  1. Asking for a ceasefire is like Germany asking a ceasefire after the Red Army entered Germany. The job in Ukraine has to be finished like the Red Army did to evict the German Nazis.

But Russia is strong and that is why Sweden and Finland want to join. The chicken need protection out of the fear the cute Polar Bear might devour them. However, the Polar Bear only attacks if you attack it. NATO is irrelevant and incompetent regardless of whether the EU spends 2% or not, and regardless of whether more chicken like Sweden and Finland join. None of them combined can match Russia. The US controls NATO. The command structure of NATO is with the US and NATO is only a tool for US hegemony. If the US orders, NATO members will have to go to Afghanistan. And if the US wants to leave Kabul, it does not bother to tell others. Likewise, the US decided Ukraine will not join NATO. No one else has a say.

Poles would provide the bodies, the other three the minds. The Poles will be fooled this time also, they are emotional people without reasoning capacity. 'Roosevelt and Churchill decided that Poland should be in the communist bloc behind the Iron Curtain.' They had no choice, the Soviet Union and Stalin were too powerful, the Red Army had destroyed 80% of the German armies, and it had driven the Germans out of Poland. It was the Red Army that liberated Auschwitz. If it was left to Germany, there would be no Poland; and if they had relied on the British, they would have been waiting a long time. Roosevelt/Truman and Churchill/Atlee had no choice but to accept Stalin's demands. At least, the Soviets left a Poland, the one that exists today. Putin reminded the Poles that modern Poland is a gift of Stalin. In an interesting twist, the Pole Konstantin Rokossovsky was one of the Red Army's famous generals who took part in Operation Bagration which stormed the German lines and started the drive to Berlin. After the war, Rokossovsky was made Defence Minister - of Poland ! Th founder of the KGB was the Pole Felix Dzherzhinsky.

  11. Putin mentioned in a speech that Woodrow Wilson's aide proposed after the first WW the desirability to break up Russia into 3 countries. In Wilson's time, the US sent troops to help the White Russians against the Bolsheviks in the Civil War. The US troops were even in Siberia. Hence, there is a precedent and the neocons are only following in Wilson's footsteps. Hence, Russia has every reason to distrust the US. Stalin industrialised the Soviet Union in 10 years, saying that if that was not done, Germany and the west would destroy it. Thanks to Stalin, the Soviet Union became a superpower, and Russia inherited that power. The US and British plans will be thwarted because Russia is now powerful.

  12. I can confirm the situation in Germany is and will be bad. Electricity for industry is now 10x the price for domestic consumers. Aluminium plants have closed down. Germany has to get tough with Lithuania and all these useless Eastern European countries that hold the EU to ransom, with their Russophobia. The other European countries need to understand that if the German economy goes down, then the whole of Europe goes down, and all these weak countries like Poland will also be affected. Further, neo Nazi groups will grow in Germany and Europe.

  14. An American general claimed that the Ukranians had made some progress and captured something - but he said end of Dec. is a realistic target for Ukraine to get back Kherson ! Hence, the western cheer leaders don't want to say it is a flop, but they extend the time line, so we forget about it. Summer offensive is turning into winter offensive. Only some time ago, Zelensky said he will have Kherson and Crimea before winter.

The British look down on Europeans, and they see Russian as even more backward Asiatics. Ben Wallace, their former Defence Secretary said in 2022 'we kicked the Tsar's bottom in the Crimean war (1856) and we shall do so again'. That is the mentality of the British.

On the Kursk front, Russia is building a cordon around the Kursk nuclear plant which was the objective of the incursion. After that, they have started killing off the intruders. 'I wonder if he is starting to regret starting this stupid war.' Have the Ukrainians wondered about giving up on neutrality, and fighting a proxy war for the US and NATO. Does it make sense to get killed and lose your country for people who will abandon them eventually ? Have the Europeans wondered about surrendering their independence to the US, and ending up with 9 million refugees, having to subsidise Ukraine for years, and buying gas from the US at 4x the price of Russian gas, leading to de-industrialising ? Perhaps you could engage your brain and realise you cannot threaten Russia without consequences.

As for AI, America is afraid China is leading in AI and robots. How will you control the global order when others start trading without dollars ? You invaded Iraq and Libya to stop that. But now you do not have the power to invade Russia, China and others to stop that. You incited Ukraine to fight Russia, but you do not have the guts to send troops to save them.

And as people have pointed out, Ukranians knock out 66 out of 70 missiles but complain Russia is destroying their power infrastructure. The western media routinely say Russia has run out of missiles but more keep coming.

  25. Alexander has been saying for some time Russia is moving into Bakhmut and that is an important advance. Today's BBC has a mournful report on Russian shelling on Bakhmut. That is a sure sign that Ukraine has reached a plateau. It is clear the west made a mountain out of a molehill, and made out the Ukrainians were defeating the Russians. There are no more stories about Ukrainians rampaging forward and demoralised Russians running away.

They have not reached the first Russian defence line anywhere to start a breach. They are still in the grey zone, all their attempts have failed - and led to huge casualties and loss of equipment. The western media is not hiding it. So 200+ square kilometers (which is unverified) are irrelevant. Ukraine has till end of October to make a breach before the muddy season comes. When the offensive fails, you will see the US pulling out the plugs.

  31.  @richardhasler6718  Crimea is not Ukranian territory. It was given by Russia during Soviet days. So don't encourage false hopes. In fact, whole of Ukraine belongs to Russia. Russia gave independence on the condition Ukraine returned the nukes and agreed to be neutral. Ukraine started to renege unilaterally on the second commitment, hence Russia has cancelled Ukraine's independence. The Ukranians have lost a lot of lives for foolhardy causes encouraged by the US. In the end, it is being defeated, and the US will walk away. Biden has effectively thrown Ukraine under the bus when he signalled in Vilnius that Ukraine will not join NATO. If you look at some of the US Presidential contenders like Trump and Ramasamy, they openly say Ukraine is not US business, it is Russian business. When they come, you will change your tune also and agree to hand over Ukraine to Russia.

  35.  @kenrik2105  The west will keep sending money and arms out of false pride (NATO expansion was their idea and they told Ukraine it is their sacred birth right), till the economic cost becomes too much to bear and the war is open ended. For the west a stalemate is no good as it would drain them financially. The west needs Ukraine to win - which is impossible. In Afghanistan, it took US 20 years to realise that the US could not win and it was just a loss of money. In Ukraine, it depends how long before Americans feel a sufficient economic pinch and start backing out of supporting Ukraine.

  38. I agree that what Britain is doing is highly risky and Britain might find itself on a limb if it tries to sabotage Trump. I agree that Russia calculates and acts. They are great chess players. They make their move after they analyse the opponent's move and their consequences. In this context, they will wait 2 months, and then they would be right in thinking if they strike Britain with a hypersonic, Trump won't come to save Britain's skin. It will be a replay of the 1956 Suez fiasco when Britain, France and Israel sent a expeditionary force to Egypt after Nasser nationalised the Suez Canal (at that time also, they said it was in defence of the international rules based order). At that time, the Soviet Union said it would nuke Britain unless it withdrew. Eisenhower looked the other way and told Britain it was its look out, and the US was unwilling to fight another war in Europe so seen after fighting against Germany. The Suez fiasco was cause for Anthony Eden's downfall.

  50.  @drmodestoesq  In the case of Iranians, they had to fight off American interference in their country, such as overthrow of Mossadegh and fostering the Shah whose Savak was trained by the US. The Iranians are forced to fight and drive out Americans from the region to survive. It is not the same for the Amercians : they fight and wage wars for profit, as there is nexus between Lockheed etc. and US politicians.
