There are still 112 days until the election - anything could happen between now and then to alter how it turns out.

There's a very obvious way to handle child abuse that's been proven beyond a doubt, especially of this sort, but too many of us aren't willing to go there.
3
Getting ads about the ongoing tragedies going on in Sudan, the Congo, Syria and other conflict zones while listening to the discussion about the Israel/Palestine Gaza conflict reminds me how widespread our carnage against one another extends. So much suffering in so many places and no end to any of it with the leaders we let hold power.

Project 2025.
3
And yet here you are, feeding the algorithm with your comment.
3
1:37:40- it always comes down to class and/or race. It's how the ones at the top keep the rest of us at each others throats and away from theirs.
3
What do you mean "us"? Only made me angry and a social malcontent.
3
There might be some oligarch/plutocrats who have bunkers that will extend their lives by a few years or even decades, but the rest of us peasants are hosed.
3
@Mattblack-y4x I've never understood the need some people have who seek out people they disagree with just so they can be disagreeable about how much they disagree with them. It's even worse when it's online and they know there aren't really any consequences for doing it. Footballification is one thing - that's pathologic.

When she used the term "unwavering support" she had already lost the argument and made herself sound like a fool. James merely helped her eliminate any doubt over and over again. Amazed you wanted to use that as an example of your problem with James but you do you.
3
bEcAuSe nEwSoMe - Trump is such a child.

Dogs are trained and controlled by their owners. I don't know about "thought process', but the human owner definitely controls the dogs behavior.
3
Leave Stonehenge alone right now! I mean it! Anyone that has a problem with the henge, you deal with me!
3
@ibrahimwaka3916 Nigel - is that you?
3
All presidents, even the most robust and vital, have both a cabinet and any number of other advisors and staff to help them get the job done. The president is more the figurehead of an Administration than the person making every decision or crafting every policy.
3
You must like abuse posting a comment like that. Too each their own.

There were people upset about Python before - there will be people upset about Python again. It's just a question of when.
2
No offense but what a dumb comment to post.
2
@louieberg2942 Or speak negatively about his war in Ukraine (or even call it a war) or LGBT rights or voice support for opposition figures or...
2
@Jack Snow You gonna blame China too? 🤡
2
What a silly thing to post.
2
That's not what that means. It is a call to free the land of Palestine from the Jewish state. The other part of that chant is about driving the Jewish people into the sea.
2
As long as the definition of "responsible" you're using is the one for being capable of being trusted. Otherwise, not so much.
2
And yet here you are.
2
They are trying to provoke a reaction, but it's up the the people in positions of authority to decide if they want that reaction to be a positive and professional reaction or not. Police and others have the power, and there's nothing wrong with trying to hold people who have all the power to account.
2
@MichelleSCarey GOTCHA!
2
Posted this another UK upload but it's relevant to here as well. In addition to being generally inhumane, the Rwanda scheme sounds like it's going to cost a ridiculous amount of money that could be spent in much more productive ways. But that's conservatives for you.
2
@andrewstevenson118 Nope.
2
@andrewstevenson118 Agreed. I'm wondering if there might have been a technical problem at some point and decided to leave the whole quiz section out rather than just post part of it and have people complain about that. Still, it would be nice to know what happened for sure. I know I could listen to the show on that global player ap James talks about, but I enjoy watching it here on YouTube (and I'm lazy) so I'll just write it off and hope we get the whole show next week.

