@Stefan556 It can be. It's only cheaper because market forces made it cheaper. International price is cheap but the Greens don't increase the supply domestically. So maintenance and storage cells drive the cost higher in Germany relative to other countries. Even the US.
2
You seem like a well-research and objective man.
2
@fightforaglobalfirstamendm5617 Aw. This is cute.
2
Yeah. It's a shame, too. Considering how Germany is one of the only countries on Earth that has ever paid reparations in a significant way.
2
Not at all. Bakhmut is its own case study. A case study of mass casualties over symbols.
2
He just started talking shit about Putin now. Give it time. He might not even makes it til the end of this month. Although, sadly, there are no more tall windows in Bakhmut. Putin will probably wait until Wagner retreats in shame. BTW, for Putin, the last straw was probably the armchair polling that Prigozhin did. We all know how he treats his political enemies that could take his power away from him.
2
@gameofender4463 Both are pro American, CDU is more pro-Ukraine tho.
2
Wagner V. Russia MOD! Prigozhin is sweating. Shoigu has solid grounds to do that, too. PMC can't just go around kidnapping the state soldiers that they're working with. Plus that kidnapped Colonel (LTC Roman Venevitin) is already talking about being tortured by Wagner & how he had witnessed Wagner's systemic theft, severe torture, and rape. They even used the Lt. Colonel as a bargaining chip to extort even more ammunition for their losing fight.
2
@Kretek Grain, or any agricultural product, that is treated by pesticides isn't "lower quality". Regardless of the economic ramifications, you are only biasedly talking about Ukrainian grain w/o the facts.
2
"SaNcTiOnS dOn'T wOrK", they said.
2
TLDR is making catchy conclusions for the views.
2
Source?
2
It would spread out political power nicely towards each corner of Europe, as well.
2
On paper, it looks like a great law and I think the opp is overreacting suspiciously. But it's a powerful move that could easily be abused. There just isn't enough trust in Poland's Democracy to pull it off. Yet, I do think it is necessary tho... I hope it will work out
2
As someone that like democracy, I am sorry.
2
@thulyblu5486 I love your sarcasm.
2
@DrumToTheBassWoop The West has seized %58 of their pre-sanctions war chest ($341 Billion USD). So let's convince Washington & Brussels to turn that into a reparations chest. (Although, I doubt that alone will be enough. A 21st-century Marshall Plan will still be needed. Realistic estimates for reconstruction range from ~$600 Billion USD to over $1 TRILLION USD in total costs.)
2
Yeah. Now the Baltic is a NATO lake and Kalilagrad is an island in the middle of powerful NATO member states.
2
I kinda feel like the EU Commission should have had a better handle on this issue before the lid blew. It seems like such an obvious cause-and-effect for orthodox economists.
2
@hkchan1339 Only sense it makes is by making the French Military Industrial Complex richer. (They hold huge influence over European defense). This of course does not have Europe's interest at heart. Also, US is just better at fighting wars and making/exporting weapons than France.
2
I like how this was objective. I like how TDLR stayed critical of both the US's claims on the subject and the claims of Seymour Hersh. That is the essence of journalism.
2
NO. Far-Right Republicans made it look that way. The Democratic Party is a right-wing party, it's just that the GOP is even further right than they are.
2
@TheVaryox Thank argument is incredibly weak. Plus, using fighter jets, for example, making more French Rafaeles is much more expensive than importing American F-35s. And the F-35 is the most powerful and technologically advanced on the planet.
2
@6789uiop You know this is just a joke. This is Russians fighting Russians that have nothing to do with Ukraine. Their Anti-Putin, not Pro-Ukrainian.
2
I would be interested in that. Curious about sunflower seeds, too.
2
Seriously. Doubt is a powerful human trait, but when are we gonna actually trust the UA. During these last 13 months, they have more than proved that they earned it. This applies to civilian analysts, armchair generals, and especially the major powers like NATO states/allies whose doubt mainly holds back further Ukrainian battlefield victories. (IE: Those tanks should have been rolled out a long time ago.)
