The US is betting big on Mexico and I can't help but wonder if this is a huge mistake. Mexico is technically a shit hole run by corrupt incompetents and drug gangs. What could possibly go wrong? 🤦♂️ Oh, and as an aside, i doubt if the US shale revolution will last long. Then the US will be back to importing oil and they will have only two choices: Saudi Arabia, if it hasn't been destroyed by Iran, or turning Venezuela into a colony, which probably makes a lot more sense. Meanwhile all countries in the West should start building a LOT of nuclear reactors ASAP. Slava Ukraine. 🇺🇦🇬🇧

It's an interesting proposal. Of course the real thing that's needed is to reduce government spending and debt. I've recently been wondering which taxes are more favourable for people to have children. Currently the system is broken and many people who want to start a family aren't able to and that's VERY, VERY BAD - in fact I'd go as far as to say that it's a nation killer, if not a civilization killer.
1
It's actually an intentional feature of the system. If all it takes to stop a candidate is to jail them, then democracy is more fragile. All the best.

Because of two world wars.

The only thing that would be viable for growing is Weed.

Maybe if Russia collapsed, in which case why stop there. The Kamchatka peninsula has all the oil and gas which Japan would ever need. But that would be quite a gamble and Japan is cautious these days.

Oooooh. I forgot about down voting. Thanks. 👍👍
1
No. That was just rhetoric to undermine Russia's influence in the region. Oh and Turkey has always been the worst ally of NATO, though France gives them a run for their money. Slava Ukraine. 🇺🇦🇬🇧

Popcorn is all sold out. Ukraine bulk bought it ALL! 😂 Slava Ukraine. 🇺🇦🇬🇧

Some people will still be wearing masks because of Covid in 50 years time. 😷 You can't fix stupidity - ever. 😂

I don't think that Peter is the one to answer short term macro economic questions.
1
I seriously doubt if real nuclear weapons will be moved to Belarus. The same effect can be achieved by using dummies, with no downsides.
1
I really, really doubt it. 😐

I think that ship has sailed.
1
Oooh, I've not heard about this. Do you have a link? Thanks.

Yeah, he had one chance to get rid of Argentina's Central Bank and formally Dollarize. He didn't, so he'll fail. Simple.
1
@blackcatdungeonmastersfami5311 He's really going into overdrive now though. I wonder why? Paetreons leaving? Talks cancelled? CIA funding withdrawn? 🤣
1
The only question is: mustache or not? Strong leaders don't have a great history in Germany.
1
@idiottv6499 Even in their so called golden age they didn't apply their knowledge much at all though.
1
All governments ultimately rule with the consent of the people. It's the job of the "real" Iranians to change their government and they have had plenty of time to do so. You're right about not caring about the Iranian people though thankfully. It's the job of governments to look after their own people. You are free to go to Iran and help the "real" people though. Good luck with that.

Stiff up lip old chap. 😉 God save the King. 🇬🇧

@MDK-c4x Are interconnected electrical grid robust compared with national ones though? For instance are interconnected systems more vulnerable to cyber attacks? Also if there is a shortage then which country is prioritised - has this ever happened in Europe? France recently had to reduce the energy produced by their nuclear power plants because it would impact the temperature of the river water.

@atix50 I used to live in London during the first Gulf War. Certain parts of London were getting bad then and I hear that it has become much, much worse. This small boat "crisis" (the crisis is that our military is not allowed to defend the UK!🤯) is bound to make everything worse. I'm glad that you were ok and learned from the incident. All the best from Scotland. 👍
1
@atix50 No I hadn't heard about the problems in Dublin. The BBC should really be called the English Broadcasting Corporation, they even tilt the weather map to make England look bigger than Scotland. I understand the logic of their focus the English population is huge, but it's not particularly relevant for me now, hence my news input is lacking. I have heard that unless you are either very rich or poor that it has become impossible to raise a family in London. Mind blowing! I feel for your family. You're right about the advantages of being able to relocate. I don't think that the colour of your skin matters in the slightest. My family have many heritages British, Eastern European and Jamaican currently and we range of colours from very dark to pale blue with frequent sunburn (me! 🤣). Culture is hugely important and most European cultures are extremely compatible (with a couple of exceptions possibly due to history - looking at you Albania and Serbia and I'm excluded that insane mess called Russia). Religion wise is similar. We mainly get along with a couple of exceptions. I am pleased that a religious hotspot disguised as a political problem, Ireland, is slowly resolving it's issues. I wonder if this is because religiosity there is generally on the decline and/or people now appreciate the peace. Either way it's a good thing. In truth every country has its good and bad points, but it is extremely sad and troubling to have to consider leaving your homeland because those in power neglect to protect what we have. It's worrying to think that I wouldn't consider any politician a statesman since the end of the Cold War. This may not be a coincidence, as we probably make better decisions when facing a credible and apparent for. Sorry about the ramble. 😁 Good chatting. 👍

🤣 The downside of being the boss: nobody tells you to smarten up your act.

I believe that Mussolini managed to destroy the Mafia in Italy with government sanctioned extreme violence. One of the few things which he did right. The US used the Mafia in the invasion of Italy and paid a hefty price for it.
1
@muhschaf Yes I understand where you're coming from, but if it's possible to repress it for long enough it should be able to be stopped. It's not like a particular people have genetic predisposition to organised crime. Governmental or social structure may enable certain groups to thrive however and these would in addition need to be addressed. All the best.

A pipe dream! 😂

Bingo! We have a winner.

Methinks that he overvalues his worth.