The frightening thing is how many already were. This whole sorry experience is reminding me of just how many deeply damaged people live in my country.
2
The old Conservative saying is 'my way or the highway'. For them unity is all about falling in line and obedience without questioning what you're being told to do. It's the same nonsense you find in any authoritarian regime.
2
Not sure why you ever had any. Respect individual people who give reason for being respected - not groups of people.
2
@idratherbeaphilthanajustin9533 For anyone not from there many of them are.
2
US Mainstream Media is pretty bad it sure seems like it's got nothing on UK Mainstream Media.
2
I'd recommend for a centrist Democratic perspective view the Pod Save America programs or for something further left Democracy Now and other programs from Free Speech TV. There's also Mark Normand who is on the political left. It's not radio but they are all on YouTube.
2
The unhinged posts in these comments from the people who hate James, smear Keir, and adore Thatcher remind me just how many deeply damaged people exist all around the world.
2
13:10 - THIS! This is the same message that our publishers and Democratic politicians in the US need to have told to them. They are not part of the solution by going along to get along, and the time for trying to appeal to the better angels of people who hate them and will never support or vote for them needs to end. Take a stand and show some spine!

"Hard working families" is political virtue signaling. It's the idea that families have children and children are the future so kinder über alles! The flip side of that is the moralizing that single people without children are selfish wastes of a life. There's also this nonsense about how if someone doesn't have children they are somehow less virtuous and/or a sad person who has missed out on ever knowing the unconditional love of being a parent and grandparent. In that vein, don't get me started on the grannies and their insanity around grandbabies. Personally, I knew I was never going to be able to give a child he kind of life they deserve so I chose to not bring a life into this world who I couldn't afford to provide for. I also find other people and their children to be generally awful and wouldn't want to inflict them and their BS on my child. Finally, the fact that the single best thing someone can do to help fight global warming or climate change or whatever we're going to call it played a part in my decision as well. And me -- I like the silence. I'll get down of my soapbox now - thank you.

When two of my friends and I, who were eight years old at the time, were "paddled" by our schools Principal for tossing rocks into a small pond that had formed on the playground after a large rainstorm to see who make the biggest splash while the Teacher who brought us in looked on, it only served to make me hate school and despise, with a few exceptions, the educators and administrators. And while I might not have tossed or thrown any more rocks during school hours, I did much worse things to the school buildings on more than one occasion - just made sure I didn't get caught. Lesson learned.

(Okay, if it keeps Farage away from people then I'm all for the ban. That's the real public health measure). As a former smoker who still gets cravings when I smell a cigarette I feel that if people are outdoors they need to be allowed to smoke. Biergartens are more tricky because they are all outdoor seating, so you would need to have a smoking section with perhaps some sort of physical barrier between the smoking and non-smoking sections. But if you want to go to a pub or a restaurant that has both indoor and outdoor seating, and you want to be somewhere nobody is smoking, then go inside.

Was she convicted of the abuse or serve any time in prison for domestic abuse? As the answer is no, then the answer to your question is no - technically. But it's a fair question. If she had been more than arrested and released, or if she had assaulted her partners on more than one occasion, then I'd say she probably shouldn't be allowed to be a PM.
2
Thanks from the States, mates!
2
The kinds of intolerant people who are all too often Trump supporters aren't anything new. Back in the 1960s after the Kent State (I don't know if YouTube will even let me use the word but hopefully you all know what I'm referring to) there were people who lived in the small, rural towns around the University who are on camera saying that the National Guard should have unalived more of the protestors. If it happens today we'll likely see more of the same, especially in the comments section of online platforms.
2
I can almost guarantee that Donald Trump doesn't know that Napoleon invaded Russia. He doesn't even know that much about the history of the US, he certainly isn't going to know about European history.
2
So many FSB botskis in the comments today.
2
To be fair, plenty of people in the UK see themselves as set apart from the rest of Europe because the UK is an island unto itself. It's also not part of the EU anymore. In a way, it's the opposite of how the US is just one country in the Americas but it is often called America without any regard for the rest of the North, Central and South American countries.
2
Wild that people don't understand this comments section is just so much screaming into the void.
2
@1loumellor51 What a weird insult.
2
Indeed many o f them were behind Sunak - cheering him on and yucking it up as he made that odious "joke".
2
A "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps, slacker" mentality. But that's those pro-life, compassionate conservatives for you. Tens of millions of Republicun*s who will be voting in record numbers for an authoritarian grifter named Donald Trump.
