I think a person can be or meet a certain definition of being valid. If a person is fully qualified in their profession or trade then they be considered a valid, heart surgeon, or plumber. And that's as far as I'm willing to go.
1
@orenmontgomery8250 That's another way of expressing it.
1
At first I thought this was about the water in Jackson Mississippi. Where they have passed the buck on their water utility being upgraded for decades. Tun by the Democrats of course.
1
@jrgen7261 I agree with banning smoking in public places. Restaurants, pubs etc. Banning the practice is something else.
1
The Left do not give a rats backside for the working stiff. The Left sees the need for immigration because they can justify it by saying we need the immigrants to do the jobs that Britians, or Americans, or Australians, or Canadians won't do. When what they are really saying is they would never do those jobs and they know no one in their Upper Middle Class Uni educated bubble who would do those jobs.

The border between Hatia and the Dominican Republic is on of the very few easily seen ftom orbit.

Being part Irish I want cash from King Chuck and the Danes. Oh wait, half Danish. Never mind.
1
Why indeed. The British government and elites may have committed sins in the past but that does not mean that Brits today should pay the price.
1
@FablesTold Every elected federal official takes an oath the defend and protect the Constitution. And they all subvert it.

Or a Jahovah's Witness.

The Queen has decided to live just long enough that Charles precedes her in death.

These companies are probably swimming in so much cash the accountants are telling them. You better hire a bunch of drones otherwise Uncle Sugar gonna screw us on taxes. These are the people who should have their "jobs" outsourced to freaking India.

Tax policy is how you reward your friends and punish your enemies. And those 87k new IRS employees are the enforcement agents. And 5 bucks says they will all be diversity hires.

I personally would not care if a person of African, Asian, Austronesisn or any other ethnicity plays a character in a play by Shakespeare, a Broadway musical*, a film adaptation of a work of fiction etc that one would originally perceive the character as European. As long as nobody intentionally thrusts any political message into the production. And no one else should complain when a person of non Asian descent plays a role in a story taking place in an Asian setting. It's the story that matters. Except for one provisio. And that is when the production is attempting to be an accurate historical representation of actual events. *The Japanese language version of Les Miserables comes to mind.

@travtotheworld There is that. The single biggest problem in the world today is population growth in all the wrong places. Regions that are facing poor economic prospects, water shortages, unstable or autocratic regimes and other problems. The only real thing that seems to slow or stop population growth beyond major wars, plagues or famines is wealth. Wealth can lead to lower birth rates. But once birth rates fall beyond a certain point combined with rising life expectancy demographic problems raise their ugly head in terms of aging populations.

Treated on both ends. Maybe 25 years ago there was an experimental program in the US that used a very strong UV light source to break down chemicals in the water. But then that takes power.
1
If it's such a great thing why don't they have it done to themselves

The new government mandate is "thou shalt not have fun". Unless of course it is government mandated fun.

Well, even as an American I just know Kipling and Tennyson are out as far as the UK goes.

How do I justify eating meat? My metabolism is built for it.

Not being familiar with who Captain Tom was I googled his memorial. The first three pages were related to this crappy incident. Nothing about him. While thats sad. What's even sadder is that this will be the high point of this young women's life. If she tries to do this again pour the contents on her.

Like in the old Ten Years After song. Tax the rich feed the poor. There are no rich no more. The problem is the definition of rich will be changed until everyone is poor.

The US is not a democracy. And it never has as been. It's a representative republic. Once you get over a certain size population a full on democracy simply does not work. Sometimes in the interests of the nation a member of Congress or a sitting president has to do things that are opposite of what they expouse. A full on democracy by and large is going to focus on the immediate issue right now and never consider the future IMO.
1
The Democrats want potential voters. The Republicans (handsome Dems) want cheap labor. And people expect a solution.
1
For all the people considering themselves "Pansexual" (1). Do they consider themselves pitchers or catchers. 1) The whole concept just has me thinking of a Zamphir CD playing in the backround
1
The same people that will support the Islamic states fail to understand is they are part of the reason these same states hate the West. (Yoda voice) Weak is the logic with these ones

As some of my ancestors immigrated into Eastern Britain and went on to become the Anglo Saxons l encourage you to tell these pompous "intellecuals" to get stuffed.
1
Having lost a wife to lung cancer l hate cigarettes with a passion. But l also refuse to preach to people to quit smoking. That is one practice that never seems to work.

@RextheRebel That worked so well with Prohibition didn't it.

They just wanted the graph of electricity prices to match the climate change graph

Leftists have to weaponize everything. Because the struggle is eternal

Is this all about the "adults" and not the kids? Damn straight it is. Ten years ago this would have been child abuse. What's next? Public acceptance of pedophilia? And I use the term adults with a certain irony here.
1
I wonder if the "people of African Descent" includes non Bantu peoples from Africa. The pronouns bullshit. He, him, her, they, etc are THIRD PERSON PRONOUNS. Used when talking or writing about someone. If speaking in the first person it either their or name. Or a first person pronoun such as you or yours.

Went to see Where the Crawdads Sing last Friday. Critics on Rotten Tomatoes. 34%👍Audience. 98.5% 👍 The audience was right.

Follow the money. Who benefited. For the most part Western steel plants cannot compete against foreign producers in the low end sheet steel or structural steel markets. On the alloy or tool steel ends of things the economics do get a little bit better. And in the alloy and tool steel business quality really counts. I know that steel plants in the US producing steel from raw materials are still able to operate (1). I'm not sure that they are US owned anymore though. The former US Steel (?) operation in Gary, Indiana is now owned by Mittal. 1) One sure way to tell is the ore boats are still carrying Taconite ore from Northern Minnesota on the Great Lakes.
1
@stevovimy I don't care if they're shaken. Just as long as they don't get to stir the pot.
