CVT garbage that now no longer looks distinctive thanks to the Altima. Still fwd only unlike the Altima. They couldnt even bother to give the front a LSD for its "sportyness". Nothing sporty here. At the Maximas price point get something actually sport like the Kia Stinger
6
For $45k im going with the better driving rwd fun, Kia Stinger or a rwd discounted rwd Cadillac CTS with this engine you have to buy a GM product. The non defetable stop start is a deal breaker on this Buick. Has a Malibu rental and it cut the a.c. at every stop when it was 103 degrees out. The worst car I've ever driven. Terrible
6
The Rspec is Lighter, better handling, faster, better looking, ect over the bloated GT thing
6
Do people really spend $47k on this? There is nothing bad about this Sorento other than its dated looking, but the price just blows my mind.
6
Oh because blown head gaskets and CVT whine is where its at?
6
An American car, with American build quality, and German component unreliability. What could go wrong? When they said make a big box with wheels, NA VW took them literally
6
I honestly would prefer the Mazda CX5 over this. If only the CX5 had a powerful engine option. This car is expensive as does nothing to provoke desire or want. Mazda did it better
6
$71k for this? Never.

Excellent job on the review. The 3-2 downshift was easily the best part. As a former 370Z owner and now Dodge Challenger, I appreciate the analogue machines left an this this WRX and STI are definitely among them. I like that you didn't knock it for having button and knobs that just work. I am all for functionality an I think the WRX has that in spades. Up to $30k ish mark the WRX makes all the sense in the world. Any bit over that mark, would have me eying a STI though. However that is even less civilian than the WRX so I can understand the desire not to.go STI
6
I love the K900. Coming from a former 7 series owner, I'd get the K900 over both. Just a fantastic car

Great review! Nissan infotainment system really is a let down considering the price. Even Infiniti offerings are lacking. yet somehow they would rather invest in drive by wire systems. Really dumbfounding

