  5. I appreciate James' recognition that both the brutal and disgusting attack on October 7 as well as the horrific retaliation by the IDF are both bad and should both be condemned. Shame more people who have picked a side and at best say "yes, but" don't seem able to do the same. The victims are the people who want nothing more than to live in peace with everyone else.

I've commented a number of times that even after Trump is done running (hopefully after this election) we're still going to be dealing with the MAGA politicians for years or even decades to come. I've heard a few people compare Trump to Yeltsin in that similar sense of who came after Yeltsin and how we should be more concerned about who comes after Trump. The MAGA voters are primed and ready for it.

  19. @ Except that he didn't take the lot. Trump took just under half of the popular vote (49.8%) in 2024 and did even worse in both prior elections. The larger majority either voted against him by voting for Harris (48.3%) or someone else (1.9%), or didn't vote for anyone which includes Donald. And he's well below 50% in the current polls as he almost always has been. So by all measures he come up short of the majority and almost always has.

  27. As someone who has lived his entire 55 years of life in the US that hasn't been my experience. There's plenty of talk about class disparity in America if you are in the groups of people who are concerned about class disparity. It might not always be as direct as comparing and contrasting lower- middle- upper-class problems and experiences, though those are part of the discussions, but the conversations about poverty and wealth are also about class and those conversations happen quite regularly in any variety of areas of American society.

  39. Hamas is deliberately trying to provoke a response as do the daily killings of Palestinians by Israeli soldiers and displacement of families from their homes by Israeli settlers. We are outraged by a single mass casualty event but much more tolerant of the daily murders of one or a few. But over 70 years the daily deaths far outnumber the one day massacre. It's all evil and wicked and it all must end. Shame in Hamas, shame on Israel, and shame on all of us who tolerate this decades long horror and oppression in the Gaza open air prison.

Goes to show that four degrees and an MBA didn't help with the important things like having enough common sense not to label someone with a clinical diagnoses for a YouTube comment. Don't feel bad, it's a common error. Using "needing to be in the spotlight" would have gotten you the same effect (and been a nice bit of wordplay) while avoiding sounding like a meme.
