  6. Yup, when I put Eibach sways on my golf r, it comes with little packets of silicone lube, for the polyurethane bushings, which are more solid than the stock rubber ones on the stock sway bars, I think you are right, the right lube matters

  8. I took dash off on a 98 vw passat...slick..the replace heater core popped a leak after to 24 years,got it in dash and all...slick how stuff fits wiring harnesses just right snap in place. Everything worked when back together..learning experience

  22.  @JM-lk6wo  Jersey used to check all kinds of stuff, now it's just emissions. They used to look at wipers, life car front end up a tad, and by hand pull on front wheels to find this kind of stuff,headlight alignment,brake stopping on a device that measured the stopping ,all taillights, look under neath to check for exhaust mods, it took some time. No charge, state run part of registration fees. Now state is just doing emissions..hook up scan tool, read the number and stick a sensor into the exhaust. if they catch a cracked windshield the flag it. We have a lot of junkers on the roads that shouldn't be. Go to Germany for a week drive around, come back here, and see how bad this place is..we are 2nd world and falling fast.

  23. In Jersey it's illegal to only use a plug, plugs are rated as TEMPORARY....must be patched from inside...and in nail or something is in sidewall, no patch, also a violation, they can get in big trouble, if they repair sidewall and something happens....it ain't worth it, replace the tire

  24. It's an EPA VIOLATION to not check and REPAIR leaks on AC systems, and there actually is a leak spec, that is allowed, and not allowed ,just recharging is a VIOLATION, EPA rules have become stricter and stricter

Leave the AC ALONE, if it works, don't fix it...I've had VW's 10 years old, with AC never been touched, don't start poking and cause issue when it's working. as dangerous as those quick lube joints that tell you to change transfluid when mfgs have specs that say otherwise....my Vw dealer says they get lots of stuff to fix, after those quick lube places do "maintenance". Don't touch stuff that works, if mfg. doesn't say to do it..

  29. Replace blue with blue it does matter, Honda like VW now has not pink but Violet G13 as opposed to G12 G11 and back and back. They are different mixtures, it does matter Pentosin ++ is G13 G12 compatible. so many blends, just like motor oil, all things are not equal

  33. Cars from the 60s 70s are ,and where junk compared to modern efficient, safer much better performance,vehicles. 60s with high maintenance,parts didn't last. Stuff today is much better

  34. Eat Penn Mfg. Deka batterys, is a major OEM supplier even to Benz in alabama, HD motorcycle batterys are Deka, Deka makes great stuff, have used them even in my honda generators, and bike

Driveway suspension designers, then this junk is on the road, scary. the entire camber, caster is now all off, suspension, steering, is actually done factory for a reason, but a driveway nudnick knows better, here just raise this, shove some stuff in, i am an injuneer.

  38.  @rjb6327  yup, that's even before 1965 imperial...back in 1965 to see the radio dial move from the remote switch was high tech!! ahahahahahahahaha. some even had auto dimming hi low beam with a sensor mounted on the dash...more high tech.

  42.  @desotosky1372  Really no legit tire seller is selling tires more than a few months old...places like Tire rack etc sell millions, they ain't sitting around that long, and it's most likely another CRIME to actually sell one that old, to unsuspecting consumers

  45. I was at a place that made condensers, evaporators and other radiator units, amazing, how they fold the fins and stuff, 1000's a day, and QC checked...slick engineering, if not for mass assembly lines, the stuff would be so pricey, to not be practical

After over 1.5 million miles of driving well over 30 cars, GM, chryslers, VWs I have never ever had an oil related engine issue by following the mfgs book specs. Do you think they know what they made better than people who just make up stuff? Modern cars easy do 10K between changes on my last few VW's and current 2019 Golf R with 87K fun fantastic reliable , never a burp miles. Changing oil unnecessarily is a waste of resources, money, and creates more waste..it adds up. One of my VW's went to 316,000 fun miles, got bored with it, changed oil at that time non syn, as per mfg spec of 7500 no issues, never even changed cam chain or guides 316,000 never stranded miles. stick of course, never touched the trans, ever. they put specs in the manuals for a reason, the last thing vehicles makers want is customers spending un needed maintenance, cus people don't like to spend money if not necessary

  49. How cops drive with all that obstructed vision, but pull people over for junk hanging off the mirror, but cops are special..and all that debris on the dash....and obstructed rear vision....and they use the computers while car in motion. rules for thee, not for me.
