The "one wage earner per family era of prosperity" was a brief moment in American History that was made possible because Europe's factories had been destroyed during WWII. Before that, everybody worked, unless they were members of the elite.

@jogennotsuki She's an awful person! She started her financial career as a fence for the Narcos Satanicos Pendejos de Coahuila back in the 2000's!

Rents would be higher if they didn't allow slumlords. Property values and property taxes go up every year. If mom and pop landlords can't raise rent to make up for it, they have to sell. This reduces the apartment supply and makes prices go up even more. Competition from vanlife and human doghouses ( AKA tiny homes) will force rent prices down. Either that, or the government will have to look the other way and allow coffin/ cage apartments like in Hong Kong.

@SenkaZverThere's very, very little "stagnant money". Banks get paid by loaning out what you deposit. Someone who sold you that stock or bond is using your money to earn profit. If you want wealth, don't keep 'mattress money' that loses buying power to inflation!
1
@Crusadxr Get ANY job. Work hard so that you're not the one laid off when business slows down and spend less than what you make!
1
@SenkaZverGamestop was mass manipulation by outsiders.
1
@amzarnacht6710 That's being melodramatic. Yes, loopholes exist, but we have a progressive tax system where the poor may actually MAKE money on their tax return due to credits and the lowest bracket pays 0% on Cap Gains.
1
@Thinginator How would that work? How would advertising for jobs that didn't exist allow workers to be paid less?
1
Projects are not " new, from Finland!" They're an OLD idea that already failed! What happens when you stick CRIMINALS, CRAZIES and JUNKIES next to the working poor? Let's try it again! Last time, the kids of single mothers formed gangs, but maybe it'll be different this time?

"RELATABLE" SETUP POST=TRIPLE NAME ADVISOR SCAM SPAM!!

@katieblasingame4664 FALSE! You just set up an IRA at your bank, credit union or investment firm . Pick a low cost Stock index fund and and a low cost bond index fund. Do the same with your 401k at your employer. Set up automatic contributions. DONE!
1
@princetonscholar5723 Depending on Social Security alone is risky because of the ratio of young workers compared to retirees and disabled. Taking risk in another area such as stocks and bonds or real estate actually REDUCES the overall risk. It's called hedging your bets!
1
@bria2596 Advisor scams usually kick off with relatable life situations or wisdom quotes designed to get a lot of thumbs up from people not paying attention! That gives them "social proof" that makes them look legit!
1
@princetonscholar5723 LIFE is risk based. Do nothing with your money and you risk losing buying power to inflation. If you don't have time to research stocks then just "buy the market " through an index fund in a 401k or IRA (which drops your taxes).
1
@katieblasingame4664 Don't you understand the basics of buy low and sell high? When the whole market drops because of some external force, that means the STOCKS ARE ON SALE! Those factories, warehouses etc. still exist and are still worth something. If you're dollar cost averaging (same amount every month) you make money when those undervalued stocks regain their value. That's where indexing comes in. ONE business can be mismanaged and fail, but it's unlikely that the whole market will. The customers lost by one failed business go to another business.
1
@katieblasingame4664 What's your better plan, then? A Ponzi scheme where current workers pay retirees needs an ever-expanding population to work.
1
@princetonscholar5723 A Ponzi scheme where current workers pay retirees needs an ever-expanding population to work. That's not guaranteed, so best to hedge your bets!

@123lowp You can buy regular non-ETF index funds from Fidelity and Vanguard, too. Once you have over a certain amount in a fund, Vanguard lowers their expense ratio for your shares of the fund.

"Do they add value to our lives"? YEAH!! The Cap1 Wal Mart card gives me 5% cash back on all pickups and deliveries. I have it set up to pay monthly, but I usually pay it immediately after the goods arrive. You have to be VERY CAREFUL with the 3rd party sellers on WalMart's web site, though!! Sometimes the wrong goods arrive or they don't arrive at all.