@emceeboogieboots1608 The ability to lock in interest rates like you do in the USA and Canada is not possible in most of the world. Everywhere else has variable rates. You are lucky. All the best.

Why doesn't NYC charge exorbitant taxes on vacant apartments? Besides it won't matter soon when the mother of all market crashes and pops the gigantic real estate bubble like a kid with a pin! 💥 Hang on tight, it's going to be a wild ride. Slava Ukraine. 🇺🇦🇬🇧
1
Great question. You kind of answer it yourself though. The capital should return, less care costs, tax and inflation. The inflation is the wildcard as governments may let it run hot to reduce the size of the deficit (most likely IMHO) or control it if they can.

@pseudoscientist8010 ... in the slightest.

100% 👍

@Nick-bh5bk The Green Movement is a religion to many and hard facts are irrelevant given that mindset. Greens reject nuclear, because it's bad and nuclear weapons scare them so instead they want to wait forever for fusion to save the earth. Hydro electric is bad because dams change nature. Hydrocarbons are bad because they all pollute. What's left is solar and wind which the Greens love because they can't do basic maths. Also many don't want children because of this, but one of the hidden dangers of not having children is that being a parent forces most people to grow up and stop believing in fairy tales. Ultimately at the core of the Green movement is something which they don't discuss openly, which is that they view humanity as a plague and want the population to decrease drastically, though they aren't suicidal so would prefer undefined others to disappear to reduce global population. Today the Green Movement is very similar to a cult IMHO. All the best.
1
The world is going to reject EVs and green religion soon IMHO.

No way! We got out of the Empire business post war and there's no way we're going back. Good riddance. 😂 God save the King. 🇬🇧

@blackcatdungeonmastersfami5311 Bingo! We have a winner.
1
Oh, there absolutely could be a revolution. Remember that those 10,000 clerics could all disappear in a day if the people decide that they've had enough. I don't think that we're there yet, but this may be the start of something unstoppable. 🤞
1
They are and then the ultra corrupt local government officials manipulate the data, then the mega corrupt central government officials manipulate the data and finally we get given the data which makes them look good to the world. If that's not bad enough Xi probably has only minimal information about the problem. It couldn't happen to a nicer bunch than the CCP! 🤣

@MarcosElMalo2 Well said. 👍

@ImAliveAndYouAreDead In 77 years it may be uninhabitable?

Another reasonable comment deleted by YouTube. Isn't it great to live in a post truth world. 😐

Yea, I actually expect the grain corridor to keep working, because if Russia pulls out then ALL Russian commercial shipping is fair game in the Black Sea - grain, oil, everything, going in and out. Russia knows this and I don't think that they can afford it. Correction. RUSSIA ABSOLUTELY CAN'T AFFORD IT. They'll beat their chests and threaten all the time, but if it stops then Ukraine is going to put some Harpoon Missiles on a speedboat and target Russian civilian shipping. Slava Ukraine. 🇺🇦🇬🇧

@protorhinocerator142 I wouldn't say that it was an outcome of socialism at all. The energy decisions in Germany have been highly influenced by Russian propaganda. Russia has since the end of the Cold War been waging a propaganda war against nuclear power. Russia is a major exporter of hydrocarbons and nuclear power reduces demand for oil and gas. Russia wants Europe to be dependent on Russia for political reasons. Lavrentiy Beria when head of the NKVD (later the KGB) famously asked Soviet scientists to come up with reasons why nuclear technologies were bad in order to scare the West from using them - they theorised that nuclear war could cause a Nuclear Winter, but there has never been any validation of this concept, yet politically it worked. Later the German Green Party was heavily influenced by Russian propaganda and likely funded by them too. They essentially condemn all forms of carbon emissions without providing any alternative solutions. IMHO their energy policies are completely unrealistic and will impoverish Germany. Thankfully support today for the Green Party is fast falling. The EU has recently also made it impossible to build any new nuclear power plants by making it a requirement for there to be absolutely ZERO risk from a nuclear facility regardless of circumstances. I am sure any fool could think of many situations which could pose some risk. The EU has used covert ingenuous bureaucratic means to completely halt the construction of any new nuclear reactors in all of the EU. (As an aside, I used to live in Germany and find it very interesting how, up until now at least, they are probably more easily influenced by such propaganda than most other countries. A German national trait is that they are extremely law abiding and love rules/laws. All that is required to get the German people to do something is to enshrine it in law. The Russians managed exactly this with Net Zero, while also getting them to reject nuclear energy!) All the best.

This can be done in the West given the will, but I doubt that it will happen in the rest of the world where the majority of coal is used.
1
@bighands69 I agree with you 100%. My issue is that many countries choose coal because they can't afford anything else and they can't afford, or are simply unwilling to spend the money on, on the additional equipment to scrub the exhaust gasses or the additional capital cost of replacing a coal fired power plant if adapting an existing plant is impossible. It is indeed a moral dilemma and the poor of the world are bound to suffer and pay proportionately more as usual. All the while the rich and powerful shamelessly jet off to carbon reduction conferences with no compression of the irony. Why build a completely new infrastructure? Follow the money for your answer. Most decisions can be explained by money and power. It's a global problem as the CO2 disperses evenly very quickly, if, and it's a very big if still despite the confidence of its proponents, global warming has as big an effect as predicted. My problem is that for literally my entire life there has been a constant percentage of the population who have preached that The End is Nigh and We Are All Doomed! Same shit different global catastrophe. Global warming has become a religion and I fully intend to sit this one out. I'm not a traveller or big consumer so I have less impact than the vast majority anyway. Good chat, have a great day.
