Imagine losing the battle of the black sea to a country with no navy, yikes.
881
@x0xain137 Afghanistan won, so did the Chechens. Try not to cry.

@TodaTruth The 'were fighting all of NATO' is the most embarrassing Russian propaganda. Russia is fighting Ukraine with around 5% of NATO's budget as aid, mostly in the form of old stock.
87
@briancarno8837 The targets were two airports around Moscow. Russia downing and jamming some of the drones resulted in them falling in civilian areas.
54
@tallflguy Marginal gains in exchange for horrific losses isn't exactly a winning strategy.
50
user-wt9kp3py2l Personal insults aren't goin to un-sink the ship bud, dry your eyes.
50
Hopefully Putin also gets a pager for his birthday.
48
Yes, these were just local little green men who had visited their local army surplus stores for supplies. Next up is the referendum in these territories, advanced polling indicates 99% are in favor of independence from Russia.
47
@MikeGraves-pd2tg The far right party in Ukraine got less than 1% of the vote in the last election. The ruling party of Russia is fascist.
41
@Gerrard_Pike2008 It was a warship by any definition Manu, call it whatever you like though if it helps you cope.
38
@anberrific7300 around 3% of NATO's annual budget is helping Ukraine, mostly in the form of old equipment destined for the scrap heap. The supposed worlds #2 army has lost half its fighting force and cant even take the Donbas, which is a few hours drive from Moscow.
35
@ct0903 Nope, built 2014, commissioned 2018 and sunk 2024. edit: correction the first of the class was commissioned in 2018, this particular ship was commissioned in 2022.
35
@Gerrard_Pike2008 Are the NATO officers and CIA bases in the room with you right now Manu?
35
@WarAuthority The US lost 2,459 personel in 20 years in Afghanistan, Russia lost almost 10x that in half the time and got smoked so hard their entire empire collapsed.
34
@chrisj2502 141 voted at the UN to condemn Russia's invasion, including China. Only a handful of countries voted for Russia with a few others abstaining.
34
It also helps when they use tanks and IFV's instead of golf carts and dirt bikes.
30
user-wt9kp3py2l You think the entire US pacific fleet was defeated by centuries old planes and you think I need to learn history? I'm also not sure what something that happened 80 years ago has to do with Russia losing the battle of the black sea to a county with no navy. Try not to cry ok.
30
@JoBlakeLisbon Are the 20 US bases in the room with you right now?
29
@erikn.8626 Closer to 18%, which is the same amount they occupied two years ago, almost all of which was taken in 2014 or in the opening stages of the 2022 invasion before Ukraine had mobilized. Russia has spent the past 2.5 years making marginal gains at best, at the cost of massive losses in men and material. Ukraine is currently folding Russia up like laundry in Kursk.
26
@ablankpage295 2014 is when Russia began its invasion, there were no problems in the Donbas prior to that.
24
@Ken-er9cq China did eventually vote to condemn Russia. April 26, 2023 China unexpectedly voted in favor of the UN resolution condemning Russia.
24
@UkraineNeeds That was Wagner that took Bakhmut. And they took such catastrophic losses that it broke them and they mutinied. Moreover Bakhmut was a mid sized town a couple miles across the border, acting like Berlin was just occupied is embarrassing.
22
@Gerrard_Pike2008 A patrol ship is still a warship Manu. If it helps you sleep at night you can pretend it was a cruise ship that spent every winter delivering Christmas presents to the good little boys and girls of Crimea.
21
@eyobtesfaye5337 Russia are the aggressors here, nobody would be getting attacked anywhere if they hadn't invaded. Also why are you copy/pasting the same silly comment over and over?
20
@Jeroen_Maes The targets were two airports around Moscow. The drones struck residential areas as a result of being downed by Russia.
20
@explore8705 Ukraine has regained over 50% of the territory Russia once occupied.
19
@Stronger5386 2014 is when Russia began its invasion, they were the ones who instigated the conflict.
18
@Patendyck76 You're right they are a superpower that can't even take the Donbas despite it being a few hours drive from Moscow. Please.
17
@nemanja162 There were two Chechen wars genius.
16
@I_Love_Lord Russia's grain blockade has failed and they've retreated from Sevastopol and the western black sea after losing close to two dozen ships including their flagship and a submarine. Not sure what you think losing looks like, but ok.
15
They only periodically emerge to condemn Israel.
15
@Gerrard_Pike2008 A ship built for war. what do you think it was built for Manu? Maybe this was one of your legendary CIA bases.
15
@fingerprint8479 Yeah, the US took Afghanistan in a few hundred hours and then occupied them for twenty years while the Taliban hid in caves.
15
@loumcast Yep, the percentage of Russian occupied territory in Ukraine has surged from 18% all the way to 18% in only two years.
15
@Jimmy-ye3wg Where do you get this stuff? Ukrainian food exports are at pre war levels, Agriculture accounts for 63% of export revenue.
14
@pauldean8638 No its according to the maps. At its high water mark Russia controlled over 30% of Ukrainian territory, now they control around 15%.
14
@ByronYanez-l7r Is the cia in the room with you rght now?
14
@loumcast This year Russia has taken less than one half of one percent of Ukraine. Come back to reality bud.
14
@julianf9235 Prior to Russia's invasion in 2014 only around 10% of Ukrainians wanted to join NATO, the government was unwilling and unable to go through the necessary reforms and several countries in the alliance were opposed to the idea. Ukraine's chances of joining was effectively zero. Ukraine was invaded despite its neutrality. They are also a sovereign state that can join any organization the want, something Putin himself has said multiple times before when it suited him. Russia violated the Budapest memorandum in 2013 when Yanukovich tried to sign the EU association agreement and Russia enacted a trade embargo on Ukraine and sanctioned them.
14
@JohnCSmith-lp1qr Let me know when Russia manages to take the Donbas, they've only been trying for 9 years now.
13
@JohnCSmith-lp1qr Russia lost so hard in Afghanistan their whole country collapsed. The US occupied Afghanistan for 20 years while the Taliban hid in caves in Pakistan. It was the Afghan government that lost to the Taliban. Russia was never able to get to the occupation stage though, much like they arent in Ukraine. Russia wishes their invasion went 10% as well as the US Afghan invasion. As I said above there were two Chechen wars. Russia was humiliated in the first one and were getting humiliated in the second one until Kadyrov turned coat. Now Russia gets to pay Billions (in USD not Rubles) every year in subsidies (bribes) to keep the Chechens onside. Moscow bribes account for 80-82 percent of Chechnya's annual budget, what a deal.
13
@loumcast lol, no it isn't.
12
@transongoanhuynh2490 Speaking of English, you should try learning it before posting.
12
@TheDrAstrov Ukraine hadn't joined any military blocs. Less than 10% of Ukrainians wanted to join NATO prior to 2014, NATO countries also were opposed to Ukraine joining. Moreover even if this weren't true there is nothing about Ukraine neutrality in the Budapest memorandum, Ukraine had no obligations regarding the Budapest memorandum. It was Russia that broke it.
11
@serzh1950 Ukraine is hooked up to the EU grid.
11
@richardsanders4624 In the past two years the percentage of Russian controlled territory has surged from 18% all the way to 18%.
11
@fingerprint8479 The US wasn't expelled, they left. There hadn't been an attack on coalition forces in years. You appear to have a tenuous grasp of history.
11
@randombutrelevant Three years and Russia can't even take the Donbas despite horrific losses.
11
@atticusfredericks6210 Ukraine helped in Afghanistan and Iraq.
11
The calculations that came to you in a fever dream?
