My response to this sorta ‘you shouldn’t mock it because it’s effective’ position is simply thus: We don’t mock it because it doesn’t or couldn’t work, we mock it because for the self stylized second best military in the world…they can’t even have decent equipment provision for what they, at least outwardly, don’t even call a war (tho ofc it is)

Unfortunately for China I don’t think the PLAN can handle such a defense currently without being able to break the island chains, a naval blockade could still be conducted from at worst the second island chain in conjunction with Japan, of course this requires Japan but I don’t think that’s an issue

Even though Napoleon turned his brain off and just walked in a straight line to Moscow, assuming the Russians would capitulate Land wars have been fought in Russia and have ended in Russian defeat, were it not for allied assistance the soviets would’ve fallen, there’s no arguing that the aid weapons bullets vehicles provided by the Americans and the intelligence provided by the british were not necessary to the Soviet’s survival

  44. Liam8015 the Finnish front during the eastern front was very static, until Finland declared war on the Germans after signing armistice with the Soviets, even then they weren’t followed into northern Norway But that’s hindsight I guess