2
What's sad is that 90% of the Hungarians in this comment section just want better for Hungary and are sick of their government's pursuit of autocracy.
2
See TLDR. This is my point. You are helping Russian bots like Kon Kirsch get their propaganda out by making mistakes like this.
2
It'll take a lot of time to heal the divisions. At least, you guys are making more progress on integration than South Africa.
2
It's just an opportunity for other allies to reach for the moral high ground when it comes to political optics... which also undermines alliances.
2
Right-wing ruling parties that actually know how to govern publically say they hate immigrants and "illegals" to the electorate and the international community. But secretly, they work hard to fix their nation's demographic crisis by discreetly attracting immigrants with disguised policies and misrepresented reforms. This only applies to those that actually know how to govern tho. That's not too common, sadly.
2
Finland and Sweden didn't say anything at all about Hungary (but instead Turkey), and now Orban and his posse are stoking false consciousness. Orban makes Erdogan look like a sensible lad. Honestly, I prefer Erdogan's political motivations instead of Orban's naked greed and lies. (But I will admit, Hungary only got bold after seeing Turkey's tactics pay dividends.)
2
I hope Hollywood and other major film industries portray it well.
2
Ie: how they safeguard and practically campaign for the French military-industrial complex.
2
@hiya2793 STFU. I'm not listening to anyone that thinks genocide is the "restrained & right option here".🤡
2
Granted Appeal on a $3 billion debt trap; IMF about to give a 15.6 Billion dollar loan; ICC issues a warrant for Putin's arrest. It has been a terrible day for the Kremlin & an excellent day for Ukraini.
2
@sasakithesolemnone8108 My counter: Democracy is the greatest form of governance. Period. BUT, democracy is meaningless without trust. In America, faith and confidence in our democratic systems led to politicians & populists exploiting that mistrust. In fact, trust is key in any form of governance. I urge you not to lose faith in the people but to encourage stronger bonds of trust between institutions and between the masses.
2
Fortunately, Poland is even that much of a maverick. Everyone in Europe is opposed to Russia's aggression.... everyone except Hungary. Austria is more nuanced.**
2
@diogorodrigues747 Oh. But, still. It is shocking.
2
Imperialistic Zionism. That's why. Most victims of the Holocausts did not arrive until after the 1948 war. Jewish zionists saw what was happening in Europe and said "we can do that too". Inspired by the Holocaust, they committed the Nakba. Israel was literally built on fascist doctrine of "blood and soil". Besides, the first zionists came to Palestine (in bulk) in the 1920s. Before the rise of Nazism.
2
On one hand, security guarantees are what have secured the ends of wars in the past. Very few wars end in one or more sides complete military defeat. Also, Putin is desperate for a win. One argument goes, "just give this old man a point so he can stop killing Ukrainians". On the other hand, the hand that I am more partial too, practicality does not erase the real pain Russia has caused in 2022. Not just for Ukrainian, not just for the average Russian, but for everyone in the world. This Russian act of imperialism can never truly be walked back and any concession given to try to do so will just justify the entire invasion for Putin. So yeah,... fuck the Kremlin.

@cFull_Rtrd I didn't forget Mariupol. I just have a "bad feeling" about Kherson. But of course, nothing is set in stone yet.
1
@TheMovieClipGuy69 That is what is worrying me. Literally, anything.
1
@duhhtor Kherson isn't like any other city or town.
1
@Alexei Smirnoff Even if they do, the Russians can still shell Kherson into oblivion -- making it unusable unless the UA wanted to fight in a barrage of ballistics.
1
@NotUnymous Dude. The Fall of Aleppo only just happen in 2015.
1
@SimonNZ6969 Perhaps
1
@Dennis_The_Peasant I agree. I would say many militaries learned from America's failures in Vietnam. Including America, itself.
1
@attilamarics4808 Plus Ukraine is running against the clock until the fall mud becomes really impassible.
