Although one thing left out is the logistical reality that oil and natural gas are limited non-renewable resources. Therefore, sometime in this century, the Sauds won't have enough natural resources to export or use -- meaning no more unlimited wealth and no more unlimited energy supply.

The second-place base is at Sevastopol, but it doesn't have unfettered access due to the Montreux Convention.
