NYC is the most populous city, and is a hotbed for criminals, corrupt politicians and everything else. We can study 1920’s New York and see it was corrupt much like we can see New York today. Go south and start a small business in the Carolinas or Texas. People there tend to be more laid back and conservative, relying on tried and true values to live quiet lives. The progressives in NYC are all part of the system. Corrupt, evil, and paid to lie.

YouTube drama is profitable. All of these massive YouTubers sold out long ago. Most of us are just scraping by with retail jobs, office jobs and other dead end jobs just to pay for our rent.
1
Everything was better 20 years ago.
1
@TallulahSoie I had to talk to somebody in India about a pay by card when I worked at Dollar Tree. It’s not just customers, they also abuse their actual workers.
1
Sounds like Cable TV in the 2000’s.
1
I did the same. I spent the last of my Amazon money on Christmas. Since they decided to block anybody from buying gift cards with Amazon money I have had to find a legitimate reason to even bother with them.
1
You will own nothing and be happy.
1
Look who is running California. It’s a one party state where one side holds absolute power. It alone has enough gross domestic product to be in the top 15 countries in the world.
1
I even use eBay for physical media purchases.
1
I stopped using them after they sold fake electronics to me and stopped giving me the option to buy gift cards with Amazon money.
1
This is why I don’t trust big YouTubers in general because you have to practically sell out to the system. I heard of this Marcus guy, but everything I’ve seen from him seems off. This guy is a sellout. Nearly 10 times the number of subscribers that Louis has. Must feel great being a part of that 1% demographic while the vast majority of us are just trying to make a honest living, as costs continue to rise.

@OgdenM Any fitness center that requires me to do stuff on a smartphone, force me to pay by card, and agree to a bunch of pointless terms & conditions is not a good option. Just build your own home gym.
1
@hdslave Disney was faltering before that. Frozen was a major success. Before that, it was the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and Wall E. It’s been a decade since Disney made anything good.
1
Between a rock and a hard place.
1
Different generation then. All of the older guys who worked at MS left. It’s dominated now by leftist types that want control.
1
Trump enabled them.
1
100% truth.
1
@ArtwithKrissy Important book, and one many people need to read.
1
It’s Disney World, not Disneyland. And the parks were always expensive, because the brand name alone meant they can charge higher prices.
1
Nothing lasts forever.
1
Because Conservatives/Republicans actually care about their people, not Democrats who want to turn our nation into a socialist one.
1
When Rudy was Mayor, NYC looked far more appealing.

@ Ridiculous

The only digital media you actually own is thru piracy.
1
You don’t own anything digital.
1
@ If you have a physical book you read it as many times as you want. With an eBook, a corporation or organization has the right to take it away from you. Corporations cannot physically alter physical books, DVDs, games, etc. The big problem is the garbage they put on these DVDs and games, so they're not as safe as people think. There is also a timer on a lot of DVDs, so eventually, you won't be able to play them. If I have a Steam account I run the risk of having all my digital games taken away because I got banned from the platform or whatever. Not only do I lose my access permanently, I also have to repurchase the same games if I want to play them again. PC gamers have no other choice except either to do that or sail the high seas. Someone also notified me that a scene that I uploaded from the film Anger Management has an altered line when you watch it on Amazon Prime. Which again, points to physical DVDs being the proper choice if you don't want something to be altered. As long as they don't hit that timer.

Obviously he was getting gouged for money in NYC. That and the societal pressures made him leave for greener pastures.
1
@Saved-by-Grace Corporatism disguised as capitalism.
1
@Drcats69 Avoid Portland. It’s a cesspool of homeless, crazy addicts, and corrupt city officials.
1
Your grandparents were probably part of the WW2 generation. Shame that generation of people are all gone.
1
They were already forcing people to install updates on Windows 10 as early as 2015. This isn’t new at all, because this company is just marching down the path they laid out years ago.
1
@Dhalin That’s because America and other western countries back then were actually free market capitalist, not corporatist as they are today. Apple (before Steve took over in the 2000’s) was a fledgling company who was losing out to Microsoft. Their computers were okay. Then when Jobs took over they began selling iMacs that were fair to good in quality. Now everything they make is trash, with a price tag that’s too much. It’s the same with cars, especially Mercedes Benz, who makes terrible electronics and there are touchscreens replacing what was a mechanical dashboard.
1
Vanity projects that nobody wanted to watch because they contained unlikable characters, bad plots, poor writing and terrible casting.
1
Literal leftists run it now. Can’t believe people are surprised at this.
1
Not that easy. Look up Blackrock and what they’ve done to the housing market.
1
@RandomHost The USA lost its way long ago. It started going downhill since after JFK. Yes, the man who was assassinated in 1963.
1
When did they happen, exactly?
1
Funny how NYC was so much better in the late 90’s. Not only was the cost of living much cheaper, but you didn’t have as many homeless. Why? Because more people back then could gain jobs and careers, as well as a social network of contacts. Homeless are treated with as much hostility as the shrinking middle class. The rich are all that NYC and most of the country care about.
1
I have a big DVD collection as well as PS2, GameCube and Xbox games.
1
Look at what they're doing to cars.
1
@vincei4252 That’s unfortunate. Hopefully gentrification isn’t happening in your area.
1
@estusflask982 There is a difference between someone like Louis, and this guy who tried to sell a subscription off of a phone app on wallpapers. The latter is completely bought off. People also need to understand that they have several deals that go beyond the scope of YouTube. This guy isn’t hurting for money at all. He’s rich, and he’s just the kind of person that Apple wants. If Louis isn’t blacklisted by Apple, he makes drastically less money for being raw and honest. That’s how it goes on YT. Most of the people I’m subbed to are those who aren’t afraid to be themselves. The guy who made the wallpaper app sold out, and it’s obvious.

I have a couple hundred DVDs and even Amazon has managed to send me broken DVDs where the case was broken or the disc was scratched. They treat their packages worse than UPS.
1
Not to mention being high.
1
Which equals products being fake and not being property tested. Turns out that testing costs time and money. I’ve had electrical clamps, video game controllers, components, tool kits, hardware and so on all being advertised as new from Amazon. I bought them and not only were they fake and cheaply made, they were also used.
1
@mikeg3439 I used to think it was old Hollywood sitcoms like Sanford & Son. But I found some vintage footage of actual 60’s - 70’s LA. It really looked like a better place.
1
@jakedewald This has been going on for decades. The reason it didn’t seem that way back in the 80s and 90s, was because we had a better quality of life. Look up charts of billionaires today in 2024 and compare them to the ones in 1994. Also compare our $35+ trillion of debt today compared to $4 - 6 trillion of debt in 1994. Even when adjusted for inflation, it’s not even close. Something has to give. New York, LA, Chicago will all collapse at some point.
1
I have most of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s old movies on DVD. Got Bruce Lee’s classic films on it too. The complete series of OG Star Trek. Streaming services actually made the pictures worse when I tried to stream my favorite stuff.
1
I do the same. I stumbled across some Three Stooges films on DVD, the DVDs that actually list the years in which the shorts were released. Bought them for very cheap, and despite not being modern 4K nor Blu-Ray, they still managed to look good on my 4K TV.
1
I bought the original Japanese version of Demon’s Souls on the PS3. Played it and had a blast. Very cheap too.