The problem with the red sport is its less sports car than the G37. You cannot get a LSD for the rear which is mind boggling for that much torque, and not manual transmission option. Would take all the competitions sporty offerings over this lazy automatic. Also it's very heavy for the class. Just a let down. No idea why they focus on Direct Wire Steer in a "sports car" where you want feel and steering input.
5
Exactly my thoughts. Owned a Kia Sportage and Hyundai Genesis Coupe in the past. Love them, but the price tag is insane on this
5
The GX does nothing better than the cheaper Trailblazer. Car is slow, manual selected awd and feels cheap inside. As long as you know this isn't coming from North America (like all but one Buick) and are cool with that, then enjoy. I do think it's nicer than the Encore and visually is more appealong, but thats a low bar in my opinion. It's average which in this segment seems to be more than enough.I'd go Mazda CX30 or Kia Selto 1.6T for that price
5
You clearly haven't driven a new car with hp. Stop being so cheap
5
A 5 speed automatic....2020 and a 5 speed. Horrid gas mileage and performance.
5
Finally a honest review! Thank you! The touch pad infotainment system is dangerously bad. Not intuitive at all. CRV is much better as an all around vehicle to those who have actually driven and used the two. Truetouch makes you wish for a touchscreen
5
Great review as always. Really goofy looking proportions for the vehicle. Tall and narrow track. Does nothing to shed the whole dorky EV looking vehicle stigma sadly. If possible could you get the audio louder? Have the speakers on max and still quiet
5
I really hate how Mini ruined this car. It's no longer Mini and it's not cheap or reliable. The Fiesta ST was the better mini. Shame Ford had to be lame.
5
@Paul M have you sat in a Hinda or Toyota product? Take about poor materials. Hell Toyota doesn't even have Android auto which is just embarrassing.
5
Love the review. I think $55k for a compact SUV is crazy even though I know it's cheap compared to some German offerings. Not sure what the QX50 can offer over the new Acura RDX. The final nail in the coffinis the cvt. $55k and it has a CVT. Only Lexus or Subaru can get away with that to its cult like followers. Timing is everything and this is too little, too late.
5
DeadofWinter321 so is a mini van. Doesn't mean I want to drive one. If all that concerns you is reliablity and resale, don't buy a car. Clearly you just want something autonomous
5
Interior is lacking and looks cheap
5
ItzMorphinTime22 they wonder why no one buys rwd sports cars anymore. Maybe because they have all become $50k. I'm not paying that
5
Just wanted to add my Mom went and test drove the new CRV, Rav4, Rouge, and CX5 and chose the Sportage SX for its acceleration and handling. The Rav4 she said feels dangerous to merge it's so gutless. Said the Rogue felt faster than the CX 5 which I found interesting. She also said the CX 5 top trim felt very basic and no apple carplay killed it along with a weak engine. Her words which I happen to agree with.
5
They made it fatter, more numb, and slower. Yeah Mazda sucks. When the basic CRV can take you at the light its time to reevaluate your "luxury" offering Mazda. This needs the 2.5L turbo engine option. Also please just put a pioneer head unit in this thing with Apple car play. Your dated tech is embarrassing
5
The Aviator is RWD based unlike this Traverse which is front wheel drive. Having a V8 that can onky send 50 percent tp the back os useless.
5
So its still useless for a third row but now more expesive, slower and less efficent. Appreciate greatly that Mike isn't bias and praise Toyota blindly like most reviewers. Great job as always
5
I just wouldn't buy it at all. Ford won't fix this. Savage is amazing and accurate
5
Sad
5
You pick Acura of all "premium" brands? Hell HondA makes better luxury products than Acura. Very low bar. No IRS at this price is a joke. The dated tech is terrible as well. Shiney black plastic on the inside definitely is not "premium"
5
Shane Nelson or the turbo engine as the 6 as well. Agree
5
Mike what competition are you saying it's better than? I think a Ford Fusion Sport is better than this. Than there is the new Buick Regal GS, Infiniti G50, and Kia Stinger.
5
Cliff you hit it on the head! So much tech and much of it gimmicky. Guarenteed to fail prematurely and cost way too much to fix. True driver's car lies in the Genesis G70
5
That 2.4L is a poor engine choice for this application in my opinion
5
So how much does the V8 model cost with stick shift and a LSD?
5
ultimate bro dozer. These will only see asphalt
4
your intro kinda stated it all. This whole review is irresistible with the new model coming out. No reason to watch
4
Really wish GM didn't make this look like such a dorky car. It's so tall and narrow. Really ugly
4
It amazes me that Alfa killed it on the Stevia and Guilia right out of the box and Cadillac, who has thrown billions and decades, to be blown away. Cadillac may have a New York headquarters but the competition has it beat every wear else. Jaguar and Alfa have done an amazing job.
4
Chris you mention how the safety tech didn't work or was an irritation. What manufacturer in you opinion has the best safety tech that always work?
4
Also fantastic review! Honestly one of the best takes I've seen on the Continental
4
nothing more tacky than the amount of chrome covered plastic used here. So cheap looking
4
Honestly hate these cars and the Ford Explorer solely because I see them twenty times a day as a Police car. It's like choosing names for your child. The bully in school was named Kyle and you could never name your child Kyle because all you would think about is that bully
4
This car is really let down by its hefty curb weight
4
The "new" Highlander is very average. The Supra like rear fenders dont work. When you say its a Lexus, you are not wrong. The RX is the same but with alot of grill. Tech is dated in both even though they were "updated, new" new this year. I would go Kia Telluride/Hyundai Palisade over this all day, including the RX. The twins have a luxurious interior, superior tech, NA V6, and usable rear 3rd row. The Pilot is very bland and has a worse interior. That said it feels larger inside and has a usable 3rd row. I would take the Toyota because of the Pilot's transmission. I think the Subaru Accent is better than this newer Highlander. Very well done review Cliff.
4
A big let down for as long as Hyundai took to release a new Tuscan. The powertrains are both very underwhelming. They hybrid is not smooth or fast. The touch capacitive controls instead of knobs and buttons for hvac and stereo controls is a huge step backwards. A miss in my opinion and I love Hyundai/Kia/Genesis products.
4
Wish we got the Patrol here instead of this cute ute. Infiniti wishes the QX80 was a Patrol but sadly misses key parts. Nissan really needs better product for the Armada and Murano.
4
Great review! Honestly, I will never understand someone who buys these. So much money for nothing
4
The Elantra Sport has rendered the Jett pointless in my opinion. Same great German styling, better price, better features and performance, better reliability.
