  3. I was told by an American, the you can walk around the UK in a day. I did tell him part of the UK isn't part of the mainland, which confused him. I said next time you're here, try walking around Britain in a day. He replied "Oh I've never been there"🙄

  10. I often take a walk down into my village high street in the morning, to buy a fresh loaf. The bakery smells wonderful and the bread still warm. Lovely now the weather is starting to turn a bit chilly.

  11. They definitely think red, white and blue is theirs. I remember watching the Red Arrows doing an air show in America , with the red, white and blue smoke as they're British. The Americans were saying how nice it was of them to fly the American colours 😂😂

  13. ​ @deadmanschest4322 definitely, I grew up in mitcham (aussie cricket fans will know the name). The pub opposite the ground, the cricketers, was my dad's local. He would go there on his own, but in the Sumner the family were allowed😂 My dad would take me into the pub, but my mum and sisters were left in the beer garden. If it rained they were allowed into the "other" bar, not the side the new were in. This was back in the 70s/80s btw. Sadly the pub is no longer, but you can get a drink in the cricket pavilion

  18. Ive seen a few asmr language videos where Americans use the American flag to represent English. When i tell them that's not the English flag, they say Americans speak English 😂 Although one woman did change it. To the Union flag. When i told her that wasn't the English flag either, she called me a socialist haha

  31. My English cousin lives in Florida. His 16 year old stepson has never had a geography lesson, apparently. As they're learning Spanish in school, he asked him to point out Spain on a map and he couldn't. 😒 His mother is Greek, so asked him to point out Greece and he took a wild guess and pointed to France.

  41. Dryers aren't massively popular in England, although we did have a washer dryer years ago, but never used it 😂 Just hang the clothes outside. It's free.

  42. When my English cousin lived in Florida, his wife used to drive her son to school every day, even though it was a literal 5 minute walk. The locals thought my cousin mad for walking to work too (15 minutes). His son was 15 at the time, and I kid you not, had never crossed a road on his own. In fact he'd never been anywhere on his own. Mum drove him everywhere , as did everyone else with their children.

  46. Many a time whilst gaming online, I've had Americans comment on my accent. When I tell them I'm English and not Australian as they thought 🙄 they say my English is very good lol. I've also been told "oh you have an Essex too" when I tell them where I live. I tell them near Harwich of the Mayflower fame, and none of them have the faintest idea what I'm on about.

  48. A few months ago I was following a bus through my tiny village in England. The driver took a wrong turning into a tiny side road, so had to reverse out. He reversed into a road sign, panicked and jerked forward right into a very old thatched cottage. The cottage did get repaired but I'm guessing he lost his job lol
