Civilian service is such an amazing concept to have.

Looks like our era has to deal with Cold War existential anxiety, too.
6
LOL. True (both Norway & Canada, too). But there is some truth to this. In fact, right now the World Cup is being hosted by Qatar, and the labor conditions, human rights abuses, and treatment of migrants are.... appalling to say the least. But nations of Europe who are deeply craving energy from non-Russia alternatives are looking the other way because they don't want to get on Qatar's side. It's slightly more complicated than this oversimplification, but that is the TLDR of it.

@Bluefox1978 Slava Ukraini and thank god for Norway.
6
@codyaragon93 Great point. Nixon initiated the War on Drugs, and Reagan expanded it; but for 30 years, Anslinger was the war executioner before Nixon even ran office against Kennedy.
6
@BigFoe This video is about a historical event that happened more than 5 decades ago. This isn't new information.
6
@YiorgosT Cyprus Uncharted was a great mini docu-series. And I like how Johnny is much more unconstrained and independent, giving his borders videos more directional freedom.
6
@ellishaindobo1794 Alaska is literally an Artic Peninsula.
6
Literally no one cares.

Thank you for making this powerful video on this under-addressed history. Many people shy away from modern Balkan conflicts and modern conflicts in general fearing not upset the algorithm. But addressing human rights abuses and complex, nuanced, brutal wars (that just happened within the last 30 years) is incredibly important for anyone concerned with peace and universal rights. Also, I would very much appreciate a second part to this video on the Kosovo War & the subsequent NATO Intervention. It was a conflict just as brutal as the other Balkan Wars stemming directly from the collapse of Yugoslavia & The War in Bosnia. Plus, it highlights how the international community's, or at least NATO's, attitude changed throughout the 90s because of the Balkan Wars.
6
unsarcastically, yes.
6
Well said. You said how most of us feel.

I have a deficiency of Vitamin D and my family has a few vitamin/mineral deficiencies, too. I also am a huge fan of CBD. I've also occupationally used melatonin on some sleepless nights before early mornings. So, I am glad y'all made this video. It sucks that this is how the system works.
5
He lied through his teeth knowing damn well we knew what the answer was.
5
Back when the British Armed Forces were capable and creative. At least, it's reassuring to know that spirit lives on in Ukraine.
5
this is a hilarious metaphor
5
It was very chilling.
5
"Danish colonial bit"? Do you mean reporting history accurately? Do yourself a favor and actually interact with some of the people north of Nuuk. People that actually value their Greenlandic roots. Amongst minority groups, we have a term for your line of thinking. It's called being whitewashed.
5
The day my reality shattered forever was the day I found out that "fake milk" (like Oat & Almond) is actually more nutritious than good old-fashion whole milk.
5
Hoover and Dulles are some of the worst Americans to have ever lived. They're right up there with Kissinger.
5
For real. It was great "joining" him as he traveled the globe.
5
There are two answers. One is the QUAD and Indo-Pacific Frameworks are very important in countering China. Two is the fact that Pakistan harbored terrorists like Osama and that their former leader is still blaming the CIA for his incompetence and unpopularity.
5
RFK, too.
5
More like an oligarchy with Congress, as a collective, being the most powerful player, then the elected and appointed officials, then the rich and powerful private corporations, interest groups, & lobbies.
5
It's crazy how close it was for that to happen.

Johnny is back to the basics!!! Vox Borders throwback. Love to see it and hope to see more border analyses.
4
Always a pleasure to see a Cleo Abram & Johnny Harris collaboration. I enjoyed the last one on lithium deposits in Africa.
4
@lunchtime2960 2011? Your propaganda can't even get the year right🤡
4
@richardgoed8101 The US kept its part of the Budapest Memorandum. Russia is the one that invaded Ukraine since 2014 and meddled in its politics since the 90s.
4
Yeah. I got upset because I thought Johnny was using Russian Propaganda to say "America/NATO, bad".
4
And most of the arable land was also given by the UN to Israel. It was horrible "solution" by the UN.
4
A lot of US allies in the region do.
4
Highschools in America when it comes to US History: "Slavery and racism were bad, but all that ended forever when gave the I Have A Dream speech."
4
He talks about more issues without curriculum red tape. It's being an independent journalist that's allowing that.
4
@phillip7731 Turkey and moderation is an oxymoron.
4
Then there are countries like Turkey in NATO. It's a real clusterfuck all around.
4
Here we go...
4
Respect to the Zulu warriors at Isandlwana. S/O to the Tigrayan General Ras Alula Aba Nega and the Tigrayan warrior that fought with him at the Battle of Adwa and more. Emperor Menilik II wasn't even near the battlefield and took all the credit. Same to my Somali brothers, their forefathers also fought the Italian colonizers down southwest.
4
Fortunate Son plays loudly
4
@kevincronk7981 Yeah. Most of the drones came from the Middle East (especially UAE, Turkey & Israel). Some came from China & Russia. But there was no weaponization of commercial drones.
4
@Patricia-b Where is YOUR source? Because Johnny showed his.
4
I like this series.
4
@pliktl You're speaking as if every media outlet is credible and uninfluenced. Which isn't true. Independent Journalism is hard work with no lifeline to cover stories that state-run and private-interest media houses wouldn't or just couldn't. I mean, for example, in this video Johnny couldn't even get a sponsor for being "political" (he's literally a journalist smh) but still released the video anyway.

@mikotagayuna8494 There are Congresspersons, Supreme Court Justices, Presidents/Governors, Cabinet Secretaries, and so on -- who are NOT wealthy also have tremendous amounts of power over domestic & foreign policy. In America, you don't have to be rich to rule the country/world, it helps, but power is all that is needed. Money isn't the only form of power.
4
well talk about a deterence
3
@spendleton360 I think you need to dream a little. Plus this crisis is affecting ALL industries. The only exception is the medical industry for obvious reasons.
3
@bebrown2354 You point is wack. That means you went to college for no reason, and your reaction was to just "shrug it off".
3
@rodschmidt8952 As hilariously crazy as that sounds, that idea actually might hold some water milk.
3
That's how you know he is being objective. After a year of brutal war after 70 years of conflict, everyone just wants to have their emotions validated.
3
@dawsonleding7051 Our foreign policy stance when it comes to Ukraine is truly unprecedented. And it should be protected. Historically-speaking, we have never prioritized democracy and sovereignty over realpolitik like this. I hope this becomes a positive trend that replaces our historical political-war machine.
