  29. Why should the Americans sell to a backstabbing nation just because they chose the wrong friends? If American LNG is not good enough for them the first time around, it certainly won’t be good the second. Furthermore, if Russia decides to go empire shopping with the money the Germans give them and the Baltic nations get run over, it will have been Germany that signed their death warrants by trading with their conquerors. The Russians don’t keep a massive military presence in Kaliningrad for no reason.

  45. What you are proposing will BANKRUPT Europe. Ask anyone in Germany or the UK or France if they are ok with paying more in taxes while receiving less while sending their sons to die in the east. Doing that combined with a US-Europe trade war will devastate economies all across the continent.

  49. Globalism. The allies were using it against the USA and now the chickens have come home to roost. The two worst things the USA ever agreed to are NAFTA and China's MFN status. It killed the USA, and now the only way to clean up the wreckage is with austerity measures. Isolate, cut back, rebuild. China must find another market to sell in, Mexico must look inwards at themselves, Europe has to find unity without the USA bankrolling it.

  50. Europe is going to have raise taxes massively in order to raise an army. Germany a few weeks ago said if the EU devoted 5% of GDP to a military it would bankrupt the continent. America can no longer afford to be Europe's bodyguard.
