wished Kia would use the ZF 8 Speed gearbox as there home made boxes just aren't as nice. Interior is a home run. Very nice inside

  25. Junk CVT and deficiencies economy. The Civic is faster, more efficient, and better equipped. Alex's point that a worse car(Sentra) is cheaper than the competition being it's main selling point makes no sense. It doesn't compete against the higher, more expensive trims of the Civic and Corolla. Those two also can be had with a manual transmission which are so much better than a Nissan CVT. Forte with a 10 year warranty killed the Sentra as well

  27. Given the leaf doesn't even have active cooling, it shouldn't even be considered. If Nissan cut costs there, I don't even want to think of where else they cut corners. That said, I simply can't afford these. $25k is the max I can afford so I would go Honda Civic Sport and can buy all the gas in the world before I break even with a $40k ev

  28. Not a fan of how Nissan did pricing. At $50k its overpriced and at $40k it should have a LSD. As a former 300ZX, 350Z, and 370Z you can see all the 370Z parts everywhere which is fine if they kept the pricing affordable like prior 370Z but they didnt. GR86 is getting my money as I can't afford the new Z now. Nissan priced me out of the market

  29. Alex, didn't you test a Kia Sportage SX 0 - 60mph ? Why is that never included in your comparison stats? Intention this because it's one of the fastest if not fastest insegment but you don't include it in you 0 to 60 list giving the impression the Equinox is faster than a Forester or Sportage. I want justice

  34. I disagree strongly with Alex about looks over function. I want a functioning infotainment system over snappy looks. Lag drives me up a wall and very unpremium What a joke of a country gives someone buying a $95k luxury SUV, $7k?! That totally makes sense. They clearly are struggling for money....

  44. Happy they tune this without air suspension. Acura common problem is its under braked. They need to fix that. Would definitely take this over the XC90 which I find an impressive vehicle in itself. I just love the sh awd and the reliability

  45. @Alex On Autos was wondering your take on CARB? I like the idea of low pollution but think they are too agenda driven. I feel more of a focus should be on coal power plants, airplanes, commercial trucks, and cow flatulence. I feel that petrol passenger cars are very efficient. I do not like the mandate on EVs. I consider you more of an expert on this than myself and curious on your thought. I want V8s to still be alive. I love cars. I feel CARB wants us back in the 80s.