@MrChristianDT Surrogate motherhood SHOULD be banned. It"s pr0stitution and exploitation.
1
@IhaytFukkingsocialmedia Those babies that were saved will grow up to work and fund your Social Security. Social support programs will fail unless there are more people paying in than receiving handouts.
1
@ragemonster4277 It's the other way around. The ex- party animals that got pregnant or got the GF pregnant drop out and then they work. They resent someone that's working to save for school, and employers prefer them because they're desperate and available 24/7, unlike the student worker.
1
@IhaytFukkingsocialmedia A kid that was aborted is never going to grow up and work and pay taxes. Not enough tax revenue means things like Social Security, Medicare/ Medicaid/ Obamacare get cut. Even China has changed its tune and now wants all females to have 3 kids.

Wages are only one of a company's expenses. Many other factors affect pricing.
1
@bradchristy8429 Companies know to start increasing prices BEFORE mandated wage increases go into effect. So there's not a direct jump in prices right after every salary increase. There would have to be a decrease in the cost of either raw materials or shipping in order for the cost of a wage increase to not get passed to the consumer.

@Surrealitivity No way. She needs a real job.

@standdownrobots_ihaveoldglory HELL NO! Didn't you watch the vid! You think their problem is they're bored cause it's not " interesting"? 😂

@marcushill7070 There was a very nice cashier at one CVS I used. She had a big book of coupons she had clipped herself and would give them to you! Years ago they had lots of free after rebate things for back to school you could buy and then donate.
1
@ibrahimkayikci2146 Yeah, they should put an NP there if they want someone writing scrips in house!

@drewj4297 Population is still growing. just at a slower rate than in the past. USA population also grows due to immigration. Mechanization is real. The latest round has been the replacement of storyboard and background artists and writers with AI. Telecommunications have also improved, allowing businesses to outsource clerical work.
1
@drewj4297 There are different classes of immigrants. The "brain drain" (medical staff, engineers) ARE able to buy houses pretty quickly because they're paid well and used to a frugal 2nd or 3rd world lifestyle. The underclass pack into substandard housing to save money.
1
@IanJohnson-t4r Well, which do you want? Do you want them to phase out the pensions and keep going or what? They'll pretty much have to if the government quits bailing. If they ceased to exist Fed Ex would cost more because they'd have to assume the cost of the unprofitable routes, plus, they'd be a monopoly.
1
@MyToxicMasculinity I don't like the "I don't dream of labor" artiste crowd (that aspire to be kept as pets by the government while pursuing their hobbies), either, but it's NOT EVERYBODY! This situation concerns WORKERS. There needs to be some sort of safety net (not a hammock) to prevent people from falling through the cracks.
1
@IanJohnson-t4r Censorbots are the worst! I heard there are actually broke Kenyans making $2 an hour to train them! Trollies are a part of the ecosystem and should regularly be fed tasty knuckle sandwiches!

1
@MyToxicMasculinity On some level we'd ALL prefer that hammock, right? To get paid to do what we love, only when we feel like doing it? These are not the guys in the hammocks, though. These are the guys driving little open trucks around in all kinds of crappy weather dealing with crazies. And there's not enough $ for their pensions, when that's why they signed up for the chore!

@MyToxicMasculinity Wow! Your vehicle was LARGER, therefore you win the thingie measuring contest!👍😂🤣 (Meanwhile the mailmen probably think you're a wuss because your cab was heated/air conditioned! ) Your company PAID you to drive, right? If they promised you X amount of pay and however much bonus or raise and then they changed it, you wouldn't be happy. You'd be like the mailmen.

Pres. GW Bush thought home ownership would reduce crime. Govt. agencies FMAC and GNMA giving out loans to people with poor credit is part of what led to the crash of 08.
1
@trixiemcfly8584 Yeah. but it's probably packages and routes that wouldn't be cost effective for Amazon to do themselves! So, taxpayers are bailing out USPS and USPS is helping out Amazon!
1
@KirksCORNER1983 Are you nuts? Do you want Fed Ex to have a monopoly and charge whatever? Plus, Fed Ex is privately owned, so if they don't feel like driving 20 miles down a dirt road to bring grandma her eye drops, they don't have to.
